Psalm 119
1 Glückselig, die unsträflich leben und in des Herrn Gesetzen wandeln!
[ALEPH.] How happy the men of blameless life, who walk in the law of Yahweh.
2 Glückselig sind, die seine Bräuche achten und ihn von ganzem Herzen suchen,
How happy they who observe his testimonies, with a whole heart, they seek him.
3 die nie ein Unrecht tun und die auf seinen Wegen wandeln!
Yea, they have not wrought perversity, In his ways, have they walked.
4 Du selbst gibst Deine Vorschriften, daß man genau sie halte.
Thou, hast commanded thy precepts, that they should be diligently kept.
5 Ach, wäre fest mein Wandel in der Befolgung Deiner Ordnungen!
Oh would that my ways might be settled! that I might keep thy statutes.
6 Dann werde ich niemals zuschanden, beacht ich alle Deine Satzungen.
Then, shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.
7 Ich danke Dir von Herzensgrunde, wenn ich erlerne Deine so gerechten Weisungen.
I will thank thee with uprightness of heart, when I have learned thy righteous regulations.
8 Genau beachten will ich Deine Vorschriften. Verlaß mich nicht dabei!
Thy statutes, will I keep, Do not thou forsake me utterly.
9 Wodurch erhält ein Jüngling seinen Wandel rein? Wenn er sich hält an Deine Worte.
[BETH.] Wherewithal can a young man keep pure his way? By taking heed, according to thy word.
10 Von ganzem Herzen suche ich Dich auf. Entfremde mich nicht Deinen Satzungen!
With all my heart, have I sought thee, Suffer me not to be led astray from thy commandments.
11 In meinem Herzen berge ich Dein Wort, auf daß ich wider Dich nicht sündige.
In my heart, have I treasured what thou hast said, to the end I may not sin against thee.
12 Gepriesen seist Du, Herr! Gewöhne mich an Deine Ordnungen!
Blessed art thou, O Yahweh—Teach me thy statutes.
13 Auswendig sag ich auf all Deine mündlichen Gebote.
With my lips, have I recounted All the regulations of thy mouth.
14 Ich freue mich des Weges hin zu Deinen Zeugnissen weit mehr als über irgendwelche Schätze.
In the way of thy testimonies, have I rejoiced, Like as over all riches.
15 Was Du befiehlst, dem sinn ich nach und schaue hin auf Deine Pfade.
In thy precepts, will I meditate, that I may discern thy paths.
16 Mit Deinen Ordnungen befasse ich mich gern, vergesse nicht Dein Wort.
In thy statutes, will I find my dear delight, I will not forget thy word.
17 Gewähre Deinem Knechte, daß ich leben bleibe! Dann halte ich Dein Wort.
[GIMEL.] Bestow thy bounties upon thy servant—let me live, That I may observe thy word.
18 Entschleiere mir das Auge, daß ich schaue, was wunderbar an Deiner Lehre!
Unveil thou mine eyes, that I may discern Wondrous things out of thy law.
19 Ein Fremdling bin ich in dem Lande. Verbirg mir nimmer Deine Satzungen!
A sojourner, am, I, in the earth, Do not hide from me, thy commandments.
20 In Sehnsucht meine Seele sich verzehrt nach Deinen Weisungen zu jeder Zeit.
My soul is crushed with longing for thy just decisions at all times.
21 Du schiltst die Frechen. Verfluchst, die Deine Satzungen mißachten!
Thou hast rebuked the proud as accursed, who stray from thy commandments.
22 Wend Spott und Hohn von mir; denn Deine Zeugnisse, ich achte sie!
Roll from off me, reproach and contempt, For, thy testimonies, have I observed.
23 Ob Fürsten auch sich wider mich beraten, Dein Knecht beherzigt dennoch Deine Ordnungen.
Even rulers have taken their seat, against me, have talked, Thy servant, will still meditate in thy statutes.
