Nehemia 3

1 Da standen der Hohepriester Eljasib und die Priester, seine Brüder, auf und bauten das Schaftor, zugleich hatten sie es befestigt; dann setzten sie seine Tore ein, ebenso den Turm Hammea; auch ihn hatten sie umwallt, ebenso den Turm Chananels.

Then arose Eliashib the high priest and his brethren the priests, and built the sheep-gate, they, hallowed it, and set up the doors thereof, —even unto the tower of Hammeah, hallowed they it, unto the tower of Hananel;

2 Daneben hatten die von Jericho gebaut und neben ihnen Zakkur, Imris Sohn.

and, at his hand, built, the men of Jericho, —and at his [other] hand built Zaccur, son of Imri.

3 Das Fischtor bauten Senaas Söhne, zugleich hatten sie es mit Gebälk überdacht; dann setzten sie seine Tore ein und seine Klammern mit den Querriegeln.

And, the fish-gate, did the sons of Hassenaah build, —they, laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof;

4 Daneben besserte Urias Sohn Meremot aus, der Enkel des Hakkos, daneben Mesullam, Berekjas Sohn und Enkel Mesezabels, daneben Sadok, Baanas Sohn.

and, at their hand, repaired, Meremoth son of Uriah son of Hakkoz, and, at their hand, repaired, Meshullum son of Berechiah son of Meshezabel, —and, at their hand, repaired, Zadok son of Baana;

5 Daneben besserten die Tekoiter aus; ihre Vornehmen aber trugen nichts zu ihrer Herren Leistung bei.

and, at their hand, repaired, the Tekoites, —but, their chiefs, put not their neck into the service of their lords.

6 Am Altstadttor besserten Paseachs Sohn Jojada aus und Mesullam, Besodjas Sohn. Zugleich hatten sie es mit Gebälk überdacht; dann setzten sie seine Tore ein und seine Klammern mit den Querriegeln.

And, the old gate, did Joiada son of Paseah, and Meshullam, son of Besodeiah, repair, —they, laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, and the locks thereof, and the bars thereof;

7 Daneben besserten der Gibeoniter Melatja aus und Jadon, der Meronititer, und die von Gibeon und von der Mispa am Stuhle des Statthalters von Syrien.

and, at their hand, repaired, Melatiah the Gibeonite and Jadon the Meronothite, men of Gibeon and of Mizpah, —who pertained to the throne of the pasha Beyond the River;

8 Daneben besserte Uzziel, ein Glied der Goldschmiedezunft, aus, daneben Chananja von den Salbenmischern. Sie befestigten Jerusalem bis an die breite Mauer.

at his hand, repaired, Uzziel son of Harhaiah, goldsmiths, and, at his hand, repaired Hananiah son of the perfumers, —and they fortified Jerusalem, as far as the broad wall;

9 Daneben besserte des Chur Sohn Rephaja aus, der Oberste der einen Hälfte des Bezirks Jerusalem.

and, at their hand, repaired, Rephaiah son of Hur, ruler of a half-circuit of Jerusalem;

10 Daneben besserte Charunaphs Sohn Jedaja aus, und zwar vor seinem eigenen Hause, daneben Chattus, Chasabnejas Sohn.

and, at their hand, repaired, Jedaiah son of Harumaph, even over against his own house, —and, at his hand, repaired, Hattush, son of Hashabneiah;

11 Und eine zweite Strecke besserte Malkia, Charims Sohn, aus, und Chasub, Pachatmoabs Sohn, beim Ofenturm.

a second length, did Malchijah son of Harim and Hasshub son of Pahath-moab, repair, —also the tower of the ovens;

12 Daneben besserte des Loches Sohn Sallum aus, der Oberste der anderen Hälfte des Bezirks Jerusalem, er und die Töchter.

and, at his hand, repaired, Shallum son of Hallohesh, ruler of a half-circuit of Jerusalem, —he and his daughters.

13 Das Taltor besserte Chanun mit den Leuten von Zanoach aus, Sie bauten es auf, dann setzten sie seine Tore ein und seine Klammern mit den Querriegeln und weitere tausend Ellen an der Mauer bis zum Misttor.

The valley-gate, did Hanun and the inhabitants of Zanoah, repair, —they, built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, —also a thousand cubits in the wall, as far as the dung-gate.

14 Das Misttor besserte der Rebakssohn Malkia aus, der Oberste im Bezirk von Beth Hakkerem. Er baute es auf und setzte seine Tore ein und seine Klammern mit den Querriegeln.

And, the dung-gate, did Malchijah son of Rechab, ruler of the circuit of Beth-haccherem, repair, —he, built it, and set up the doors thereof, he locks thereof, and the bars thereof.

15 Das Quelltor besserte des Kol Choze Sohn Sallum aus, der Oberste im Bezirk der Mispa. Er baute es auf, überdachte es und setzte seine Tore ein und seine Klammern und Querriegel, sowie die Mauer an dem Teich für die Schaffelle beim Königsgarten bis zu den Stufen, die von der Davidsstadt herabführen.

