Hesekiel 7

1 Das Wort des Herrn erging an mich, also:

Yahweh gave me another message. [He said]

2 "Du Menschensohn! So spricht der Herr, der Herr vom Lande Israel: Ein Ende kommt, das Ende für alle die vier Himmelsgegenden des Landes.

“You human, this is what [I], Yahweh the Lord, say to [the people] [MTY] of Israel: All of Israel will soon be destroyed.

3 Nun kommt das Ende über dich. Ich lasse wider dich dem Zorne freien Lauf und richte dich nach deinem Wandel und bringe über dich all deine Greueltaten.

[people of Israel], the end has come. I will punish you severely. I will judge you for all the wicked things that you have done, and pay you back for your disgusting behavior.

4 Mein Auge blickt nicht mitleidsvoll auf dich. Ich übe keine Schonung mehr; ich lohne deinen Wandel dir, solange deine Greueltaten noch in dir geschehen, daß ihr erkennt: Ich bin der Herr."

I will not pity you or act mercifully toward you. I will [surely] punish you for your wicked behavior [DOU]. Then you will know that [it has happened because] I, Yahweh, [have done it].”

5 So spricht der Herr, der Herr: "Ein Ungemach kommt nach dem andern.

This is [also] what Yahweh the Lord says: “You will soon experience many terrible disasters!

6 Ein Ende kommt. Das Ende kommt. Schon ist es auf dem Weg zu dir. Fürwahr, es kommt.

This will be the [of Israel]; your country will be finished! And your [lives] will be ended [PRS]!

7 Verhängnis über dich, Einwohnerschaft des Landes! Die Zeit erscheint; der Tag ist nah. Verwirrung, nur kein Jubelruf!

It will be the end of you people who live in the [of Israel]. The time has come; the [when you will be destroyed] is near. At that time [the people who worship idols] on the mountains will not be happy; they will panic.

8 Nun gieße ich in Bälde meinen Ingrimm über dich, erschöpfe meinen Zorn an dir und richte dich nach deinem Wandel und bringe über dich all deine Greuel.

I am very angry with you and am about to pour out my punishment [MTY] on you. I will judge you for all the wicked things that you have done and pay you back for your disgusting behavior.

9 Mein Auge blickt nicht mitleidsvoll. Ich übe keine Schonung mehr; ich lohne deinen Wandel dir, solange deine Greuel noch in dir geschehn, daß ihr erkennt: Ich selbst, der Herr, ich bin's, der Schläge führt.

I will not pity you or act mercifully toward you. I will surely punish you for your wicked behavior [DOU]. Then you will know that it is I, Yahweh, who have punished you.

10 Fürwahr, der Tag! Seht her! Er kommt. Verhängnis geht nun aus. Und das Geschwür blüht auf, und die Geschwulst nimmt zu.

The [of your punishment] is here! It has arrived! Disasters have come.

11 Gar Schweres droht dem schlimmen Stamm. Nicht um sich selbst und ihre Volksmenge und ihre Kinder trauern sie.

People are acting violently and doing more wicked things. And nothing that belongs to those people will be left, none of their money, nothing that is valuable.

12 Die Zeit ist da. Der Tag ist nah, da selbst der Käufer sich nicht freut und trauert der Verkäufer. Ein Zorn trifft ihre ganze Masse.

Now is the time; that day has arrived.

13 Denn kein Verkäufer kommt je wieder in Besitz seines verkauften Gutes, falls er noch am Leben bliebe. Denn das Gesicht wird nicht zurückgenommen; es geht auf ihre ganze Masse, und niemand, der in Missetat gelebt, kann sich für sicher halten.

People who buy things should not [because of buying things very cheaply], and those who sell things should not be [because they had to sell things cheaply], [Yahweh] will be punishing [MTY] everyone. During the rest of their lives, people who sell some of their property will never be able to buy it back, because I, Yahweh, will never change my mind about what I have declared; because of your sins, [I will destroy] all of you people.

14 Und stieße man in die Posaune, und hätte alles sich gerüstet, es zöge dennoch niemand in den Kampf; es trifft mein Zorn ja ihre ganze Masse.

Even though [soldiers] blow [to prepare for] a battle, no soldier will go into a battle, because I will have killed all of them.

15 Im freien Feld das Schwert und drinnen Pest und Hunger! Wer auf dem Feld, der stirbt durchs Schwert, wer in der Stadt, den tilgen Hungersnot und Pest.

