Markus 6
1 Er ging von dort hinweg und kam in seine Vaterstadt, und seine Jünger begleiteten ihn.
And departing from there, he went away to his own country; and his disciples followed him.
2 Als es wieder Sabbat war, lehrte er in der Synagoge, und viele, die ihn hörten, fragten voll Erstaunen: "Woher mag er all dies haben? Welche Weisheit ward ihm verliehen! Welch große Wunder geschehen durch seine Hände!
And when the Sabbath arrived, he began to teach in the synagogue. And many, upon hearing him, were amazed at his doctrine, saying: “Where did this one get all these things?” and, “What is this wisdom, which has been given to him?” and, “Such powerful deeds, which are wrought by his hands!”
3 Ist das nicht der Zimmermann, der Sohn der Maria und der Bruder des Jakobus, Joses, Judas und des Simon? Und wohnen denn nicht seine Schwestern hier bei uns?" So nahm man an ihm Anstoß.
“Is this not the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joseph, and Jude, and Simon? Are not his sisters also here with us?” And they took great offense at him.
4 Doch Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Ein Prophet gilt nirgends weniger als in seiner Vaterstadt, bei seinen eigenen Verwandten und in seinem Vaterhause."
And Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country, and in his own house, and among his own kindred.”
5 Er konnte dort kein einziges Wunder wirken; nur daß er einigen Kranken die Hand auflegte und sie heilte.
And he was not able to perform any miracles there, except that he cured a few of the infirm by laying his hands on them.
6 Und er wunderte sich wegen ihres Unglaubens. Und lehrend zog er durch die Dörfer ringsumher.
And he wondered, because of their unbelief, and he traveled around in the villages, teaching.
7 Alsdann rief er die Zwölf zu sich und begann, sie auszusenden, zu je zweien; auch gab er ihnen Macht über unreine Geister.
And he called the twelve. And he began to send them out in twos, and he gave them authority over unclean spirits.
8 Weiter gebot er ihnen, nichts mitzunehmen auf den Weg als einen Stab, kein Brot und keinen Bettelsack und keine Münze im Gürtel.
And he instructed them not to take anything for the journey, except a staff: no traveling bag, no bread, and no money belt,
9 Doch dürften sie Sandalen tragen, aber nicht zwei Röcke.
but to wear sandals, and not to wear two tunics.
10 Ferner sprach er zu ihnen: "Betretet ihr irgendwo ein Haus, dann bleibt dort, bis ihr weiterzieht.
And he said to them: “Whenever you have entered into a house, stay there until you depart from that place.
11 Doch wo man euch nicht aufnimmt und auf euch nicht hört, da geht weg von dort und schüttelt den Staub von euren Füßen ihnen zum Zeugnis."
And whoever will neither receive you, nor listen to you, as you go away from there, shake off the dust from your feet as a testimony against them.”
12 So zogen sie nun hin und predigten, man solle Buße tun.
And going out, they were preaching, so that people would repent.
13 Sie trieben viele Geister aus, salbten viele Kranke mit Öl und heilten sie.
And they cast out many demons, and they anointed many of the sick with oil and healed them.
14 Die Kunde drang auch zum König Herodes; war doch sein Name in aller Mund. Er sprach: "Johannes der Täufer ist von den Toten auferstanden. Darum wirken in ihm Gottes Kräfte."
And king Herod heard of it, (for his name had become well-known) and he said: “John the Baptist has risen again from the dead, and because of this, miracles are at work in him.”
15 Doch andere behaupteten, er sei Elias; und wieder andere, er sei ein Prophet, wie einer aus den früheren Propheten.
But others were saying, “Because it is Elijah.” Still others were saying, “Because he is a prophet, like one of the prophets.”
16 Herodes aber meinte, als er davon hörte: "Johannes, den ich habe enthaupten lassen, ist wieder von den Toten auferstanden."
When Herod had heard it, he said, “John whom I beheaded, the same has risen again from the dead.”
17 Eben der Herodes hatte nämlich den Johannes gefangennehmen lassen und im Gefängnis ihn verwahrt wegen der Herodias, dem Weibe des Philippus, seines Bruders, die er geheiratet hatte.
For Herod himself had sent to capture John, and had chained him in prison, because of Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip; for he had married her.
18 Denn Johannes hatte dem Herodes vorgehalten: "Es ist dir nicht erlaubt, das Weib deines Bruders zu haben."
For John was saying to Herod, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.”
19 Darum war die Herodias auf ihn erbost und hätte ihn gern töten lassen; sie brachte es aber nicht zuwege.
Now Herodias was devising treachery against him; and she wanted to kill him, but she was unable.