And, the fountain-gate, did Shallun son of Col-hozeh ruler of the circuit of Mizpah, repair, he, built it, and covered it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, —also the wall of the pool of Shelah, by the garden of the king, even as far as the stairs that go down from the city of David;

16 Danach besserte aus des Azbuk Sohn Nechemja, der Oberste der Hälfte des Bezirkes von Beth Sur, bis gegenüber von den Davidsgräbern und bis zu dem künstlichen Teich und dann bis zur Kaserne.

after him, repaired, Nehemiah son of Azbuk, ruler of the half-circuit of Beth-zur, —as far as over against the sepulchres of David, even unto the pool which had been made, and unto the house of heroes;

17 Danach besserten auch die Leviten aus: Rechum, des Bani Sohn. Daneben besserte Chasabja aus, der Oberste des halben Amts von Keïla, für dieses sein Amt.

after him, repaired, the Levites, Rehum son of Bani, —at his hand, repaired, Hashabiah, ruler of the half-circuit of Keilah, for his circuit;

18 Daneben besserten ihre Brüder aus, Bawwai, der Sohn des Chenadad, der Oberste des anderen Amts von Keïla.

after him, repaired, their brethren, Bavvai son of Henadad, —ruler of the [other] half-circuit of Keilah;

19 Daneben besserte Ezer, der Sohn Jesaes, der Oberste der Mispa, eine zweite Strecke aus, dem Aufstieg des Zeughauses am Winkel gegenüber.

and there repaired at his hand, Ezer son of Jeshua, ruler of Mizpah, a second length, —over against the ascent of the armoury, at the corner;

20 Danach besserte des Zabbai Sohn Baruk eine zweite Strecke aus, vom Winkel bis zum Tor des Hauses Eljasibs, des Hohenpriesters.

after him, zealously repaired Baruch son of Zabbai, a second length, —from the corner, unto the opening of the house of Eliashib, the high priest;

21 Danach besserte des Uria Sohn Meremot, der Enkel des Hakkos, eine zweite Strecke aus, vom Tor des Hauses Eljasibs bis ans Ende des Hauses Eljasibs.

after him, repaired, Meremoth son of Uriah son of Hakkoz, a second length, —from the opening of the house of Eliashib, even unto the end of the house of Eliashib;

22 Danach besserten die Priester, die Männer aus dem Gau, aus.

and, after him, repaired, the priests, the men of the Circuit;

23 Danach besserte des Maaseja Sohn Azarja aus, der Enkel des Ananja, neben seinem Hause.

after him, repaired, Benjamin and Hasshub, over against their own house, —after him, repaired, Azariah son of Maaseiah son of Ananiah, beside his own house;

24 Danach besserte Binnui, Chenadads Sohn, eine zweite Strecke aus, von des Azarjas Haus bis zum Winkel und bis zur Ecke.

after him, repaired, Binnui son of Henadad, a second length, —from the house of Azariah, unto the corner, even unto the pinnacle:

25 Palel, des Uzai Sohn, gegenüber dem Winkel sowie dem Turm, der vom oberen Königshaus, am Gefängnishof hervorspringt, danach des Paros Sohn Pedaja

Palal, son of Uzai, from over against the corner, and the tower that projecteth from the upper house of the king, which belongeth to the court of custody, —after him, Pedaiah son of Parosh.

26 und die Tempelsklaven, die im Ophel wohnten, bis vor dem Wassertor im Osten und vor dem vorspringenden Turm.

Now, the Nethinim, were dwelling in Ophel, —as far as over against the water-gate, on the east, and the tower that projecteth;

27 Danach besserten die Tekoiter eine zweite Strecke aus, dem großen vorspringenden Turm gegenüber bis an die Ophelmauer.

after him, repaired, the Tekoites, a second length, —from over against the great tower that projecteth, even unto the wall of Ophel:

28 Oberhalb des Roßtores besserten die Priester aus, jeder vor seinem Hause.

from beside the horse-gate, repaired the priests, every one over against his own house;

29 Danach besserte vor seinem Hause Immers Sohn Sadok aus, danach Sekanjas Sohn Semaja, des Osttores Hüter.

after him, repaired, Zadok son of Immer, over against his own house, —and, after him, repaired, Shemaiah son of Shecaniah, keeper of the east-gate;

30 Danach besserten Selemjas Sohn Chananja und Salaphs des Sechsten Sohn Chanun eine zweite Strecke aus. Danach besserte Berekjas Sohn Mesullam vor seiner eigenen Zelle aus.

after him, repaired, Hananiah son of Shelemiah, and Hanun sixth son of Zalaph, a second length, —after him, repaired, Meshullam son of Berechiah, over against his chamber;

31 Danach besserte Malkia von den Goldschmieden bis zum Hause der Tempelsklaven und der Krämer aus, dem Wachttor gegenüber und bis zur oberen Zelle der Ecke.

after him, repaired, Malchijah son of Zorphi, as far as the house of the Nethinim, and the traders, —over against the muster-gate, even unto the ascent of the pinnacle;

32 Und zwischen dieser oberen Zelle an der Ecke und dem Schaftor besserten die Goldschmiede und die Krämer aus.

and, between the ascent of the pinnacle and the sheep-gate, repaired, the goldsmiths, and the traders.