[When those things happen, your enemies] will be [the city] with their swords, and there will be plagues and famines [the city]. [who flee from the city] into the countryside will be killed [their enemies’] swords, and those who stay in the city will die from famines and plagues.

16 Entrinnen auch ein paar von ihnen, und kommen sie noch in die Berge, so seufzen sie wie Turteltauben, ein jeder über seine Missetat.

Those who survive and escape will flee to the mountains, and they all will moan like doves because of their sins.

17 Schlaff sinken alle Hände nieder; die Knie aller werden naß.

[Because everyone will be very afraid, ] all the people’s hands will become limp and their knees will become very weak.

18 Sie legen Trauerkleider an und hüllen sich in Angst. Auf jedem Angesicht Enttäuschung, auf allen Köpfen Glatzen!

They will put on clothes made from rough cloth, and they will be terrified. Their faces will show that they are ashamed, and they will shave their [to show that they are very sad].

19 Ihr Silber werfen sie hin auf die Gassen; ihr Gold erachten sie als Kot. Ihr Silber und ihr Gold kann sie am Tag der Wut des Herrn nicht retten. Sie können sich davon nicht sättigen und ihren Bauch nicht füllen, war's doch ein Reiz zu ihrer Missetat.

They will throw their silver into the streets, and consider that their gold is only like [SIM] garbage, because they will realize that their silver and gold will not be able to rescue them when I, Yahweh, punish them. They will not be able to use their gold and silver to buy things to fill their stomachs, because having a lot of gold and silver has led them to sin.

20 Aus ihrem Schmuck, dem herrlichen, den sie zu ihrem Ruhm sich hätten machen sollen, verfertigten sie Greuelbilder, ihre Scheusale. Deswegen mache ich's für sie zum Unflat

They were proud of their beautiful jewelry, and they used it to make their detestable idols and disgusting [of their gods]. So I will cause them to be disgusted with those things.

21 und geb als Beute es den Fremden in die Hände, zum Raub den Wildesten der Erde, daß sie's entweihen.

I will give their silver and gold to foreigners who invade your country and take away your valuable treasures. I will give those things to wicked people, and they will do disgraceful things to those treasures that I give them.

22 Ich wende ab mein Angesicht von ihnen; denn sie entweihten ja mein tief Geheimnis; nun dringen Räuber ein, entweihen es.

I will not (interfere with/stop) [IDM] robbers when they enter my sacred temple and desecrate it.

23 Nun schmiede Ketten! Das Land ist voll von Bluturteilen, die Stadt von Grausamkeit.

Prepare chains to be fastened on you. People are being murdered [MTY] throughout the country, and people are acting violently throughout the city.

24 Der Heidenvölker schlimmste laß ich kommen; sie sollen ihre Häuser einnehmen. Dem Übermut der Trotzigen bereite ich ein Ende, und ihre Heiligtümer sollen ihre Heiligkeit verlieren.

So I will bring armies of the nations whose people are extremely wicked to occupy the houses of the Israeli people. I will cause Israeli [who think that they] are [IRO] strong/mighty to no longer be proud. Your enemies will cause your places of worship to no longer be acceptable to be used.

25 Wenn dann die Schreckenszeit eintrifft, so suchen sie wohl Rettung; doch sie finden keine.

When your enemies cause you to be terrified, you will plead for them to make peace, but there will be no peace.

26 Unfall kommt über Unfall, und eine Unglücksbotschaft folgt der anderen. Gesichte wünschen sie sich von Propheten; doch, wie Belehrung Priestern fehlt, so guter Rat den Ältesten.

You will experience many disasters, and you will continually hear [about disasters that are happening in other places]. People will plead with prophets to tell them what visions they have received, [but the prophets will not have received any visions]. Priests will no longer teach people the [that I gave to Moses].

27 Der König ist in Trauer; der Fürst hüllt sich in Schrecken. Des Landvolks Hände sind vor Schrecken lahm. Nach ihrem Wandel lohn ich ihnen und richte sie nach dem, was sie verdient, daß sie erkennen: Ich, ich bin der Herr."

Your king will mourn, and his son will no [longer] [that good things will happen]. The hands of people throughout the country will tremble. And I will do to them what they deserve for their wicked behavior. I will [and condemn] them the same way they have [and condemned] others. Then they will know that I, Yahweh, [have the power to do what I say that I will do].”