24 Ja, Wonne sind mir Deine Zeugnisse, Wegweiser sind mir Deine Vorschriften.
Yea, thy testimonies, are my dear delight, My counsellors.
25 Am Staube klebe ich. Erhalte mich nach Deinem Wort am Leben!
[DALETH.] My soul, cleaveth to the dust, Give me life, according to thy word.
26 Ich lege meine Wege dar, und Du erhörst mich. Gewöhne mich an Deine Satzungen!
My ways, I recounted, and thou didst answer me, Teach me thy statutes.
27 Gib Einsicht mir ins Wesen Deiner Vorschriften! Dann will ich Deine Wunder überdenken.
The way of thy precepts, cause thou me to understand, and I will indeed meditate in thy wonders.
28 Vor Leid weint meine Seele. Richt mich nach Deinem Worte auf!
My soul weepeth itself away, for grief, Confirm thou me, according to thy word.
29 Halt fern von mir den Pfad der Untreue! Zu eigen gib mir Deine Lehre gnädiglich!
The way of falsehood, take thou from me, and, with thy law, O favour me.
30 Den Weg der Treue wähle ich, befolge Deine Weisungen.
The way of faithfulness, have I chosen, Thy regulations, have I deemed right.
31 Ich hänge fest an Deinen Zeugnissen. Herr, laß mich nicht zuschanden werden!
I have kept close to thy testimonies, O Yahweh! do not put me to shame.
32 Ich laufe auf dem Wege Deiner Ordnungen; Du machst mir weit das Herz.
The way of thy commandments, will I run, for thou wilt enlarge my heart.
33 Zeig mir den Weg zu Deinen Vorschriften, o Herr! Ich will ihn mit Bedacht einhalten.
[HE.] Point out to me, O Yahweh, the way of thy statutes, that I may observe it unto the end.
34 Gib Einsicht mir, daß ich befolge Deine Lehre und sie mit ganzem Herzen hüte!
Give me understanding, that I may observe thy law, that I may keep it with a whole heart.
35 Laß Deiner Satzung Pfad mich wallen! Denn Freude habe ich daran.
Guide me in the path of thy commandments, for, therein, do I find pleasure.
36 Zu Deinen Bräuchen lenke hin mein Herz und nicht zur Eigenliebe!
Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not unto unjust gain.
37 Lenk meine Augen ab vom Schielen nach dem Eitlen! Auf Deinen Wegen laß mich Leben finden!
Turn away mine eyes, from beholding vanity, In thy way, give me life.
38 Bewähr an Deinem Knecht Dein Wort, das zu der Ehrfurcht vor Dir leiten soll!
Establish, unto thy servant, thy word, which pertaineth to the reverence of thee.
39 Nimm meine Schmach hinweg, daß ich gezweifelt, ob Deine Weisungen auch heilsam seien!
Cause to pass away my reproach, that I have feared, for, thy regulations, are good.
40 Nach Deinen Vorschriften verlangt es mich. In Deiner Liebe laß mich leben!
Lo! I have longed for thy precepts, In thy righteousness, give me life.
41 Herr! Deine Gnade komme über mich, Dein Heil nach Deinem Worte,
[WAW.] And let thy lovingkindness reach me, O Yahweh, thy salvation, according to thy word.
42 daß ich entgegne meinem Schmäher! Denn Deinem Wort vertraue ich.
So shall I have something to answer him that reproacheth me, That I have trusted in thy word.
43 Versag nicht meinem Mund das rechte Wort! Auf Deine Weisung harr ich sehnsuchtsvoll.
And do not snatch away from my mouth the word of truth in any wise, because, for thy regulation, have I waited.
44 Stets will ich Deiner Lehre folgen, für immer und auf ewig,
That I may keep thy law continually, to times age-abiding and beyond.
45 nach ihr, der überreichen, wandeln. Nach Deinen Vorschriften verlangt es mich.
That I may walk to and fro in a large place, because, thy precepts, have I sought.