20 Herodes hatte nämlich vor Johannes Ehrfurcht; er wußte, daß er ein gerechter und heiliger Mann war. So nahm er ihn in Schutz. Wenn er ihn anhörte, geriet er oft in Zwiespalt mit sich selbst, und trotzdem hörte er ihn gern.
For Herod was apprehensive of John, knowing him to be a just and holy man, and so he guarded him. And he heard that he was accomplishing many things, and so he listened to him willingly.
21 Da kam ein sehr gelegener Tag. An seinem Geburtsfest gab Herodes seinen Würdenträgern, den Obersten und Vornehmsten in Galiläa ein Mahl.
And when an opportune time had arrived, Herod held a feast on his birthday, with the leaders, and the tribunes, and the first rulers of Galilee.
22 Da trat die Tochter eben der Herodias herein und tanzte. Und dies gefiel Herodes und den Gästen so, daß der König zu dem Mädchen sprach: "Erbitte von mir, was du willst; ich werde es dir geben."
And when the daughter of the same Herodias had entered, and danced, and pleased Herod, along with those who were at table with him, the king said to the girl, “Request from me whatever you want, and I will give it to you.”
23 Ja, er schwur ihr: "Was du von mir verlangst, will ich dir geben, und sollte es auch die Hälfte meines Reiches sein."
And he swore to her, “Anything that you request, I will give to you, even up to half my kingdom.”
24 Sie ging hinaus und fragte ihre Mutter: "Was soll ich verlangen?" Und diese sagte: "Den Kopf Johannes des Täufers."
And when she had gone out, she said to her mother, “What shall I request?” But her mother said, “The head of John the Baptist.”
25 Alsdann trat sie voll Eifer vor den König hin und bat: "Ich will, laß mir sogleich auf einer Schüssel den Kopf Johannes des Täufers geben.
And immediately, when she had entered with haste to the king, she petitioned him, saying: “I want you to give me at once the head of John the Baptist on a platter.”
26 Da ward der König tief bestürzt; jedoch seiner Schwüre und der Gäste wegen wollte er sie nicht abweisen.
And the king was greatly saddened. But because of his oath, and because of those who were sitting with him at table, he was not willing to disappoint her.
27 Der König schickte sogleich einen Henker weg mit dem Befehl, seinen Kopf zu bringen. Der ging hinweg und enthauptete ihn im Gefängnis
So, having sent an executioner, he instructed that his head be brought on a platter.
28 und brachte seinen Kopf auf einer Schüssel, gab ihn dem Mädchen, und das Mädchen gab ihn seiner Mutter.
And he beheaded him in prison, and he brought his head on a platter. And he gave it to the girl, and the girl gave it her mother.
29 Als seine Jünger davon hörten, kamen sie und holten seinen Leichnam und bargen ihn in einem Grabe.
When his disciples heard about it, they came and took his body, and they placed it in a tomb.
30 Nun kehrten die Apostel wiederum zu Jesus zurück und erzählten ihm alles, was sie gewirkt und gepredigt hatten.
And the Apostles, returning to Jesus, reported to him everything that they had done and taught.
31 Er sprach zu ihnen: "Kommt mit, ihr ganz allein, an einen abgelegenen Ort und ruht euch ein wenig aus." Denn viele gingen ab und zu, so daß sie nicht einmal Zeit zum Essen hatten.
And he said to them, “Go out alone, into a deserted place, and rest for a little while.” For there were so many who were coming and going, that they did not even have time to eat.
32 Sie fuhren also für sich allein in einem Boot an einen abgelegenen Ort.
And climbing into a boat, they went away to a deserted place alone.
33 Doch viele sahen, wie sie von dannen gingen, und erkannten ihre Absicht. Aus allen Städten strömten sie dorthin zu Fuß zusammen und kamen noch vor ihnen an.
And they saw them going away, and many knew about it. And together they ran by foot from all the cities, and they arrived before them.
34 Er stieg aus und sah die große Menge, und er empfand ein herzliches Erbarmen über sie; sie waren wie Schafe ohne Hirten. Und er begann, sie mancherlei zu lehren.
And Jesus, going out, saw a great multitude. And he took pity on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd, and he began to teach them many things.
35 Als es schon spät geworden war, traten seine Jünger zu ihm hin und sprachen: "Einsam ist der Ort und auch die Zeit schon vorgerückt.
And when many hours had now passed, his disciples drew near to him, saying: “This is a deserted place, and the hour is now late.
36 Entlaß sie! Sie mögen in die Dörfer und die Flecken hier im Umkreis gehen und Nahrung für sich kaufen."
Send them away, so that by going out to nearby villages and towns, they might buy provisions for themselves to eat.”
