2 Koenige 14

1 Im zweiten Jahre Joas', des Sohnes Joahas', des Königs von Israel, ward Amazja König, der Sohn Jehoas', des Königs von Juda.

In year two of Joash [the] son of Jehoahaz [the] king of Israel he became king Amaziah [the] son of Joash [the] king of Judah.

2 Fünfundzwanzig Jahre war er alt, als er König ward, und neunundzwanzig Jahre regierte er zu Jerusalem. Seine Mutter aber hieß Joadin und stammte aus Jerusalem.

A son of twenty and five year[s] he was when became king he and twenty and nine year[s] he reigned in Jerusalem and [the] name of mother his ([was] Jehoaddan *QK) from Jerusalem.

3 Und er that, was Jahwe wohlgefiel, jedoch nicht ganz, wie sein Ahnherr David; vielmehr that er ganz, wie sein Vater Jehoas gethan hatte.

And he did the right in [the] eyes of Yahweh only not like David ancestor his according to all that he had done Joash father his he did.

4 Nur wurden die Höhen nicht abgeschafft; das Volk opferte und räucherte noch immer auf den Höhen.

Only the high places not they were removed still the people [were] sacrificing and [were] making smoke at the high places.

5 Sobald er aber die königliche Macht fest in den Händen hatte, ließ er seine Diener, die den König, seinen Vater, erschlagen hatten, töten.

And it was just when it was secure the kingdom in hand his and he struck down servants his who had struck down the king father his.

6 Die Kinder der Totschläger ließ er jedoch nicht hinrichten, nach dem Gebote Jahwes, das im Gesetzbuche Moses geschrieben steht und so lautet: Es sollen nicht Väter um der Kinder willen und Kinder um der Väter willen mit dem Tode bestraft werden; sondern ein jeder soll nur wegen seines eigenen Vergehens getötet werden dürfen.

And [the] sons of those [who] had struck down not he put to death according to [what] is written in [the] book of [the] law of Moses which he commanded Yahweh saying not they will be put to death fathers on sons and sons not they will be put to death on fathers that except each for own sin his (he will be put to death. *QK)

7 Er war es, der die Edomiter, zehntausend Mann, im Salzthale schlug und die Stadt Sela eroberte; und er nannte sie Joktheel, und so heißt sie bis auf den heutigen Tag.

He he struck down Edom in [the] Valley of (Salt *QK) ten thousand and he seized Sela in battle and he called name its Joktheel until the day this.

8 Damals sandte Amazja Boten an Joas, den Sohn Joahas', des Sohnes Jehus, den König von Israel, und er ließ ihm sagen: Wohlan, wir wollen uns miteinander messen!

Then he sent Amaziah messengers to Jehoash [the] son of Jehoahaz [the] son of Jehu [the] king of Israel saying come! let us look at one another faces.

9 Da ließ Joas: der König von Israel, Amazja, dem Könige von Juda, Folgendes entbieten: Die Distel auf dem Libanon sandte zur Ceder auf dem Libanon und ließ ihr sagen: Gieb deine Tochter meinem Sohne zum Weibe! Aber das Wild auf dem Libanon lief über die Distel und zertrat sie.

And he sent Jehoash [the] king of Israel to Amaziah [the] king of Judah saying thornbush which [was] in Lebanon it sent to cedar which [was] in Lebanon saying give! daughter your to son my to a wife and it passed by [the] animal of the field which [was] in Lebanon and it trampled the thornbush.

10 Weil du glücklich die Edomiter geschlagen hast, so reißt dich nun dein Hochmut fort. Habe den Ruhm und bleibe daheim! Warum willst du nur das Unglück herausfordern, daß du zu Falle kommest und Juda mit dir?

Certainly you have struck down Edom and it has lifted you heart your be honored and remain at home your and why? will you engage in strife with harm and you will fall you and Judah with you.

11 Aber Amazja wollte nicht hören. Da rückte Joas, der König von Israel, heran, und sie maßen sich miteinander, er und Amazja, der König von Juda, zu Bethsemes, welches zu Juda gehört.

And not he listened Amaziah and he went up Jehoash [the] king of Israel and they looked at one another faces he and Amaziah [the] king of Judah at Beth Shemesh which [belonged] to Judah.

12 Und die Judäer wurden von den Israeliten geschlagen, so daß ein jeder in seine Heimat floh.

And it was defeated Judah before Israel and they fled everyone (to tents his. *QK)

13 Amazja aber, den König von Juda, den Sohn Jehoas', des Sohnes Ahasjahus, nahm Joas, der König von Israel, zu Bethsemes gefangen und brachte ihn nach Jerusalem. Und er legte in die Mauer Jerusalems eine Bresche vom Ephraimthhor an bis an das Eckthor, eine Strecke von vierhundert Ellen.

And Amaziah [the] king of Judah [the] son of Jehoash [the] son of Ahaziah he seized Jehoash [the] king of Israel at Beth Shemesh (and he came *QK) Jerusalem and he made a breach in [the] wall of Jerusalem at [the] gate of Ephraim to [the] gate of the corner four hundred cubit[s].

14 Und er nahm alles Gold und Silber und alles Geräte, die sich im Tempel Jahwes und in den Schatzkammern des königlichen Palastes vorfanden, dazu die Geiseln und kehrte nach Samaria zurück.

