Psalm 16
1 Ein Weihegesang, von David. - Beacht mich, Herr, wie ich bei Dir mich berge! -
Michtam of David. Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.
2 Ich spreche zu dem Herrn: "Du Herr! Du bist mein Glück; nichts geht mir über Dich."
[O my soul], thou hast said to the LORD, Thou [art] my LORD: my goodness [extendeth] not to thee;
3 Die Heiligtümer, die im Land, die wundervollen, sind meine ganze Freude.
[But] to the saints that [are] in the earth, and [to] the excellent, in whom [is] all my delight.
4 Die mehren ihre Schmerzen, die einem anderen zueilen. Ich nehme nimmer teil an ihren Blutspenden und bringe nicht auf meine Lippen ihre Namen.
Their sorrows shall be multiplied [that] hasten [after] another [god]: their drink-offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take their names into my lips.
5 Der Herr ist ja mein Anteil und mein Becher. - Du wirfst mein Los. -
The LORD [is] the portion of my inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
6 Die Lose sind für mich aufs Lieblichste gefallen; der Erbanteil gefällt mir über alle Maßen.
The lines have fallen to me in pleasant [places]; yes, I have a goodly heritage.
7 Den Herren preise ich, der mich berät, und auch die Nächte, da mich mein Gewissen mahnte.
I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night season.
8 Ich stelle stets vor mich den Herrn; ich wanke nicht, wenn er zu meiner Rechten steht. -
I have set the LORD always before me: because [he is] at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
9 Drob freue sich mein Herz und juble mein Gemüt! Und sicher ruht mein Leib.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
10 Du läßt nicht meine Seele in der Unterwelt, und Deinen Frommen läßt Du nicht Verwesung spüren. (Sheol h7585)
For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thy Holy One to see corruption. (Sheol h7585)
11 Du tust mir kund des Lebens Pfad zur Fülle jener Freuden, die bei Dir nur sind, zu ewigen Wonnen, die in Deiner Rechten.
Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence [is] fullness of joy; at thy right hand [are] pleasures for evermore.
