4 Noah, Sem, Ham und Japhet.

Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

5 Die Söhne Japhets waren: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Mesech und Tiras.

The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.

6 Und die Söhne Gomers: Askenas, Riphath und Togarma.

And the sons of Gomer; Ashchenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.

7 Und die Söhne Javans: Elisa, Tarsis, die Kittiter und die Rodaniter.

And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.

8 Die Söhne Hams waren: Kusch, Mizraim, Put und Kanaan.

The sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.

9 Und die Söhne Kuschs: Seba, Havila, Sabta, Raema und Sabtecha, und die Söhne Raemas Saba und Dedan.

And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabta, and Raamah, and Sabtecha. And the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan.

10 Und Kusch erzeugte den Nimrod; dieser fing an, ein Gewaltiger zu werden auf der Erde.

And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be mighty upon the earth.

11 Und Mizraim erzeugte die Luditer, die Anamiter, die Lehabiter, die Naphtuhiter,

And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,

12 die Patrusiter, die Kasluhiter, von denen die Philister ausgegangen sind, und die Kaphtoriter.

And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (of whom came the Philistines, ) and Caphthorim.

13 Kanaan aber erzeugte Zidon, seinen Erstgeborenen, und Heth

And Canaan begat Zidon his firstborn, and Heth,

14 und die Jebusiter, Amoriter, Girgasiter,

The Jebusite also, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite,

15 Heviter, Arkiter, Siniter,

And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,

16 Arvaditer, Zemariter und Hamathiter.

And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite.

17 Die Söhne Sems waren: Elam, Assur, Arpachsad, Lud, Aram, Hul, Gether und Mas.

The sons of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram, and Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Meshech.

18 Arpachsad aber erzeugte Selah, und Selah erzeugte Eber.

And Arphaxad begat Shelah, and Shelah begat Eber.

19 Und dem Eber wurden zwei Söhne geboren; der eine hieß Peleg, weil sich zu seiner Zeit die Bevölkerung der Erde zerteilte, und sein Bruder hieß Joktan.

And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of the one [was] Peleg; because in his days the earth was divided: and his brother’s name [was] Joktan.

20 Und Joktan erzeugte Almodad, Saleph, Hazarmaweth, Jarah,

And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,

21 Hadoram, Usal, Dikla,

Hadoram also, and Uzal, and Diklah,

22 Ebal, Abimael, Saba,

And Ebal, and Abimael, and Sheba,

23 Ophir, Havila und Jobab: diese alle sind Söhne Joktans.

And Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab. All these [were] the sons of Joktan.

24 Sem, Arpachsad, Selah,

Shem, Arphaxad, Shelah,

25 Eber, Peleg, Reu,

Eber, Peleg, Reu,

26 Serug, Nahor, Tharah,

Serug, Nahor, Terah,

27 Abram, das ist Abraham.

Abram; the same [is] Abraham.

28 Die Söhne Abrahams waren Isaak und Ismael.

The sons of Abraham; Isaac, and Ishmael.

29 Dies ist ihr Stammbaum: der Erstgeborene Ismaels Nebajoth; Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,

These [are] their generations: The firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth; then Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,

30 Misma, Duma, Massa, Hadad, Thema,

Mishma, and Dumah, Massa, Hadad, and Tema,

31 Jetur, Naphis und Kedma: das sind die Söhne Ismaels.

Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. These are the sons of Ishmael.

32 Und die Söhne Keturas, des Kebsweibes Abrahams: sie gebar ihm Simran, Joksan, Medan, Midian, Jisbak und Suah, und die Söhne Joksans waren Seba und Dedan.

Now the sons of Keturah, Abraham’s concubine: she bare Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. And the sons of Jokshan; Sheba, and Dedan.

33 Und die Söhne Midians: Epha, Epher, Hanoch, Abida und Eldaa. Diese alle stammen von Ketura.

And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Henoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these [are] the sons of Keturah.

34 Und Abraham erzeugte Isaak; die Söhne Isaaks waren Esau und Israel.

And Abraham begat Isaac. The sons of Isaac; Esau and Israel.

