Matthaeus 9
1 Dann stieg er in ein Boot, fuhr über den See und kam in seine Stadt.
And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city.
2 Und siehe, da brachte man ihm einen Gelähmten, der auf seinem Bette lag. Als Jesus ihren Glauben sah, sprach er zu dem Gelähmten: "Mut, mein Sohn! Deine Sünden sind dir vergeben."
And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.
3 Und siehe, einige der Schriftgelehrten dachten: "Der lästert."
And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This [man] blasphemeth.
4 Doch Jesus, der ihre Gedanken durchschaute, sprach: "Warum denkt ihr Arges in euren Herzen?
And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?
5 Was ist leichter, zu sagen: Deine Sünden sind dir vergeben, oder zu sagen: Steh auf und geh umher?
For whether is easier, to say, [Thy] sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?
6 Ihr sollet aber sehen, daß der Menschensohn Vollmacht hat, auf Erden Sünden zu vergeben." Dann sprach er zum Gelähmten: "Steh auf, nimm dein Bett und geh nach Hause."
But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy, ) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.
7 Da stand er auf und ging nach Hause.
And he arose, and departed to his house.
8 Als die Scharen dies sahen, wurden sie von Furcht ergriffen; sie lobten Gott, der solche Macht den Menschen gegeben hatte.
But when the multitudes saw [it], they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.
9 Von dort ging Jesus weiter. Da sah er einen Mann, der an der Zollstätte saß; er hieß Matthäus. Er sprach zu ihm: "Folge mir!" Und er stand auf und folgte ihm.
And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.
10 Als er dann im Hause zu Tische saß, waren auch viele Zöllner und Sünder zu Tische mit Jesus und seinen Jüngern
And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.
11 Die Pharisäer sahen dies und fragten seine Jünger: "Warum speist euer Meister mit Zöllnern und mit Sündern?"
And when the Pharisees saw [it], they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
12 Jesus hörte es und sprach: "Nicht die Gesunden brauchen einen Arzt, wohl aber die Kranken.
But when Jesus heard [that], he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.
13 Lernet doch, was es bedeutet 'Erbarmen will ich, keine Opfer'. Nicht dazu bin ich da, Gerechte zu berufen, sondern Sünder."
But go ye and learn what [that] meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
14 Da kamen die Jünger des Johannes zu ihm her und fragten: "Warum fasten wir und die Pharisäer so streng, und deine Jünger fasten gar nicht?"
Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not?
15 Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Können die Hochzeitsgäste etwa trauern, solange der Bräutigam bei ihnen weilt? Es werden aber Tage kommen, da ihnen der Bräutigam entrissen ist; dann werden sie fasten.
And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.
16 Niemand näht einen Fleck aus ungewalktem Zeug auf einen alten Mantel; sonst reißt der Fleck auch noch vom Mantel etwas ab, und der Riß wird nur noch größer.
No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.
17 Auch füllt man neuen Wein nicht in alte Schläuche; sonst platzen die Schläuche, der Wein läuft aus, und die Schläuche sind verdorben. Nein, neuen Wein füllt man in neue Schläuche, dann halten beide miteinander."
Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.
18 Noch sprach er so zu ihnen, siehe, da trat vor ihn ein Vorsteher und warf sich vor ihm nieder mit den Worten: "Meine Tochter ist soeben gestorben; komm, lege ihr deine Hand auf, dann wird sie leben."
While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.
19 Jesus stand auf und folgte ihm mit seinen Jüngern.
And Jesus arose, and followed him, and [so did] his disciples.
20 Und siehe, da trat ein Weib, das schon zwölf Jahre am Blufluß litt, von hinten her und rührte den Saum seines Kleides an,
And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind [him], and touched the hem of his garment:
21 denn sie sagte sich: "Wenn ich auch nur sein Kleid berühre, so wird mir geholfen."
For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.
22 Doch Jesus wandte sich um, sah sie an und sprach: "Mut, meine Tochter! Dein Glaube hat dir geholfen." Und von jener Stunde an war dem Weib geholfen.
But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.
23 Als Jesus in das Haus des Vorstehers gekommen war und die Flötenbläser und die aufgeregte Menge sah, sagte er:
And when Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,
24 "Gehet hinaus; das Mädchen ist nicht tot, es schläft." Doch sie verlachten ihn.
He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.
25 Als die Menge hinausgetrieben war, ging er hinein, faßte das Mädchen bei der Hand, und dieses richtete sich auf.
But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.
26 Die Kunde hiervon verbreitete sich in jener ganzen Gegend.
And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land.
27 Von dort ging Jesus weiter; da folgten ihm zwei Blinde. Sie riefen laut: "Erbarme dich unser, du Sohn Davids!"
And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, [Thou] Son of David, have mercy on us.
28 Kaum war er in das Haus getreten, da kamen auch die Blinden gleich zu ihm. Und Jesus fragte sie: "Glaubt ihr, daß ich das tun kann?" "Ja, Herr", erwiderten sie ihm.
And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.
29 Und er berührte ihre Augen, wobei er sprach: "Wie ihr geglaubt habt, soll euch geschehen."
Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
30 Da öffneten sich ihre Augen. Doch Jesus sprach zu ihnen voll Ernst: "Sorgt dafür, daß niemand es erfährt."
And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See [that] no man know [it].
31 Sie aber gingen weg und breiteten die Kunde über ihn in jener ganzen Gegend aus.
But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.
32 Diese waren eben weggegangen, da brachte man ihm einen Stummen, der besessen war.
As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.
33 Sobald der Dämon ausgetrieben war, konnte der Stumme wieder reden. Die Scharen riefen ganz verwundert: "Noch nie ist so etwas in Israel geschehen."
And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.
34 Allein die Pharisäer sagten: "Durch den Obersten der Dämonen treibt er die Dämonen aus."
But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils.
35 Und Jesus zog umher in allen Städten und in den Dörfern; er lehrte in ihren Synagogen, verkündete die frohe Botschaft des Reiches und heilte jede Krankheit und jegliches Gebrechen.
And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
36 Als er die Scharen sah, empfand er mit ihnen ein herzliches Erbarmen; sie waren ja so elend und verwahrlost wie Schafe, die keinen Hirten haben.
But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
37 Damals sagte er zu seinen Jüngern: "Die Ernte ist groß, doch der Arbeiter sind wenige;
Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly [is] plenteous, but the labourers [are] few;
38 bittet den Herrn der Ernte, daß er Arbeiter für seine Ernte sende."
Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