46 Vor Königen selbst rede ich von Deinen Zeugnissen ohn alle Scheu.
That I may speak of thy testimonies before kings, and not be ashamed.
47 Ich habe meine Lust an Deinen Satzungen; ich liebe sie.
That I may find dear delight in thy commandments, which I have loved.
48 Ich rege meine Hände eifervoll für Deine so geliebten Satzungen und sinne über Deine Ordnungen.
That I may lift up my hands unto thy commandments, which I have loved, and may meditate in thy statutes.
49 Gedenke Deinem Diener jenes Wort, auf das Du mich fest hoffen lässest!
[ZAYIN.] Remember the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope.
50 Dies ist mein Trost in meinem Leid, daß Lebensmut Dein Wort mir gibt.
This, is my comfort in mine affliction, that, thy word, hath given me life.
51 So sehr Vermessene meiner spotten, ich weiche nicht von Deiner Lehre.
Insolent men, have derided me exceedingly, From thy law, have I not swerved.
52 An Deine Weisungen, die alten, denke ich und fühle mich getröstet, Herr.
I have remembered thy regulations, [which have come down] from age-past times, O Yahweh, and have consoled myself.
53 Der Frevler wegen packt mich Zornesglut, die Deine Lehre schnöd verlassen.
A raging heat, hath seized me, by reason of the lawless, who forsake thy law.
54 Zu Lobesliedern sind mir Deine Ordnungen geworden im Haus, wo ich als Fremdling weile.
Songs, have thy statutes become to me, in my house of sojourn.
55 Ich denke, Herr, an Deinen Namen in der Nacht, an Deine Lehre selbst in mitternächtiger Stunde.
I have remembered, in the night, thy Name, O Yahweh, and have kept thy law.
56 Zum Grundsatz ward mir dies, weil ich um Deine Vorschriften mich kümmere:
This, have I had, because, thy precepts, have I observed.
57 "Mein Alles ist der Herr", das deut ich so: Ich muß die Worte Dein beachten.
[HETH.] My portion, is Yahweh, I have promised that I would keep thy words.
58 Von ganzem Herzen werbe ich um Deine Huld. Sei gnädig mir nach Deinem Wort!
I have sought the smile of thy face with all my heart, Show me favour, according to thy word.
59 Ich überlege meine Wege und lenke meine Füß hin zu Deinen Zeugnissen.
I have thought upon my ways, and have turned my feet unto thy testimonies.
60 Ich eile, säume nicht, zu halten Deine Satzungen.
I have hastened, and not delayed, to keep thy commandments.
61 Der Frevler Stricke wollen mich umfangen; doch ich vergesse nimmer Deine Lehre.
The meshes of the lawless, have surrounded me, Thy law, have I not forgotten.
62 Um Mitternacht erhebe ich mich schon und danke Dir für Deine Weisungen, die so gerecht,
At midnight, I arise to give thanks unto thee, For thy righteous regulations.
63 im Wetteifer mit allen, die Dich fürchten, die Deine Vorschriften befolgen.
Companion, am I, to all who revere thee, and to them who keep thy precepts.
64 Voll Deiner Gnade ist die Erde, Herr. Gewöhne mich an Deine Satzungen!
Of thy lovingkindness, O Yahweh, the earth, is full, Thy statutes, teach thou me.
65 Du tust an Deinem Knechte Gutes, nach Deinem Worte, Herr.
[TETH.] Well, hast thou dealt with thy servant, O Yahweh, according to thy word.
66 So lehre mich heilsame Sitte und Erkenntnis! Denn Deinen Satzungen vertraue ich.
Good judgment and knowledge, teach thou me, For, in thy commandments, have I trusted.
67 Bevor ich leiden mußte, irrte ich; nun aber halte ich Dein Wort.
Before I was afflicted, I myself was going astray, but, now, thy word, have I kept.
68 Du bist so gut und handelst gut. Gewöhne mich an Deine Satzungen!
Good, thou art, and doing good, Teach me thy statutes.