35 Die Söhne Esaus waren: Eliphas, Reguel, Jehus, Jaelam und Korah.

The sons of Esau; Eliphaz, Reuel, and Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah.

36 Die Söhne Eliphas waren: Theman, Omar, Zephi, Gaetham, Kenas, Thimna und Amalek.

The sons of Eliphaz; Teman, and Omar, Zephi, and Gatam, Kenaz, and Timna, and Amalek.

37 Die Söhne Reguels waren: Nahath, Serah, Samma und Missa.

The sons of Reuel; Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.

38 Und die Söhne Seirs: Lotan, Sobal, Zibeon, Ana, Dison, Ezer und Disan.

And the sons of Seir; Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah, and Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan.

39 Und die Söhne Lotans: Hori und Homam; und die Schwester Lotans war Thimna.

And the sons of Lotan; Hori, and Homam: and Timna [was] Lotan’s sister.

40 Die Söhne Sobals waren: Aljan, Manahath, Ebal, Sephi und Onam. Und die Söhne Zibeons Ajja und Ana.

The sons of Shobal; Alian, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shephi, and Onam. And the sons of Zibeon; Aiah, and Anah.

41 Die Söhne Anas waren: Dison. Und die Söhne Disons: Hamran, Esban, Jithran und Keran.

The sons of Anah; Dishon. And the sons of Dishon; Amram, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran.

42 Die Söhne Ezers waren: Bilhan, Sawan und Jaakan. Die Söhne Disans waren: Uz und Aram.

The sons of Ezer; Bilhan, and Zavan, [and] Jakan. The sons of Dishan; Uz, and Aran.

43 Und dies sind die Könige, die im Lande Edom geherrscht haben, bevor es einen König der Israeliten gab: Bela, der Sohn Beors, und seine Residenz hieß Dinhaba.

Now these [are] the kings that reigned in the land of Edom before [any] king reigned over the children of Israel; Bela the son of Beor: and the name of his city [was] Dinhabah.

44 Als Bela gestorben war, wurde Jobab, der Sohn Serahs, aus Bosra König an seiner Statt.

And when Bela was dead, Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead.

45 Als Jobab gestorben war, wurde Husam aus dem Lande der Themaniter König an seiner Statt.

And when Jobab was dead, Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his stead.

46 Als Husam gestorben war, wurde Hadad, der Sohn Bedads, König an seiner Statt, derselbe, der die Midianiter auf der Hochebene von Moab schlug; und seine Residenz hieß Awith.

And when Husham was dead, Hadad the son of Bedad, which smote Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his stead: and the name of his city [was] Avith.

47 Als Hadad gestorben war, wurde Samla aus Masreka König an seiner Statt.

And when Hadad was dead, Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead.

48 Als Samla gestorben war, wurde Saul aus Rehoboth am Euphratstrome König an seiner Statt.

And when Samlah was dead, Shaul of Rehoboth by the river reigned in his stead.

49 Als Saul gestorben war, wurde Baal-hanan, der Sohn Achbors, König an seiner Statt.

And when Shaul was dead, Baal-hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his stead.

50 Als Baal-hanan gestorben war, wurde Hadad König an seiner Statt; seine Residenz aber hieß Pagi und sein Weib Mehetabeel, die Tochter Matreds, der Tochter Mesahabs.

And when Baal-hanan was dead, Hadad reigned in his stead: and the name of his city [was] Pai; and his wife’s name [was] Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.

51 Und Hadad starb; und die Häuptlinge von Edom waren: der Häuptling Thimna, der Häuptling Alwa, der Häuptling Jetheth,

Hadad died also. And the dukes of Edom were; duke Timnah, duke Aliah, duke Jetheth,

52 der Häuptling Oholibama, der Häuptling Ela, der Häuptling Pinon,

Duke Aholibamah, duke Elah, duke Pinon,

53 der Häuptling Kenas, der Häuptling Theman, der Häuptling Mibzar,

Duke Kenaz, duke Teman, duke Mibzar,

54 der Häuptling Magdiel, der Häuptling Iran. Das sind die Häuptlinge von Edom.

Duke Magdiel, duke Iram. These [are] the dukes of Edom.
