Hosea 5
1 "Hört dies, ihr Priester! Achte drauf, Haus Israel! Horch auf, du Königshaus! Denn euch obliegt das Recht. Ihr gleicht auf Mispa einer Schlinge und einem ausgespannten Netz auf Tabor.
Hear ye this—O priests, and attend, O house of Israel, and ye, House of the King, give ear, for, to you, pertaineth the sentence, —for, a snare, have ye been to Mizpah, and a net spread on Tabor.
2 In Grüften haben sie Unschuldige geschlachtet; ich aber ward von ihnen allen abgetan.
And, a slaughter, have apostates deeply designed, —though, I, was a rebuker to them all.
3 O Ephraim, ich weiß es gut; o Israel, mir ist es nicht verborgen, daß du noch immer buhlst, daß Ephraim und Israel sich unrein machen."
I, have known Ephraim, and, Israel, hath not been hidden from me, —for, now, hast thou committed unchastity, O Ephraim, Israel, hath made himself impure.
4 Nicht lassen ihre Werke zu, daß sie zu ihrem Gott sich kehren, ist doch der Buhlergeist in ihrer Mitte. Sie wollen von dem Herrn nichts wissen.
Their doings, will not suffer, them to return unto their God, —for, the spirit of unchastity, is within them, and, Yahweh, have they not known.
5 Sein Prunk jedoch zeugt wider Israel, und Israel und Ephraim, sie beide stürzen hin durch ihre Schuld. Auch Juda stürzt mit ihnen.
Therefore will the Excellency of Israel, answer, to his face, —and, Israel and Ephraim, shall stumble in their iniquity, even Judah with them, hath stumbled.
6 Dann ziehen sie mit ihren Schafen und den Rindern aus, den Herrn zu suchen. Sie aber finden ihn nicht mehr; denn er entzieht sich ihnen.
With their flocks and with their herds, will they go to seek Yahweh, but shall not find him; he hath withdrawn himself from them.
7 Die Treue brachen sie dem Herrn; unechte Söhne zeugten sie. Ein Zorn verzehrt sie jetzt samt ihren Ländereien.
With Yahweh, have they dealt treacherously, for, to alien children, have they given birth, —now, a new moon, shall devour them, with their portions.
8 "Auf! Stoßt zu Gibea in die Posaune, zu Rama in Trompeten und schreit beim Götzenhaus: 'Nimm dich in acht, du Benjamin!'
Blow ye a horn in Gibeah, a trumpet in Ramah, —sound an alarm at Beth-aven, behind thee, O Benjamin!
9 Zum Schreckensbild wird Ephraim am Tag der Züchtigung. Den Stämmen Israels verkünd ich ganz Gewisses.
Ephraim, shall become, a desolation, in the day of rebuke: Throughout the tribes of Israel, have I hide known what is sure.
10 Die Fürsten Judas gleichen Grenzverrückern; drum gieße ich auch über sie wie Wasser meinen Grimm."
The rulers of Judah have become as they who remove a land-mark. Upon them, will I pour out, like water, my wrath.
11 Bedrückt, geknickt wird Ephraim mit Recht, weil es mit Willen Ekelhaftem folgt.
Oppressed, is Ephraim, crushed in judgment, —because he hath, wilfully, walked after falsehood.
12 "Wie Fieber werde ich für Ephraim, für Judas Haus wie Wurmfraß.
But, I, was like a moth, to Ephraim, —and like rotten wood to the house of Judah.
13 Wenn Ephraim dann seine Krankheit merkt und Juda seinen Eiter, dann wendet Ephraim sich an Assyrien und schickt zum mächtigen König. Doch dieser kann euch auch nicht heilen und euch vom Eiter nicht befreien.
When Ephraim, saw, his injury, and Judah his wound, then went Ephraim unto Assyria, and [Judah] sent unto a hostile king, —yet, he, cannot heal you, nor will the wound, remove from you.
14 Ein Löwe werde ich für Ephraim, für Judas Haus ein junger Leu. Ich selber raube, gehe fort und nehm es mit, und niemand kann es mir entreißen.
For, I, will be as a lion unto Ephraim, and as a young lion to the house of Judah, —I, I, will tear in pieces, and depart, I will carry off, and none be able to rescue.
15 Ich gehe fort und kehre heim zu meinem Lager, bis sie sich schuldig geben und mein Antlitz suchen in der Not, sich ängstlich an mich wendend, sprechen:
I will depart, will return unto my place! till what time they acknowledge their guilt, and seek my face, —In their trouble, will they make for me diligent search.