69 Mir dichten Freche Falsches an; ich aber halte Deine Vorschriften aus ganzem Herzen.
Insolent men have plastered falsehood over me, I, with a whole heart, will observe thy precepts.
70 Ihr Herz ist stumpf wie Fett; doch ich ergötze mich an Deiner Lehre.
Gross, like fat, is their heart, I, in thy law, have found dear delight.
71 Mir war es heilsam, daß ich litt, damit ich mich an Deine Ordnungen gewöhnte.
It is, well for me, that I was afflicted, That I might learn thy statutes.
72 Dein mündliches Gesetz gilt mir weit mehr als tausend Stücke Gold und Silber.
Better to me, is the law of thy mouth, than thousands of gold and silver.
73 Von Deiner Hand bin ich geschaffen und gebildet. Verleih mir Einsicht, daß ich mich an Deine Satzungen gewöhne!
[YODH.] Thine own hands, have made me, and formed me. Give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments.
74 Mit Freuden sehen, die Dich fürchten, daß ich mich auf Dein Wort verlasse.
They who revere thee, shall see me and rejoice, that, for thy word, I waited.
75 Ich weiß es, Herr: Gerecht sind Deine Weisungen; in bester Absicht hast Du mich gezüchtigt.
I know, O Yahweh, that righteous are thy regulations, and, in faithfulness, didst thou afflict me.
76 Zum Troste sei mir Deine Huld, wie Deinem Knechte Du verheißen
Let thy lovingkindness, I beseech thee, serve to comfort me, according to thy word to thy servant.
77 Laß Dein Erbarmen mich erquicken! Denn Deine Lehre ist mir Lust.
Let thy compassions reach me, that I may live, for, thy law, is my dear delight.
78 Schmach über diese Frechen, weil grundlos sie zu Unrecht mich bezichtigen! Ich sinne über Deine Vorschriften.
Let insolent men, be ashamed, because, by means of falsehood, they have dealt with me perversely, I, will meditate in thy precepts.
79 Sie mögen sich durch mich in solche wandeln, die fürchten Dich und schätzen lernen Deine Zeugnisse!
Let them who revere thee, turn unto me, even they who know thy testimonies.
80 Unfehlbar sei mein Herz in Deinen Ordnungen, damit ich nicht erröten muß!
Let my heart be thorough in thy statutes, that I may not be ashamed.
81 Nach Deinem Heile schmachtet meine Seele, ich harre Deines Wortes.
[KAPH.] My soul, hath languished for thy salvation, For thy word, have I hoped.
82 Nach Deinem Worte schmachten meine Augen: "Wann bringt's mir Trost?"
Mine eyes have failed for thy word, saying, When wilt thou comfort me?
83 Bin ich auch wie ein Schlauch im Rauche, vergesse ich doch niemals Deine Ordnungen.
Though I have been like a wine-skin in the smoke, thy statutes, have I not forgotten.
84 Wieviel sind noch der Tage Deines Knechtes? Wann richtest Du, die mich verfolgen?
How few are the days of thy servant! When wilt thou execute sentence on my persecutors?
85 Mir graben Freche Gruben in dem, was Deiner Lehre nicht entspricht.
Insolent men digged for me pits, men who are not according to thy law.
86 Was Du befiehlst, ist lautre Wahrheit; grundlos verfolgt man mich. Komm mir zu Hilfe!
All thy commandments, are faithful, With falsehood, have they persecuted me, O help me!
87 Beinah vertilgten sie mich von der Erde; doch laß ich nicht von Deinen Vorschriften.
A little more, and they had consumed me in the earth, but, I, forsake not thy precepts.
88 Nach Deiner Huld erhalte mich am Leben, daß Deines Mundes Lehre ich befolge!
According to thy lovingkindness, give thou me life, so will I keep the testimonies of thy mouth.
89 Dein Wort ist für die Ewigkeiten, Herr; dem Himmel gleich, so steht es fest gegründet.
[LAMED.] Age-abidingly, O Yahweh, hath thy word been set up in the heavens.
