1 Korinther 14
1 Die Liebe oben an! dann möget ihr nach den Geistesgaben trachten, am besten immer nach Weissagung.
Followe after loue, and couet spirituall giftes, and rather that ye may prophecie.
2 Denn wer Zunge redet, redet nicht mit Menschen, sondern mit Gott; niemand vernimmt es, er redet im Geiste Geheimnisse.
For hee that speaketh a strange tongue, speaketh not vnto men, but vnto God: for no man heareth him: howbeit in the spirit he speaketh secret things.
3 Wer aber weissagt, redet mit Menschen zur Erbauung, Ermahnung, Tröstung.
But he that prophecieth, speaketh vnto me to edifying, and to exhortation, and to comfort.
4 Wer Zunge redet, erbaut sich selbst; wer weissagt, erbaut die Gemeinde.
He that speaketh strange language, edifieth himselfe: but hee that prophecieth, edifieth the Church.
5 Ich gönne euch, daß ihr alle Zungen redet: viel mehr wünsche ich, daß ihr weissagtet. Der weissagt, ist mehr, als der Zungen redet, es sei denn daß dieser es übersetze, damit die Gemeinde ihre Erbauung habe.
I would that ye all spake strange languages, but rather that ye prophecied: for greater is hee that prophecieth, then hee that speaketh diuers tongues, except hee expound it, that the Church may receiue edification.
6 Gesetzt, Brüder, ich komme als Zungenredner zu euch, was werde ich euch nützen, wenn ich nicht auch zu euch rede, was es sei: Offenbarung, Erkenntnis, Weissagung, Lehre?
And nowe, brethren, if I come vnto you speaking diuers tongues, what shall I profite you, except I speake to you, either by reuelation, or by knowledge, or by prophecying, or by doctrine?
7 Tönende Instrumente, wie die Flöte, die Zither, wenn sie nicht ihre Töne deutlich unterscheiden lassen, wie soll man doch das Spiel der Flöte oder der Zither verstehen?
Moreouer things without life which giue a sounde, whether it be a pipe or an harpe, except they make a distinction in the soundes, how shall it be knowen what is piped or harped?
8 Wenn die Trompete nur einen unverständlichen Schall gibt, wer wird darauf antreten zum Kampfe?
And also if the trumpet giue an vncertaine sound, who shall prepare himselfe to battell?
9 So ist es mit euch, wenn ihr mit der Zunge nicht eine deutliche Rede hören lasset: wie soll man das Gesprochene verstehen? Es ist in die Luft gesprochen.
So likewise you, by the tongue, except yee vtter wordes that haue signification, howe shall it be vnderstand what is spoken? for ye shall speake in the ayre.
10 Es gibt wer weiß wie vielerlei Sprachen in der Welt, Sprache ist alles:
There are so many kindes of voyces (as it commeth to passe) in the world, and none of them is dumme.
11 kenne ich nun die Bedeutung der Sprache nicht, so bin ich dem Redenden ein Barbar, und er ist ien Barbar für mich.
Except I know then the power of ye voyce, I shall be vnto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh, shalbe a barbarian vnto me.
12 So in eurem Fall. Da nun der Eifer um die Geister bei euch zu Hause ist, so trachtet doch nach der Erbauung der Gemeinde, damit auch etwas dabei herauskommt.
Euen so, forasmuch as ye couet spirituall giftes, seeke that ye may excell vnto the edifying of the Church.
13 Darum soll der, der Zunge redet, derart beten, daß er es auch auslegen könne.
Wherefore, let him that speaketh a strange tongue, pray, that he may interprete.
14 Wenn ich mit der Zunge bete, so betet wohl mein Geist, aber mein Verstand schafft nichts dabei.
For if I pray in a strange togue, my spirit prayeth: but mine vnderstading is without fruite.
15 Nun also? ich will beten mit dem Geist, ich will aber auch mit dem Verstand beten; ich will singen mit dem Geist, ich will aber auch mit dem Verstand singen.
What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, but I wil pray with the vnderstanding also: I wil sing with the spirite, but I will sing with the vnderstanding also.
16 Sonst, wenn du im Geiste den Segen sprichst, wie soll denn der, der am Platz des Uneingeweihten steht, sein Amen zu deiner Danksagung sprechen? weiß er ja nicht, was du sagst.
Else, when thou blessest with the spirit, howe shall hee that occupieth the roome of the vnlearned, say Amen, at thy giuing of thankes, seeing he knoweth not what thou sayest?
17 Du magst wohl richtig danken, aber der andere hat keine Erbauung davon.
For thou verely giuest thankes well, but the other is not edified.
18 Dank meinem Gotte, steht mir das Zungenreden mehr zu Gebot als euch allen.
I thanke my God, I speake languages more then ye all.
19 Aber in der Gemeinde will ich lieber fünf Worte mit meinem Verstand sprechen, damit ich auch andere belehre, als zehntausend Worte mit der Zunge.
Yet had I rather in the Church to speake fiue wordes with mine vnderstanding, that I might also instruct others, then ten thousande wordes in a strange tongue.
