Hesekiel 2
1 Sie sprach zu mir: "Du Menschensohn! Stell dich auf deine Füße, damit ich mit dir reden kann!
And he said unto me, —Son of man, Stand upon thy feet, that I may, speak with thee.
2 Da kam ein Geist in mich, als er zu mir so redete, und er verhalf mir auf die Füße. Nun hörte ich ihn an, der mit mir sprach.
Then the Spirit entered into me as soon as he spake unto me, and it caused me to stand upon my feet, —and I heard one speaking unto me.
3 Er sprach zu mir: "Du Menschensohn! Ich send dich zu den Söhnen Israels, zu einem Volke von Rebellen, die von mir abgefallen sind. Sie, wie schon ihre Väter, haben bis auf diesen Tag den Abfall von mir fortgesetzt.
And he said unto me- Son of man I am sending thee unto the sons of Israel, unto rebellious nations, which have rebelled against me, —they, and their fathers have transgressed against me, until this very day;
4 Die Söhne aber sind noch frecher und verstockter. Zu diesen sende ich dich hin; du sollst zu ihnen sagen: 'So spricht der Herr, der Herr',
and it is unto such sons—of shameless face, and emboldened heart, that I am sending thee, —therefore shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith My Lord, Yahweh.
5 sie mögen's hören oder auch es lassen - sie sind ja doch ein Haus der Widerspenstigkeit -, sie sollen aber wissen, daß unter ihnen ein Prophet verweilt.
And they! whether they will hear or whether they will forbear, for a perverse house, they are, shall then know that, a prophet, hath been in their midst.
6 Du aber, Menschensohn, sei ohne Furcht vor ihnen und ohne Furcht vor ihren Drohungen, obwohl sie Nesseln für dich sind und Dornen und du bei Skorpionen wohnen mußt! Vor ihren Drohungen sei ohne Furcht; vor ihren Blicken zittre nicht, auch wenn sie schon ein Haus der Widerspenstigkeit!
But thou son of man Be not afraid of them Nor of their words, be afraid Though thorns and thistles are about thee, And amongst prickly plants, thou dost dwell, Of their words, be not afraid nor At their faces, be thou dismayed, For a perverse house, they are!
7 Trag ihnen meine Worte vor, sie mögen hören oder nicht! Sie sind der Ungehorsam selbst.
Thou shalt therefore speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear For perverse, they are!
8 Du also, Menschensohn, befolge das, was ich dir sage! Sei doch nicht widerspenstig wie das Haus der Widerspenstigkeit! Tu deinen Mund auf und verzehre, was ich dir jetzt gebe!"
Thou, therefore son of man, hear what I am speaking unto thee., become not perverse like the perverse house, —open thy mouth, and eat that which I am giving unto thee.
9 Danach sah ich mich um, und eine Hand war zu mir hingestreckt, und sieh, darin lag eine Buchrolle.
So I looked, and lo! a hand put forth unto me, —and lo! therein a scroll;
10 Er breitete sie vor mir aus, und sie war in- und auswendig beschrieben, mit der Aufschrift: "Klagrufe, Seufzer, Weheklagen".
and he spread it out before me, and, it was written on the front and the back, —and there were written thereon, lamentation and sighing, and wailing.