90 Durch alle Zeiten währet Deine Treue, wie Du die Erde für die Dauer hast gegründet.
To generation after generation, is thy faithfulness, Thou hast established the earth, and it standeth.
91 Für Deine Winke steht sie heut bereit; denn alles ist Dir untertan.
By thy regulations, do they stand to-day, for, all, are thy servants.
92 Wenn Deine Lehre mir nicht Wonne wäre, vergangen wäre ich in meinem Leid.
Had not thy law been my dear delight, then, had I perished in mine affliction.
93 Nie will ich Deine Vorschriften vergessen; denn Du verleihst mir dadurch Lebenskraft.
Unto times age-abiding, will I not forget thy precepts, For, by them, hast thou given me life.
94 Dein bin ich. Steh mir bei! Denn ich durchforsche Deine Vorschriften.
Thine, am I, —oh save me! For, thy precepts, have I sought.
95 Mir lauern Frevler auf, mich umzubringen; doch ich vertiefe mich in Deine Zeugnisse.
For me, have the lawless waited, to destroy me, Thy testimonies, will I diligently consider.
96 Bei allem anderen, was enden soll, ersehe ich ein Ende; doch Dein Gebot ist übergroß.
To all perfection, have I seen an end, Broad is thy commandment, exceedingly.
97 Wie lieb ich Deine Lehre! Sie ist mein täglich Sinnen.
[MEM.] Oh how I love thy law! All the day, is it my (meditation)
98 Mich macht weit klüger Deine Satzung, als meine Feinde sind; denn ich besitze sie für immer.
Beyond mine enemies, will thy commandment make me wise, for, age-abidingly, shall it be mine.
99 Verständiger noch werde ich als alle meine Lehrer; denn Deine Zeugnisse sind all mein Sinnen.
Beyond all my teachers, have I shown discretion, for, thy testimonies, are my (meditation)
100 An Einsicht übertreff ich Greise; denn ich beachte Deine Satzungen.
Beyond the elders, will I show understanding, for, thy precepts, have I observed.
101 Ich wehre meinem Fuße jeden bösen Weg, auf daß ich Deines Wortes pflege.
From every way of wickedness, have I withheld my feet, that I might keep thy word.
102 Ich weiche nicht von deinen Weisungen; denn Du belehrest mich.
From thy regulations, have I not turned aside, for, thou, hast directed me.
103 Wie süß sind meinem Gaumen Deine Worte, weit süßer meinem Mund als Honigseim!
How smooth to my palate is thy speech, More than honey, to my mouth.
104 Verständig werde ich durch Deine Vorschriften; drum hasse ich auch jeden falschen Pfad.
Out of thy precepts, will I get understanding, For this cause, do I hate every false way.
105 Dein Wort ist meines Fußes Leuchte, ein Licht auf meinem Pfade.
[NUN.] A lamp to my feet, is thy word, and a light to my path.
106 Ich hab's mir eidlich vorgenommen, was Du gerecht befohlen, auch zu halten.
I sware, and have fulfilled, To keep thy righteous regulations.
107 Ich bin gar tief gebeugt. Nach Deinem Worte, Herr, belebe mich!
I have been afflicted exceedingly, —O Yahweh, give me life according to thy word.
108 Laß, Herr, Dir meines Mundes Übungen gefallen! Gewöhne mich an Deine Weisungen!
The freewill offerings of my mouth, accept, I pray thee, O Yahweh, And, thy regulations, teach thou me.
109 Mein Leben ist beständig in Gefahr; doch ich vergesse Deine Lehre nicht.
My life, is in my hand continually, Yet, thy law, have I not forgotten.
110 Mir legen Frevler Schlingen; ich irre nimmer ab von Deinen Vorschriften. -
The lawless have set a snare for me, Yet, from thy precepts, have I not strayed.
111 Ein ewig Erbgut sind mir Deine Zeugnisse; ja, Herzenswonne sind sie mir.
As an inheritance have I taken thy testimonies unto times age-abiding, for, the joy of my heart, they are.