37 Er aber sprach zu ihnen: "Gebt ihr ihnen zu essen!" Da sagten sie zu ihm: "Sollen wir denn gehen und Brot für zweihundert Zehner kaufen und ihnen dann zu essen geben?"
And responding, he said to them, “Give them something to eat yourselves.” And they said to him, “Let us go out and buy bread for two hundred denarii, and then we will give them something to eat.”
38 Er fragte sie: "Wieviel Brote habt ihr? Geht und seht nach!" Sie sahen nach und sagten: "Fünf, und zwei Fische."
And he said to them: “How many loaves do you have? Go and see.” And when they had found out, they said, “Five, and two fish.”
39 Dann ließ er alle in Gruppen auf dem grünen Rasen sich lagern.
And he instructed them to make them all sit down in groups on the green grass.
40 Sie ließen sich nun Reih' an Reihe nieder, zu je hundert und je fünfzig.
And they sat down in divisions by hundreds and by fifties.
41 Dann nahm er die fünf Brote und die zwei Fische; er sah zum Himmel auf, segnete und brach die Brote und gab sie den Jüngern, um sie ihnen vorzulegen. Auch die zwei Fische ließ er unter alle verteilen.
And having received the five loaves and the two fish, gazing up to heaven, he blessed and broke the bread, and he gave it to his disciples to set before them. And the two fish he divided among them all.
42 Und alle aßen und wurden satt;
And they all ate and were satisfied.
43 ja, noch zwölf Körbe trugen sie hinweg, voll mit Stücken, auch von den Fischen.
And they brought together the remainder: twelve baskets full of fragments and of fish.
44 Derer, die gegessen hatten, waren es fünftausend Männer.
Now those who ate were five thousand men.
45 Sogleich drängte er die Jünger, in das Boot zu steigen und an das andere Ufer nach Bethsaida weiterzufahren, ihm voraus, während er selbst die Scharen entlassen wollte.
And without delay he urged his disciples to climb into the boat, so that they might precede him across the sea to Bethsaida, while he dismissed the people.
46 Und er entließ sie und stieg auf einen Berg, um zu beten.
And when he had dismissed them, he went to the mountain to pray.
47 Es war schon spät; das Boot war mitten auf dem Meer und er allein noch an Land.
And when it was late, the boat was in the midst of the sea, and he was alone on the land.
48 Er sah, wie sie im Dahinfahren hart bedrängt waren; sie hatten nämlich Gegenwind. Da, um die vierte Nachtwache, kam er zu ihnen auf dem Meer daher. Er wollte an ihnen vorübergehen.
And seeing them struggling to row, (for the wind was against them, ) and about the fourth watch of the night, he came to them, walking upon the sea. And he intended to pass by them.
49 Sie sahen ihn, wie er auf dem Meer wandelte, und meinten, es sei ein Gespenst, und schrien laut auf.
But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they thought it was an apparition, and they cried out.
50 Denn alle sahen ihn und erschraken. Doch alsbald redete er sie an und sprach zu ihnen: "Nur Mut! Ich bin es. Habt keine Angst!"
For they all saw him, and they were very disturbed. And immediately he spoke with them, and he said to them: “Be strengthened in faith. It is I. Do not be afraid.”
51 Dann stieg er zu ihnen ins Boot, und sogleich legte sich der Wind. Jetzt gerieten sie erst recht ganz außer sich;
And he climbed into the boat with them, and the wind ceased. And they became even more astonished within themselves.
52 das mit den Broten nämlich hatten sie noch nicht verstanden; ihr Sinn war immer noch verschlossen.
For they did not understand about the bread. For their heart had been blinded.
53 Sie fuhren vollends hinüber und kamen bei Genesareth ans Land.
And when they had crossed over, they arrived in the land of Genesaret, and they reached the shore.
54 Und wie sie aus dem Boote stiegen, ward er sofort erkannt.
And when they had disembarked from the boat, the people immediately recognized him.
55 Man lief die ganze Gegend aus und trug voll Eifer Kranke auf Betten dahin, wo sie hörten, daß er sei.
And running throughout that entire region, they began to carry on beds those who had maladies, to where they heard that he would be.
56 Wo immer er Dörfer, Städte oder Gehöfte betrat, da legte man die Kranken auf die Plätze und bat ihn, sie möchten nur den Saum seines Kleides berühren dürfen. Und alle, die ihn berührten, wurden gesund.
And in whichever place he entered, in towns or villages or cities, they placed the infirm in the main streets, and they pleaded with him that they might touch even the hem of his garment. And as many as touched him were made healthy.
