2 Chronik 28

1 Zwanzig Jahre war Ahas alt, als er König ward, und sechzehn Jahre regierte er zu Jerusalem. Er that jedoch nicht, was Jahwe wohlgefiel, wie sein Ahnherr David,

[was] a son of Twenty year[s] Ahaz when became king he and six-teen year[s] he reigned in Jerusalem and not he did the right in [the] eyes of Yahweh like David ancestor his.

2 sondern wandelte auf den Wegen der Könige von Israel; dazu ließ er auch Gußbilder für die Baale anfertigen.

And he walked in [the] ways of [the] kings of Israel and also molten images he made for the Baals.

3 Er räucherte im Thale Ben-Hinnom, ließ seine Söhne durchs Feuer gehen und ahmte so die Greuel der Völker nach, welche Jahwe vor den Israeliten ausgetrieben hatte.

And he he made smoke in [the] valley of Ben Hinnom and he burned sons his in the fire according to [the] abominations of the nations which he dispossessed Yahweh from before [the] people of Israel.

4 Und er opferte und räucherte auf den Höhen und auf den Hügeln und unter jedem grünen Baum.

And he sacrificed and he made smoke at the high places and on the hills and under every tree luxuriant.

5 Da überlieferte ihn Jahwe, sein Gott, in die Gewalt des Königs der Aramäer; die brachten ihm eine Niederlage bei, nahmen eine große Menge der Seinen gefangen und führten sie nach Damaskus. Dazu wurde er auch der Gewalt des Königs von Israel überliefert, und auch dieser brachte ihm eine große Niederlage bei.

And he gave him Yahweh God his in [the] hand of [the] king of Aram and they defeated him and they took captive from him a group of captives large and they brought [them] Damascus and also in [the] hand of [the] king of Israel he was given and he defeated him a defeat great.

6 Und zwar tötete Pekach, der Sohn Remaljas, in Juda 120000 an einem Tage, lauter tapfere Männer, weil sie von Jahwe, dem Gott ihrer Väter, abgefallen waren.

And he killed Pekah [the] son of Remaliah among Judah one hundred and twenty thousand in a day one all [were] sons of strength because had forsaken they Yahweh [the] God of ancestors their.

7 Sichri aber, ein ephraimitischer Held, tötete den Prinzen Maaseja und den Palastvorsteher Asrikam und Elkana, den zweiten im Range nach dem Könige.

And he killed Zikri - warrior of Ephraim Maaseiah [the] son of the king and Azrikam [the] officer of the house and Elkanah [the] second of the king.

8 Und die Israeliten führten ihren Volksgenossen 200000 Frauen, Söhne und Töchter hinweg, nahmen ihnen massenhafte Beute ab und brachten die Beute nach Samaria.

And they took captive [the] people of Israel of relatives their two hundred thousand women sons and daughters and also booty much they plundered from them and they brought the booty to Samaria.

9 Es war aber daselbst ein Prophet Jahwes, Namens Oded. Der ging hinaus, trat vor das Heer, das heimkam nach Samaria, und sprach zu ihnen: Fürwahr, infolge des Zornes Jahwes, des Gottes eurer Väter, auf die Judäer hat er sie in eure Gewalt gegeben, so daß ihr ein Gemetzel unter ihnen anrichten konntet, mit einer Wut, die bis zum Himmel reichte.

And there he was a prophet of Yahweh [was] Oded name his and he went out before the army which was coming to Samaria and he said to them here! in [the] wrath of Yahweh [the] God of ancestors your towards Judah he gave them in hand your and you have killed among them in a rage [which] to to the heavens it has reached.

10 Und nun gedenkt ihr, diese Judäer und Jerusalemiten zu Sklaven und Sklavinnen für euch zu machen. Aber lasten nicht auch auf euch Verschuldungen gegen Jahwe, euren Gott?

And now [the] people of Judah and Jerusalem you [are] saying to subjugate to [male] slaves and to female slaves for yourselves ¿ not certainly you with you [are] guilt to Yahweh God your.

11 So gebt mir nun Gehör und schickt die Gefangenen, die ihr von euren Volksgenossen hinweggeführt habt, wieder zurück; denn der grimmige Zorn Jahwes lastet auf euch!

And therefore listen to me and return the group of captives which you have taken captive from relatives your for [the] burning of [the] anger of Yahweh [is] towards you.

12 Da traten einige von den Häuptern der Ephraimiten, Asarja, der Sohn Johanans, Berechja, der Sohn Mesillemoths, Hiskia, der Sohn Sallums, und Amasa, der Sohn Hadlais, den vom Feldzug Heimkehrenden entgegen

And they rose up men some of [the] leaders of [the] descendants of Ephraim Azariah [the] son of Jehohanan Berekiah [the] son of Meshillemoth and Jechizkiah [the] son of Shallum and Amasa [the] son of Hadlai on the [ones who] were coming from the war.

13 und sprachen zu ihnen: Ihr dürft die Gefangenen nicht hierher bringen! Denn ihr habt im Sinn, unsere Sünden und unsere Verschuldung noch zu vermehren, zu der Verschuldung gegen Jahwe hinzu, die bereits auf uns lastet. Denn wir haben große Verschuldung, und grimmiger Zorn lastet auf Israel!

