1 Chronik 22

1 Und David sprach: Dies hier sei die Behausung Jahwes, Gottes, und dies der Altar für die Brandopfer Israels!

And Dauid saide, This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar for the burnt offring of Israel.

2 Sodann befahl David, die Fremdlinge zu versammeln, die sich im Lande Israel befanden, und bestellte Steinmetzen, die Quadersteine zum Bau des Tempels Jahwes zuzuhauen.

And Dauid commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the lande of Israel, and he set masons to hewe and polish stones to builde the house of God.

3 Ferner beschaffte David eine Menge Eisen zu den Nägeln für die Thorflügel und zu den Klammern, sowie eine solche Menge Erz, daß man es nicht wägen konnte,

Dauid also prepared much yron for the nayles of the doores and of the gates, and for the ioynings, and abundance of brasse passing weight,

4 und unzählige Cedernbalken; denn die Sidonier und Tyrier brachten David Cedernbalken in Menge.

And cedar trees without nomber: for the Zidonians and they of Tyrus brought much cedar wood to Dauid.

5 Denn David dachte: Mein Sohn Salomo ist noch jung und zart; der Tempel aber, den es Jahwe zu bauen gilt, muß überaus groß werden, daß er als ein Ruhm und eine Zierde dastehe für alle Länder. So will ich denn Vorrat für ihn beschaffen! Und so beschaffte David vor seinem Tode Vorrat in Menge.

And Dauid saide, Salomon my sonne is yong and tender, and we must builde an house for the Lord, magnificall, excellent and of great fame and dignitie throughout all countreyes. I will therefore nowe prepare for him. So Dauid prepared very much before his death.

6 Sodann ließ er seinen Sohn Salomo rufen und beauftragte ihn, Jahwe, dem Gott Israels, einen Tempel zu bauen.

Then he called Salomon his sonne, and charged him to builde an house for the Lord God of Israel.

7 Da sprach David zu Salomo: Mein Sohn! Ich selbst hatte mir vorgenommen, dem Namen Jahwes, meines Gottes, einen Tempel zu bauen.

And Dauid said to Salomon, My sonne, I purposed with my selfe to builde an house to the Name of the Lord my God,

8 Es erging jedoch das Wort Jahwes an mich folgendermaßen: Du hast Blut in Menge vergossen und große Kriege geführt: du darfst meinem Namen kein Haus bauen, weil du vor meinem Angesichte viel Blut zur Erde vergossen hast.

But the worde of the Lord came to me, saying, Thou hast shed much blood, and hast made great battels: thou shalt not builde an house vnto my Name: for thou hast shead much blood vpon the earth in my sight.

9 Aber es wird dir ein Sohn geboren werden, der wird ein Mann der Ruhe sein, und ich will ihm Ruhe schaffen vor allen seinen Feinden ringsum. Denn er wird Salomo heißen, und Frieden und Ruhe will ich Israel unter seiner Regierung verleihen.

Beholde, a sonne is borne to thee, which shalbe a man of rest, for I will giue him rest from all his enemies rounde about: therefore his name is Salomon: and I will sende peace and quietnes vpon Israel in his dayes.

10 Der soll meinem Namen einen Tempel bauen; er soll mir Sohn, und ich will ihm Vater sein und will den Thron seines Königtums über Israel für immer bestätigen.

Hee shall builde an house for my Name, and he shalbe my sonne, and I will be his father, and I will establish the throne of his kingdome vpon Israel for euer.

11 Und nun, mein Sohn, - möge Jahwe mit dir sein, daß du Gelingen habest und den Tempel Jahwes, deines Gottes, bauest, wie er von dir verheißen hat!

Nowe therefore my sonne, the Lord shalbe with thee, and thou shalt prosper, and thou shalt builde an house to the Lord thy God, as he hath spoken of thee.

12 Möge dir Jahwe nur Klugheit und Einsicht verleihen und dich zum Herrscher über Israel bestellen und dazu, daß du das Gesetz Jahwes, deines Gottes, beobachtest.

Onely the Lord giue thee wisedome and vnderstanding, and giue thee charge ouer Israel, euen to keepe the Lawe of the Lord thy God.

13 Dann wirst du Gelingen haben, wenn du die Satzungen und Ordnungen, die Jahwe Mose und Israel anbefohlen hat, sorgsam einhältst. Sei mutig und stark! Sei getrost und laß dich nicht erschrecken!

Then thou shalt prosper, if thou take heede to obserue the statutes and the iudgements which the Lord commanded Moses for Israel: be strong and of good courage: feare not, neither bee afraide.

14 Siehe, trotz meiner Mühsal habe ich für den Tempel Jahwes beschafft: 100000 Talente Gold, eine Million Talente Silber, dazu Erz und Eisen so viel, daß es nicht zu wägen ist, denn es ist in Massen vorhanden. Auch Balken und Steine habe ich beschafft, und du wirst noch mehr dazuthun.

For beholde, according to my pouertie haue I prepared for the house of the Lord an hundreth thousand talents of golde, and a thousand thousande talents of siluer, and of brasse and of yron passing weight: for there was abundance: I haue also prepared timber and stone, and thou mayest prouide more thereto.

15 Auch Werkleute - Steinmetzen, Maurer und Zimmerleute - hast du in Menge zur Verfügung und allerlei Kunstverständige für allerlei Arbeiten

Moreouer thou hast workmen with thee enough, hewers of stone, and workemen for timber, and all men expert in euery worke.

16 in Gold, Silber, Erz und Eisen in zahlloser Menge. Auf, gehe ans Werk, und Jahwe möge mit dir sein!

Of golde, of siluer, and of brasse, and of yron there is no nomber: Vp therefore, and be doing, and the Lord wilbe with thee.

17 Sodann befahl David allen Fürsten Israels, seinen Sohn Salomo zu unterstützen, und sprach:

Dauid also commanded all the princes of Israel to helpe Salomon his sonne, saying,

18 War doch Jahwe, euer Gott, mit euch und hat euch ringsum Ruhe verschafft! Denn er hat die früheren Bewohner des Landes in meine Gewalt gegeben, und das Land mußte sich Jahwe und seinem Volk unterwerfen.

Is not the Lord your God with you, and hath giuen you rest on euerie side? for hee hath giuen the inhabitants of the land into mine hand, and the land is subdued before the Lord and before his people.

19 So richtet nun euer Herz und euren Sinn darauf, Jahwe, euren Gott, zu suchen. Macht euch daran, das Heiligtum Jahwes, Gottes, zu erbauen, damit ihr die Lade mit dem Gesetze Jahwes und die heiligen Geräte Gottes hineinbringen könnt in den Tempel, der dem Namen Jahwes erbaut werden soll.

Nowe set your hearts and your soules to seeke the Lord your God, and arise, and builde the Sanctuarie of the Lord God to bring the Arke of the couenant of the Lord, and the holy vessels of God into the house built for the Name of the Lord.
