2 Chronik 8
1 Nach Ablauf der zwanzig Jahre aber, während welcher Salomo den Tempel Jahwes und seinen Palast erbaut hatte,
And it comes to pass at the end of twenty years that Solomon has built the house of YHWH and his own house.
2 befestigte Salomo die Städte, die Huram dem Salomo abgetreten hatte, und siedelte dort die Israeliten an.
As for the cities that Huram has given to Solomon, Solomon has built them, and he causes the sons of Israel to dwell there.
3 Sodann zog Salomo nach Hamath bei Zoba und überwältigte es.
And Solomon goes to Hamath-Zobah, and lays hold on it;
4 Und er befestigte Tadmor in der Wüste und alle die Vorratsstädte, die er in Hamath errichtete.
and he builds Tadmor in the wilderness, and all the cities of store that he has built in Hamath.
5 Weiter befestigte er das obere Beth-Horon und das untere Beth-Horon als Festungen mit Mauern, Thoren und Riegeln,
And he builds Beth-Horon the upper, and Beth-Horon the lower—cities of defense, with walls, double gates, and bar—
6 ferner Baalath und alle Vorratsstädte, die Salomo gehörten, und alle die Wagenstädte und die Städte für die Reiter und was immer Salomo zu Jerusalem, auf dem Libanon und im ganzen Bereiche seiner Herrschaft zu erbauen wünschte.
and Ba‘alath, and all the cities of store that Solomon had, and all the cities of the chariot, and the cities of the horsemen, and all the desire of Solomon that he desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.
7 Alles nun, was noch übrig war von den Hethitern, Amoritern, Pheresitern, Hevitern und Jebusitern, die nicht zu den Israeliten gehörten,
All the people who are left of the Hittite, and the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, who are not of Israel—
8 - Nachkommen von ihnen, die noch übrig waren im Lande, die die Israeliten nicht vertilgt hatten, - die hob Salomo zum Frondienst aus, und so fronen sie bis auf den heutigen Tag.
of their sons who have been left after them in the land, whom the sons of Israel did not consume—Solomon lifts up a tribute to this day.
9 Von den Israeliten aber machte Salomo keine Leibeigenen für seine Arbeiter, sondern sie waren Kriegsleute und die Befehlshaber über seine Wagenkämpfer und die Befehlshaber über seine Wagen und Reiter.
And Solomon has made none of the sons of Israel servants for his work, but they [are] men of war, and heads of his captains, and heads of his charioteers, and of his horsemen;
10 Und dies waren die obersten Beamten der Vögte des Königs Salomo: 250, welche über die Leute die Aufsicht führten.
and these [are] heads of the officers whom King Solomon has, two hundred and fifty who are rulers among the people.
11 Und die Tochter des Pharao brachte Salomo aus der Stadt Davids in das Haus, das er für sie erbaut hatte; denn er sprach: Es soll mir kein Weib im Palaste Davids, des Königs von Israel, wohnen; denn sie sind ein Heiligtum, weil die Lade Jahwes zu ihnen eingegangen ist.
And Solomon has brought up the daughter of Pharaoh from the City of David to the house that he built for her, for he said, “My wife does not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, for they are holy to whom the Ark of YHWH has come.”
12 Damals brachte Salomo Jahwe Brandopfer dar auf dem Altar Jahwes, den er vor der Vorhalle errichtet hatte,
Then Solomon has caused burnt-offerings to ascend to YHWH on the altar of YHWH that he built before the porch,
13 und zwar, wie es jeden Tag erforderlich war, indem er entsprechend dem Gebote Moses an den Sabbaten und den Neumonden und den Festen dreimal im Jahre - am Fest der ungesäuerten Brote, am Wochenfest und am Laubhüttenfest - Opfer brachte.
even by the matter of a day in its day, to cause to ascend according to the command of Moses, on Sabbaths, and on new moons, and on appointed times, three times in a year—in the Celebration of Unleavened Things, and in the Celebration of Weeks, and in the Celebration of Shelters.
14 Und nach der Anordnung seines Vaters David bestellte er die Abteilungen der Priester zu ihrem Dienst und die Leviten zu ihren Amtsverichtungen, zu lobsingen und bei den Priestern Dienste zu leisten, so wie es ein jeder Tag erforderte, und die Thorhüter nach ihren Abteilungen für die einzelnen Thore; denn so lautete der Befehl Davids, des Mannes Gottes.
And he establishes, according to the ordinance of his father David, the divisions of the priests over their service, and of the Levites over their charges, to praise and to minister before the priests, according to the matter of a day in its day, and the gatekeepers in their divisions at every gate, for so [is] the command of David the man of God.
15 Man wich in keinem Stücke von dem Befehle des Königs in betreff der Priester und der Leviten und der Schatzkammern ab.
And they have not turned aside [from] the command of the king concerning the priests and the Levites, in reference to any matter, and to the treasures.
16 Und so wurde das ganze Werk Salomos fertig gestellt vom Tage der Gründung des Tempels an bis zu seiner Vollendung; der Tempel Jahwes war fertig.
And all the work of Solomon is prepared until the day of the foundation of the house of YHWH, and until its completion; the house of YHWH is perfect.
17 Damals zog Salomo nach Ezeon-Geber und nach Eloth am Ufer des Meers im Lande Edom.
Then Solomon has gone to Ezion-Geber, and to Elath, on the border of the sea, in the land of Edom;
18 Huram aber sandte ihm durch seine Leute Schiffe und Leute, die mit dem Meere vertraut waren. Und sie gelangten zusammen mit den Leuten Salomos nach Ophir und holten von dort 450 Talente Goldes und brachten es zum Könige Salomo.
and Huram sends to him, by the hand of his servants, ships and servants knowing the sea, and they go with servants of Solomon to Ophir, and take four hundred and fifty talents of gold from there, and bring it to King Solomon.