20 Brüder, werdet nicht Kinder im Denken, sondern seid Kinder in der Bosheit; im Denken aber sollt ihr reif werden.
Brethren, be not children in vnderstanding, but as concerning maliciousnes be children, but in vnderstanding be of a ripe age.
21 Im Gesetze steht geschrieben: ich werde zu diesem Volke sprechen durch Wälsche und durch Fremdlingslippen, und sie werden auch so nicht auf mich hören, spricht der Herr.
In the Lawe it is written, By men of other tongues, and by other languages will I speake vnto this people: yet so shall they not heare me, sayth the Lord.
22 Demnach sind die Zungen zum Zeichen, nicht für die Gläubigen, sondern für die Ungläubigen; dagegen ist die Weissagung nicht für die Ungläubigen, sondern für die Gläubigen.
Wherefore strange tongues are for a signe, not to them that beleeue, but to them that beleeue not: but prophecying serueth not for them that beleeue not, but for them which beleeue.
23 Wenn also die ganze Gemeinde sich versammelte und sie würden alle Zungen reden, und es kommen dann Uneingeweihte oder Ungläubige herein, werden die nicht sagen, daß ihr von Sinnen seid?
If therefore when the whole Church is come together in one, and all speake strange tongues, there come in they that are vnlearned, or they which beleeue not, will they not say, that ye are out of your wittes?
24 Wenn aber alle weissagen, und ein Ungläubiger oder Uneingeweihter kommt herein, so wird er von allen überführt, von allen beurteilt:
But if all prophecie, and there come in one that beleeueth not, or one vnlearned, hee is rebuked of all men, and is iudged of all,
25 was in seinem Herzen verborgen ist, wird offenbar; er aber fällt auf sein Antlitz, betet Gott an und bekennt, daß in Wahrheit Gott unter euch ist.
And so are the secrets of his heart made manifest, and so he will fall downe on his face and worship God, and say plainely that God is in you in deede.
26 Nun also Brüder? wenn ihr zusammenkommt, so bringt jeder etwas mit, Psalm, Lehre, Offenbarung, Zunge, Auslegung. Es soll aber alles zur Erbauung dienen.
What is to be done then, brethren? when ye come together, according as euery one of you hath a Psalme, or hath doctrine, or hath a tongue, or hath reuelation, or hath interpretation, let all things be done vnto edifying.
27 Wenn man Zungen redet, so sollen je zwei oder höchstens drei auftreten, und zwar der Reihe nach, und einer trage die Auslegung vor.
If any man speake a strange tongue, let it be by two, or at the most, by three, and that by course, and let one interprete.
28 Ist kein Ausleger da, so schweigen sie in der Gemeinde und sprechen für sich und Gott.
But if there be no interpreter, let him keepe silence in the Church, which speaketh languages, and let him speake to himselfe, and to God.
29 Propheten mögen zwei oder drei sprechen, und die andern es beurteilen.
Let the Prophets speake two, or three, and let the other iudge.
30 Kommt aber eine Offenbarung über einen andern, der noch sitzt, so soll der Erste stille sein.
And if any thing be reueiled to another that sitteth by, let the first holde his peace.
31 Denn ihr möget alle nacheinander weissagen, damit alle lernen und ermahnt werden.
For ye may all prophecie one by one, that all may learne, and all may haue comfort.
32 Der Prophetengeist ist ja dem Propheten unterthan;
And the spirits of the Prophets are subiect to the Prophets.
33 denn Gott ist nicht ein Gott der Unordnung, sondern des Friedens.
For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as we see in all ye Churches of the Saints.
34 Die Weiber sollen sich, wie in allen Versammlungen der Heiligen, so auch bei euch still verhalten; ihnen kommt es nicht zu, zu reden, sondern unterthan zu sein, wie auch das Gesetz sagt.
Let your women keepe silence in the Churches: for it is not permitted vnto them to speake: but they ought to be subiect, as also the Lawe sayth.
35 Wollen sie sich aber unterrichten, so mögen sie zu Hause ihre Männer fragen; in der Versammlung zu reden ist für eine Frau unziemlich.
And if they will learne any thing, let them aske their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speake in the Church.
36 Oder ist etwa das Wort Gottes von euch ausgegangen? oder ist es nur zu euch allein gekommen?
Came the worde of God out from you? either came it vnto you onely?
37 Wer sich dünkt ein Prophet zu sein oder ein Begeisteter, der soll begreifen, daß, was ich schreibe, vom Herrn ist.
If any man thinke him selfe to be a Prophet, or spirituall, let him acknowledge, that the things, that I write vnto you, are the commandements of the Lord.
38 Will er es nicht einsehen - so läßt er's bleiben.
And if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.
39 Also meine Brüder, trachtet nach dem Weissagen, hindert das Zungenreden nicht;
Wherefore, brethren, couet to prophecie, and forbid not to speake languages.
40 aber alles geschehe mit Anstand und in der Ordnung.
Let all things be done honestly, and by order.