And he took all the gold and the silver and all the articles which were found [the] house of Yahweh and in [the] treasuries of [the] house of the king and [the] sons of the pledges and he returned Samaria towards.

15 Was aber sonst noch von Joas zu sagen ist, was er ausgeführt hat und seine tapferen Thaten, und wie er mit Amazja, dem Könige von Juda, Krieg geführt hat, das ist ja aufgezeichnet im Buche der Geschichte der Könige von Israel.

And [the] rest of [the] matters of Jehoash which he did and might his and which he waged war with Amaziah [the] king of Judah ¿ not [are] they written on [the] scroll of [the] matters of the days of [the] kings of Israel.

16 Und Joas legte sich zu seinen Vätern und ward zu Samaria bei den Königen von Israel begraben. Und sein Sohn Jerobeam ward König an seiner Statt.

And he lay down Jehoash with ancestors his and he was buried in Samaria with [the] kings of Israel and he became king Jeroboam son his in place of him.

17 Amazja aber, der Sohn Jehoas', der König von Juda, lebte nach dem Tode Joas', des Sohnes Joahas', des Königs von Israel, noch fünfzehn Jahre.

And he lived Amaziah [the] son of Joash [the] king of Judah after [the] death of Jehoash [the] son of Jehoahaz [the] king of Israel fif-teen year[s].

18 Was aber sonst noch von Amazja zu sagen ist, das ist ja aufgezeichnet im Buche der Geschichte der Könige von Juda.

And [the] rest of [the] matters of Amaziah ¿ not [are] they written on [the] scroll of [the] matters of the days of [the] kings of Judah.

19 Und sie zettelten zu Jerusalem eine Verschwörung gegen ihn an. Da floh er nach Lachis; aber man sandte hinter ihm drein nach Lachis und ließ ihn daselbst ermorden.

And people conspired on him a conspiracy in Jerusalem and he fled Lachish towards and they sent after him Lachish towards and they put to death him there.

20 Sodann hob man ihn auf den Wagen, und er ward zu Jerusalem bei seinen Vätern in der Stadt Davids begraben.

And they carried him on horses and he was buried in Jerusalem with ancestors his in [the] city of David.

21 Darauf nahm das ganze Volk von Juda den Asarja, obwohl er erst sechzehn Jahre alt war, und machten ihn an seines Vaters Amazja Statt zum Könige.

And they took all [the] people of Judah Azariah and he [was] a son of six-teen year[s] and they made king him in place of father his Amaziah.

22 Dieser befestigte Elath und brachte es wieder an Juda, nachdem sich der König zu seinen Vätern gelegt hatte.

He he built Elath and he restored it to Judah after lay down the king with ancestors his.

23 Im fünfzehnten Jahre Amazjas, des Sohnes Jehoas', des Königs von Juda, ward Jerobeam, der Sohn Joas', des Königs von Israel, König zu Samaria und regierte einundvierzig Jahre.

In year fif-teen year of Amaziah [the] son of Joash [the] king of Judah he became king Jeroboam [the] son of Joash [the] king of Israel in Samaria forty and one year[s].

24 Und er that, was Jahwe mißfiel; er ließ nicht von allen Sünden Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, zu denen er Israel verführt hatte.

And he did the evil in [the] eyes of Yahweh not he turned aside from all [the] sins of Jeroboam [the] son of Nebat which he caused to sin Israel.

25 Derselbe eroberte das israelitische Gebiet zurück, von da an, wo es nach Hamath hineingeht, bis zum Meere der Steppe, nach dem Wort Jahwes, des Gottes Israels, das er durch seinen Knecht, den Propheten Jona, den Sohn Amithais von Gath-Hahepher, geredet hatte.

He he restored [the] border of Israel from Lebo Hamath to [the] sea of the Arabah according to [the] word of Yahweh [the] God of Israel which he spoke by [the] hand of servant his Jonah [the] son of Amittai the prophet who [was] from Gath Hepher.

26 Denn Jahwe hatte das bittere Elend Israels wahrgenommen, und Unmündige wie Mündige waren dahin, und es gab keinen Helfer für Israel.

For he saw Yahweh [the] affliction of Israel rebellious very and there not [was] shut up and there not [was] freed and there not [was] a helper for Israel.

27 Davon aber hatte Jahwe nicht geredet, daß er den Namen Israels austilgen wolle unter dem Himmel, und so half er ihnen durch Jerobeam, den Sohn Joas'.

And not he had spoken Yahweh to wipe out [the] name of Israel from under the heavens and he delivered them by [the] hand of Jeroboam [the] son of Joash.

28 Was aber sonst noch von Jerobeam zu sagen ist und alles, was er ausgeführt hat, und seine tapferen Thaten, wie er Krieg geführt und wie er den einstigen jüdischen Anteil an Damaskus und Hamath an Israel zurückgebracht hat, das ist ja aufgezeichnet im Buche der Geschichte der Könige von Israel.

And [the] rest of [the] matters of Jeroboam and all that he did and might his which he waged war and which he restored Damascus and Hamath to Judah in Israel ¿ not [are] they written on [the] scroll of [the] matters of the days of [the] kings of Israel.

29 Und Jerobeam legte sich zu seinen Vätern und ward zu Samaria bei den Königen von Israel begraben. Und sein Sohn Sacharja ward König an seiner Statt.

And he lay down Jeroboam with ancestors his with [the] kings of Israel and he became king Zechariah son his in place of him.