112 Ich neige hin mein Herz, zu tun, was Du befiehlst, für immer auf das eifrigste.
I have inclined my heart to perform thy statutes, Age-abidingly, to the end.
113 Ich hasse Zweifler; doch Deine Lehre liebe ich.
[SAMECH.] Half-hearted ones, do I hate, but, thy law, do I love.
114 Mein Schirm und Schild bist Du; ich harre Deines Wortes.
My hiding-place and my buckler, thou art, For thy word, have I waited.
115 Hinweg von mir, ihr Übeltäter! Ich will ja meines Gottes Satzungen befolgen.
Depart from me, ye evil-doers, —that I may observe the commandments of my God.
116 Nach Deinem Worte stärke mich, auf daß ich lebe! Beschäme mich in meiner Hoffnung nicht!
Uphold me according to thy word, that I may live, and do not shame me out of my hope!
117 Halt Du mich fest, daß ich gerettet werde! Ich schaue stets nach Deinen Ordnungen.
Sustain me, that I may be saved, and may find dear delight in thy statutes continually.
118 Die sich vergehn an Deinen Ordnungen, die wirfst Du weg; denn Trug ist all ihr Sinnen.
Thou hast made light of all who stray from thy statutes, for their fraud is, falsehood.
119 Die Frevler all auf Erden achtest Du wie Schlacken; drum liebe ich auch Deine Zeugnisse.
Dross, have I accounted all the lawless of the earth, therefore do I love thy testimonies.
120 Aus Furcht vor Dir erschaudert mir die Haut; Ich fürchte mich vor Deinen Strafgerichten.
My flesh, bristled up from dread of thee, and, of thy regulations, stand I in fear.
121 Das Rechte tu ich und das Gute. Gib meinen Drängern mich nicht preis!
[AYIN.] I have done justice and righteousness, —Do not leave me to mine oppressors.
122 Vertritt zu seinem Besten Deinen Knecht, daß nicht die Stolzen mir Gewalt antun!
Be thou surety for thy servant for good, Let not insolent men oppress me.
123 Nach Deiner Hilfe schmachten meine Augen, nach Deiner Heilsverheißung.
Mine eyes, have become dim for thy salvation, and for thy righteous word.
124 Verfahr mit Deinem Knecht nach Deiner Huld! Gewöhne mich an Deine Ordnungen!
Deal with thy servant according to thy lovingkindness, and, thy statutes, teach thou me.
125 Dein Knecht bin ich. Belehre mich, auf daß ich Deine Bräuche wohl verstehe!
Thy servant, I am—give me understanding, so shall I get to know thy testimonies.
126 's ist Zeit, sich für den Herrn zu regen; sie wollen Dein Gesetz abschaffen.
It is time that Yahweh should work, They have frustrated thy law!
127 Drum liebe ich auch Deine Satzungen viel mehr als Gold, als selbst das feinste Gold.
For this cause, do I love thy commandments, More than gold, yea than fine gold!
128 Drum habe ich all Deine Vorschriften mir auserwählt; ich hasse jeden falschen Weg.
For this cause, all thy precepts concerning all things, I deem right, Every way of falsehood, I hate.
129 Geheimnisvoll sind Deine Zeugnisse drum achtet ihrer meine Seele.
[PE.] Wonderful are thy testimonies, For this cause, hath my soul observed them.
130 Dein Wort erschließen spendet Licht; es macht die Einfalt klug.
The opening of thy words, sheddeth light, Giving understanding to the simple.
131 Begierig öffne ich den Mund; denn mich verlangt nach Deinen Satzungen.
My mouth, have I opened wide, and panted, because, for thy commandments, have I longed.
132 Wend Dich zu mir und sei mir gnädig, wie's Rechtens ist für die, die Deinen Namen lieben!
Turn thyself unto me, and show me favour, —As is befitting, to the lovers of thy Name.
