Psalm 70

1 Auf den Siegesspender, von David, zum Erlernen. Gott, eile, mich zu retten, Herr, mir zu helfen!

God, please save me! Yahweh, come quickly to help me!

2 Beschämt und schamrot sollen werden die Feinde meines Lebens! Mit Schmach bedeckt die Flucht ergreifen all, die mir übel wollen!

Humble those who are happy about my troubles/difficulties, and cause them to be disgraced/ashamed. Chase away those who are trying to kill me.

3 Und auf der Seele sollen ihre Schande tragen, die höhnisch rufen "Ha! Ha!"

I hope/desire that you will cause them to become dismayed and ashamed [because you have defeated them].

4 Doch jubeln sollen über Dich, vor Freude alle, die Dich suchen! Und allzeit sollen rufen: "Gott ist groß", die Deinen Sieg sich wünschen!

[But] I hope/desire that all those who go to [worship] you will be very joyful [DOU]. I want those who love you because you saved them to shout repeatedly [HYP], “God is great!”

5 Doch ich bin arm und elend. Gott, eiligst her zu mir! Du bist mein Schutz und Retter. Herr, säume nicht.

As for me, I am poor and needy [DOU]; [so] God, come quickly to help me! Yahweh, you are the one who saves and helps me, [so please] come quickly!
