Psalm 102
1 Gebet für einen Elenden, wenn er verzagt vor dem Herrn seine Klage ausschüttet. Herr! Höre mein Gebet, und laß mein Rufen zu Dir kommen!
The prayer of the poor man, when he was anxious, and poured out his supplication before the Lord. Hear, O Lord, my prayer: and let my cry come to thee.
2 Verbirg Dein Antlitz nicht vor mir! Neig her zu mir Dein Ohr an meinem Trübsalstage! Erhöre schnell mich, wenn ich rufe!
Turn not away thy face from me: in the day when I am in trouble, incline thy ear to me. In what day soever I shall call upon thee, hear me speedily.
3 Denn meine Tage schwinden hin wie Rauch; dem Feuer gleich ist mein Gebein verbrannt.
For my days are vanished like smoke: and my bones are grown dry like fuel for the fire.
4 Mein Herz ist dürr, versengt wie Gras; mein täglich Brot vergesse ich zu essen.
I am smitten as grass, and my heart is withered: because I forgot to eat my bread.
5 Vor meinem lauten Seufzen klebt mein Gebein im Leib zusammen.
Through the voice of my groaning, my bone hath cleaved to my flesh.
6 Dem Pelikan der Wüste gleiche ich, und Eulen in Ruinen bin ich gleich geworden.
I am become like to a pelican of the wilderness: I am like a night raven in the house.
7 Beim Wachen bin ich wie ein Vöglein, das einsam auf dem Dache weilt.
I have watched, and am become as a sparrow all alone on the housetop.
8 Mich höhnen täglich meine Feinde, und die mich reizen, nehmen mich zum Fluchen.
All the day long my enemies reproached me: and they that praised me did swear against me.
9 Denn Asche esse ich wie Brot und mische meinen Trank mit Tränen
For I did eat ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping.
10 vor Deinem Zorne, Deinem Grimm, wenn Du mich aufhebst und zu Boden wirfst.
Because of thy anger and indignation: for having lifted me up thou hast thrown me down.
11 Dem langen Schatten gleichen meine Tage; wie Gras verdorre ich.
My days have declined like a shadow, and I am withered like grass.
12 Doch Du, Herr, thronest ewiglich; Dein Name dauert für und für.
But thou, O Lord, endurest for ever: and thy memorial to all generations.
13 Du solltest Dich erheben, Dich Sions wieder zu erbarmen. Ihm Gnade zu erweisen, ist es Zeit; denn die bestimmte Frist ist da.
Thou shalt arise and have mercy on Sion: for it is time to have mercy on it, for the time is come.
14 So gerne haben Deine Knechte seine Steine und hängen selbst an seinem Schutt in Liebe.
For the stones thereof have pleased thy servants: and they shall have pity on the earth thereof.
15 Die Heiden fürchten dann des Herrn Namen und alle Könige der Erde Deine Herrlichkeit. -
And the Gentiles shall fear thy name, O Lord, and all the kings of the earth thy glory.
16 Erbaut dem Herrn von neuem Sion und zeigt er sich in seinem Herrschertum,
For the Lord hath built up Sion: and he shall be seen in his glory.
17 und achtet auf der Nackten Flehen, verschmäht er nimmer ihr Gebet,
He hath had regard to the prayer of the humble: and he hath not despised their petition.
18 dann schreibe man dies für die Nachwelt auf, damit ein neugeschaffen Volk den Herrn lobpreise!
Let these things be written unto another generation: and the people that shall be created shall praise the Lord:
19 Von seiner heiligen Höhe schaue er herab; der Herr vom Himmel auf die Erde blicke,
Because he hath looked forth from his high sanctuary: from heaven the Lord hath looked upon the earth.
20 um der Gefangenen Gestöhn zu hören, des Todes Kinder zu befreien!
That he might hear the groans of them that are in fetters: that he might release the children of the slain:
21 Dann künden sie des Herren Ruhm in Sion und zu Jerusalem sein Lob,
That they may declare the name of the Lord in Sion: and his praise in Jerusalem;
22 wenn sich die Völker allzumal versammeln und Königreiche, um dem Herrn zu dienen. -
When the people assemble together, and kings, to serve the Lord.
23 Ermattet bin ich auf dem Weg; verkürzt sind meine Tage.
He answered him in the way of his strength: Declare unto me the fewness of my days.
24 Drum flehe ich: "Mein Gott! Nimm mich nicht weg in meiner Tage Hälfte! Du, dessen Jahre Ewigkeiten währen."
Call me not away in the midst of my days: thy years are unto generation and generation.
25 Die Erde, die Du einst gegründet, der Himmel, Deiner Hände Werk,
In the beginning, O Lord, thou foundedst the earth: and the heavens are the works of thy hands.
26 sie schwinden hin, Du aber bleibst. Sie all veralten wie ein Kleid; Du wechselst sie wie ein Gewand. Und wechseln sie,
They shall perish but thou remainest: and all of them shall grow old like a garment: And as a vesture thou shalt change them, and they shall be changed.
27 so bleibst Du doch derselbe, und Deine Jahre enden nicht.
But thou art always the selfsame, and thy years shall not fail.
28 So mögen auch die Kinder Deiner Knechte bleiben, ihr Stamm, solang Du selber bist!
The children of thy servants shall continue: and their seed shall be directed for ever.