133 In Deinem Wort mach meine Schritte fest! Laß nicht das Böse herrschen über mich!
My steps, direct thou by thy word, and let no iniquity, have dominion over me.
134 Von Menschendruck befreie mich, damit ich Deine Vorschriften befolge!
Set me free from the oppression of man, so will I keep thy precepts.
135 Laß Deinem Knecht Dein Antlitz leuchten! Gewöhne mich an Deine Ordnungen!
Thy face, light thou up on thy servant, and teach me thy statutes.
136 Aus meinen Augen strömen Wasserbäche für die, die Deine Lehre nicht befolgen.
Streams of water, have run down mine eyes, because men have not kept thy law.
137 Gerecht bist Du, o Herr, und Deine Weisungen sind recht.
[ZADHE.] Righteous art thou, O Yahweh, —and, equitable, are thy regulations.
138 Ganz recht sind Deine Bräuche, die Du bestimmst, und lauter Wahrheit.
Thou hast righteously commanded thy testimonies, yea in great faithfulness.
139 Mein Eifer zehrt mich auf, daß meine Gegner Deine Worte so vergessen.
My zeal, hath put an end to me, for mine adversaries have forgotten thy words.
140 Dein Wort ist rein geläutert; Dein Knecht hat's lieb.
Refined is thy word, to the uttermost, and, thy servant loveth it.
141 Gering, verachtet bin ich zwar; doch ich vergesse nimmer Deine Vorschriften.
Small, am I, and despised, Thy precepts, have I not forgotten.
142 Dein Recht bleibt ewig Recht; Wahrheit ist Deine Lehre.
Thy righteousness, is righteous to times age-abiding, and, thy law, is truth.
143 Mich treffen Not und Angst; doch Wonne sind mir Deine Satzungen.
Straitness and distress, have befallen me, Thy commandments, are my dear delights.
144 Allzeit sind Deine Bräuche richtig. Gib Einsicht mir, daß ich am Leben bleibe!
Righteous are thy testimonies, unto times age-abiding, Give me understanding, that I may live.
145 Von ganzem Herzen rufe ich: "Herr, höre mich! Ich möchte Deine Ordnungen befolgen!"
[KOPH.] I have cried out with all my heart, answer me, O Yahweh; Thy statutes, will I observe.
146 "Hilf mir!" so rufe ich zu Dir. "Ich möchte Deine Zeugnisse beachten."
I have cried out unto thee, oh save me, That I may keep thy testimonies.
147 Zur Zeit der Dämmerung erheb ich mich und flehe; ich harre Deines Wortes.
I forestalled the twilight, and cried for help, For thy word, I waited.
148 Bevor der Morgen graut, sind meine Augen wach, Dein Wort zu überdenken.
Mine eyes forestalled the night-watches, To meditate in thy word.
149 Nach Deiner Huld erhöre mein Gebet! Wie's Deine Art ist, laß mich leben!
My voice, O hear, according to thy lovingkindness, O Yahweh! according to thy wont, give me life.
150 Die nach dem Laster jagen, kommen diesem immer näher und Deiner Lehre immer ferner.
They have drawn near, who pursue villainy, From thy law, have they gone far away.
151 Jedoch auch Du bist nahe, Herr; all Deine Satzungen sind Wahrheit.
Near art thou, O Yahweh, and, all thy commandments, are truth.
152 Von Urzeit her, so weiß ich es von Deinen Zeugnissen, Du hast sie eingesetzt für immer.
Long, have I known, from thy testimonies, That, to times age-abiding, thou didst establish them.
153 Sieh her auf meine Not und rette mich! Ich habe Deine Lehre nicht vergessen.
[RESH.] Behold mine affliction, and rescue me, For, thy law, have I not forgotten.
154 Zu meiner Rettung führe meine Sache! Nach Deinem Worte laß mich leben!
Plead my cause, and redeem me, By thy word, give me life
155 Den Frevlern ferne ist das Heil, weil sie nach Deinen Ordnungen nichts fragen.
Far from the lawless, is salvation, For, thy statutes, have they not sought.
