Maleachi 4
1 "Der Tag wird kommen, gleich einem Ofen flammt er auf. Die Frevler und die Missetäter all sind Stoppeln, und sie verzehrt der Tag, der kommt", so spricht der Herr der Heerscharen. "Von ihnen bleibt nicht Zweig noch Wurzel übrig.
For, behold, a day comes burning as an oven, and it shall consume them; and all the aliens, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that is coming shall set them on fire, says the Lord Almighty, and there shall not be left of them root or branch.
2 Euch aber, die ihr meinen Namen fürchtet, strahlt die Sonne der Gerechtigkeit, und Heilung liegt in ihren Strahlen. Ihr kommt hervor und hüpft wie Kälber aus dem Stalle,
But to you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise, and healing [shall be] in his wings: and you shall go forth, and bound as young calves let loose from bonds.
3 die Frevler zu zertreten. Sie werden unter euren Füßen Staub an jenem Tag, da ich erscheine." So spricht der Herr der Heerscharen.
And you shall trample the wicked; for they shall be ashes underneath your feet in the day which I appoint, says the Lord Almighty.
4 "Gedenket also des Gesetzes Mosis, meines Dieners! Am Horeb gab ich für ganz Israel Gebote ihm und Satzungen.
And, behold, I will send to you Elias the Thesbite, before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes;
5 Ich sende euch Elias, den Propheten, zu. Bevor der Tag des Herrn erscheint, der große, schreckliche,
who shall turn again the heart of the father to the son, and the heart of a man to his neighbour, lest I come and strike the earth grievously.
6 bemüht er sich, das Herz der Väter für die Kinder, das Herz der Kinder für die Väter wiederzugewinnen. Sonst muß ich, wenn ich komme, das Land zum Untergang verdammen."
Remember the law of my servant Moses, accordingly as I charged him [with it] in Choreb for all Israel, [even] the commandments and ordinances.