And they said to them not you must bring the group of captives here for to [the] guilt of Yahweh on us [are] you? saying to add to sins our and to guilt our for much guilt [belongs] to us and burning of anger [is] towards Israel.

14 Da gaben die Krieger die Gefangenen und die Beute in Gegenwart der Obersten und der ganzen Volksgemeinde frei.

And he left the [man] equipped the group of captives and the plunder before the commanders and all the assembly.

15 Und die Männer, die namentlich dazu bezeichnet waren, gingen daran, sich der Gefangenen anzunehmen, bekleideten alle, die nackt unter ihnen waren, aus der Beute, gaben ihnen Kleider und Schuhe und zu essen und zu trinken, versorgten sie, so viele ihrer zum Gehen zu matt waren, mit Eseln, brachten sie nach Jericho, der Palmenstadt, in die Nähe ihrer Volksgenossen und kehrten sodann nach Samaria zurück.

And they arose the men who they had been designated by names and they took hold on the group of captives and all naked people their they clothed from the booty and they clothed them and they shod them and they fed them and they gave to drink them and they anointed them and they led them on donkeys any [one who] stumbled and they brought them Jericho [the] city of the palm trees beside relatives their and they returned Samaria.

16 Um diese Zeit schickte der König Ahas an die Könige von Assyrien, daß sie ihm helfen sollten.

At the time that he sent the king Ahaz to [the] kings of Assyria to help him.

17 Dazu drangen noch die Edomiter ein, richteten eine Niederlage unter den Judäern an und führten Gefangene hinweg.

And again [the] Edomites they had come and they had defeated Judah and they had taken captive captive[s].

18 Die Philister aber fielen in die Städte in der Niederung und im Südlande von Juda ein, eroberten Beth-Semes, Ajalon, Gederoth und Socho mit den zugehörigen Ortschaften, Thimna mit den zugehörigen Ortschaften und Gimso mit den zugehörigen Ortschaften und setzten sich daselbst fest.

And [the] Philistines they had made a raid on [the] cities of the Shephelah and the Negev of Judah and they had captured Beth Shemesh and Aijalon and Gederoth and Socoh and daughters its and Timnah and daughters its and Gimzo and daughters its and they dwelt there.

19 Denn Jahwe demütigte Juda um Ahas, des Königs von Israel, willen, weil er zuchtloses Wesen in Juda angerichtet und sich treulos gegen Jahwe erzeigt hatte.

For he had humbled Yahweh Judah for sake of Ahaz [the] king of Israel for he had allowed lack of restraint in Judah and he had acted unfaithfully unfaithfulness against Yahweh.

20 Da rückte Thilgath Pilneser, der König von Assyrien, wider ihn an und bedrängte ihn, anstatt ihn zu unterstützen.

And he came on him Tiglath-pileser [the] king of Assyria and he harassed him and not he strengthened him.

21 Denn Ahas plünderte den Tempel Jahwes und den königlichen Palast und die Obersten und gab alles dem Könige von Assyrien, aber ohne daß es ihm etwas geholfen hätte.

For he had plundered Ahaz [the] house of Yahweh and [the] house of the king and the officials and he had given to [the] king of Assyria and not for help for him.

22 Doch selbst in der Zeit, wo ihn jener bedrängte, beging er, der König Ahas, neue Treulosigkeiten gegen Jahwe.

And at [the] time harassed him and he increased to act unfaithfully against Yahweh that the king Ahaz.

23 Er opferte den Göttern von Damaskus, die ihn besiegt hatten, und sprach: Die Götter der Könige von Aram, die haben ihnen beigestanden; ihnen will ich opfern, damit sie mir auch beistehen! Sie dienten ihm aber vielmehr dazu, ihn und ganz Israel zu Falle zu bringen.

And he sacrificed to [the] gods of Damascus which had defeated him and he said that [the] gods of [the] kings of Aram they [are] helping them to them I will sacrifice and they will help me and they they became for him causing overthrow his and all Israel.

24 Und Ahas raffte die Geräte des Tempels Gottes zusammen und zerschlug die Geräte des Tempels Gottes; er schloß die Thüren des Tempels Jahwes und errichtete sich in jeder Ecke zu Jerusalem Altäre.

And he gathered Ahaz [the] utensils of [the] house of God and he cut up [the] utensils of [the] house of God and he closed [the] doors of [the] house of Yahweh and he made for himself altars at every corner in Jerusalem.

25 Dazu errichtete er in jeder einzelnen Stadt Judas Opferhöhen, um den fremden Göttern zu räuchern, und reizte so Jahwe, den Gott seiner Väter, zum Zorn.

And in every city and a city of Judah he made high places to make smoke to gods other and he provoked Yahweh [the] God of ancestors his.

26 Seine übrige Geschichte aber und alle seine Unternehmungen, die früheren und die späteren, finden sich aufgezeichnet im Buche der Könige von Juda und Israel.

And [the] rest of matters his and all ways his former and latter there they [are] written on [the] scroll of [the] kings of Judah and Israel.

27 Da legte sich Ahas zu seinen Vätern, und man begrub ihn zu Jerusalem, inmitten der Stadt; denn man brachte ihn nicht in die Gräber der Könige von Israel. Und sein Sohn Hiskia ward König an seiner Statt.

And he lay down Ahaz with ancestors his and people buried him in the city in Jerusalem for not they brought him to [the] graves of [the] kings of Israel and he became king Hezekiah son his in place of him.