156 Gar groß ist Dein Erbarmen, Herr. Laß mich, wie's Deine Art ist, leben!
Thy compassions, are great, O Yahweh, According to thy regulations, give me life.
157 Obschon mich viele drängen und verfolgen, so weiche ich doch nicht von Deinen Zeugnissen.
Many, are my persecutors and mine adversaries, From thy testimonies, have I not swerved.
158 Erblick ich Treulose, streit ich mit ihnen, dieweil Dein Wort sie nicht beachten.
I have seen traitors, and felt loathing, Because, thy word, they kept not.
159 Wie gerne hab ich Deine Vorschriften! Erhalte mich nach Deiner Huld am Leben, Herr!
See thou that, thy precepts, I have loved, O Yahweh, according to thy lovingkindness, give me life.
160 Beständigkeit ist Deines Wortes Eigenart; für immer gelten Deine so gerechten Weisungen.
The sum of thy word, is truth, and, age-abiding, is every one of thy righteous regulations.
161 Von Fürsten werd ich ohne Grund verfolgt; doch nur vor Deinem Worte bebt mein Herz.
[SHIN.] Rulers, have persecuted me, without cause, But, of thy word, hath my heart stood in awe.
162 Ich freue mich ob Deines Wortes, wie der, so reiche Beute findet.
Joyful am I over thy word, Like the finder of spoil in abundance.
163 Mit großem Abscheu hasse ich die Falschheit; nur Deine Lehre liebe ich.
Falsehood, I hate and abhor, Thy law, do I love.
164 Ich preise Dich des Tages siebenmal für Deine so gerechten Weisungen.
Seven times in the day, have I praised thee, For thy righteous regulations.
165 Die Deine Lehre lieben, ernten reichen Frieden; für sie gibt's keinen Anstoß mehr.
Blessing in abundance, have the lovers of thy law, and nothing to make them stumble.
166 Ich harre Deines Heiles, Herr, und Deine Satzungen befolge ich.
I have looked for thy salvation, O Yahweh, and, thy commandments, have I done.
167 Auf Deine Zeugnisse hat meine Seele acht und liebt sie über alle Maßen.
My soul hath kept thy testimonies, yea I have loved them greatly.
168 Ich achte Deine Vorschriften und Bräuche; all meine Wege liegen ja vor Dir.
I have kept thy precepts, and thy testimonies, For, all my ways, are before thee.
169 Laß vor Dich kommen, Herr, mein Flehen! Nach Deinem Worte gib mir Einsicht!
[TAU] Let my shouting come near before thee, O Yahweh, According to thy word, give me understanding.
170 Mein Flehen komme vor Dein Angesicht! Errette mich nach Deinem Wort!
Let my supplication come in before thee, According to thy word, deliver me.
171 Ein Loblied ström von meinen Lippen, gewöhnst Du mich an Deine Ordnungen!
My lips, shall pour out, praise, When thou shalt teach me thy statutes.
172 Dein Wort besinge meine Zunge! Denn alle Deine Satzungen sind Recht.
My tongue, shall respond, with thy word, For, all thy commandments, are righteous.
173 Zum Beistand reiche mir die Hand! Denn Deine Vorschriften hab ich erwählt.
Be thy hand ready to help me, For, thy statutes, have I chosen.
174 Nach Deinem Heil verlangt's mich, Herr, und Wonne ist mir Deine Lehre.
I have longed for thy salvation, O Yahweh, and, thy law, is my dear delight.
175 So möge leben meine Seele und Dich preisen, und dazu mögen mir verhelfen Deine Weisungen!
Let my soul live, that it may praise thee, So shall thy regulation help me.
176 Wie ein verloren Schäflein irre ich umher. Such Deinen Knecht! Denn ich vergesse niemals Deine Satzungen.
I have strayed like a wandering sheep, O seek thy servant, For, thy commandments, have I not forgotten.
