5 Mose 14
1 "Kinder seid ihr dem Herrn, eurem Gott. Ihr sollt euch wegen eines Toten keine Einschnitte machen und euch keine Glatze scheren zwischen den Augen!
Sons, are ye unto Yahweh your God, —ye shall not cut yourselves, neither shall ye put baldness between your eyes for the dead.
2 Denn du bist dem Herrn, deinem Gott, ein heiliges Volk. Dich erkor der Herr aus allen Völkern auf Erden zu seinem Eigenvolke.
For, a holy people, thou art unto Yahweh thy God, —and, of thee, did Yahweh make choice, that thou shouldest become his people as a treasure, above all the peoples that are on the face of the ground.
3 Du sollst nichts Abscheuliches genießen.
Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing.
4 Dies sind die Tiere, die ihr essen dürft: Rind, Schaf, Ziege,
These, are the beasts which ye may eat, —the ox, the young of sheep, and the young of goats;
5 Hirsch, Gazelle, Damhirsch, Steinbock, Antilope, Büffel und Rehbock.
the hart and the gazelle and the roebuck, —and the wild goat and the mountain goat, and the wild ox, and the mountain sheep.
6 Alle Vierfüßler, die gespaltene Klauen haben, und zwar beide Klauen ganz durchgespalten, und die zugleich unter den Vierfüßlern wiederkäuen, dürft ihr essen.
And every beast that parteth the hoof and cleaveth the cleft into two claws, chewing the cud, among beasts, the same, shall ye eat.
7 Dagegen dürft ihr von den Wiederkäuern mit ganz durchgespaltenen Klauen folgende nicht essen: das Kamel, den Hasen und den Klippdachs; denn sie sind zwar Wiederkäuer, haben aber keine durchgespaltenen Klauen. Sie seien euch unrein!
Nevertheless these, shall ye not eat, of them that chew the cud, and of them that divide the cloven hoof, —the camel and the hare and the rabbit for, though they do chew the cud, yet the hoof, do they not part, unclean, they are unto you.
8 Ferner das Schwein. Es hat zwar gespaltene Klauen und sogar ganz durchgespaltene Klauen, ist aber kein Wiederkäuer. Unrein sei es euch! Ihr dürft ihr Fleisch nicht essen und ihr Aas nicht berühren.
And, the swine, because though he doth divide the hoof, yet he cheweth not the cud, unclean, he is unto you, —of their flesh, shall ye not eat, and their carcases, shall ye not touch.
9 Von allen im Wasser lebenden Tieren dürft ihr folgende essen: Ihr dürft essen alles, was Flossen und Schuppen hat.
These, may ye eat of all that that are in the waters, —whatsoever hath fins and scales, ye may eat;
10 Dagegen dürft ihr keines von denen essen, die weder Flossen noch Schuppen besitzen. Unrein seien sie euch!
and, whatsoever hath not, fins and scales, ye may not eat, —unclean, it is unto you.
11 Alle reinen Vögel dürft ihr essen.
Of every clean bird, ye may eat;
12 Ihr dürft aber nicht von folgenden essen: von dem Adler, dem Bartgeier, dem Geier,
saving these, of which ye may not eat, —the eagle and the ossifrage and the osprey;
13 von der Weihe und dem Geschlechte der Falken,
and the vulture and the kite, and the falcon after its kind;
14 dem ganzen Rabengeschlechte
and every raven after its kind;
15 von dem Strauß, der Schwalbe, der Möve und dem Habichtgeschlechte,
and the female ostrich, and the male ostrich and the sea-gull, —and the hawk, after its kind;
16 von dem Käuzchen, dem Uhu, der Eule,
and the pelican and the bittern, and the swan;
17 von dem Pelikan, dem Erdgeier, dem Sturzpelikan,
and the vomiting pelican and the little vulture and the gannet;
18 von dem Storch, dem Regenpfeifergeschlechte, dem Wiedehopf, der Fledermaus!
and the stork, and the parrot, after its kind, —and the mountain-cock, and the bat.
19 Auch alles geflügelte Gewimmel sei euch unrein! Es darf nicht gegessen werden.
And, as for every creeping thing that flieth, unclean, it is unto you, —they, shall not be eaten.
20 Alles reine Geflügel dürft ihr essen.
All clean fowls, ye may eat.
21 ihr dürft aber keinerlei Aas genießen. Dem Fremden in deiner Siedlung magst du es zu essen geben oder an einen Ausländer verkaufen. Denn du bist ein dem Herrn, deinem Gott, geheiligtes Volk. Du sollst nicht ein Böckchen in seiner Mutter Milch kochen.
Ye shall not eat any thing that dieth of itself: to the sojourner who is within thy gates, mayest thou give it and he may eat it or thou mayest sell it to a foreigner, for a holy people, art thou unto Yahweh thy God. Thou shalt not boil a kid, in the milk of its dam.
22 Verzehnten sollst du Jahr für Jahr gewissenhaft deinen ganzen Ernteertrag, den das Feld hervorbringt!
Thou shalt surely tithe, all the increase of thy seed, —which the field bringeth forth year by year.
23 Verzehre vor dem Herrn, deinem Gott, an der Stätte, die er auserwählt, um seinen Namen dort einwohnen zu lassen, den Zehnten deines Getreides, Weins und Öls und die Erstlingswürfe deiner Rinder und Schafe, auf daß du lernst, allzeit den Herrn, deinen Gott, zu fürchten!
And thou shalt eat before Yahweh thy God—in the place which he shall choose to make a habitation for his name there, —the tithe of thy corn thy new wine and thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herd and of thy flock, —that thou mayest learn to revere Yahweh thy God all the days.
24 Ist dir aber der Weg zu weit, daß du es nicht tragen kannst, weil die vom Herrn, deinem Gott, zur Einsetzung seines Namens erwählte Stätte zu weit von dir entfernt ist, und hat dich der Herr, dein Gott, gesegnet,
But, when the way becometh too long for thee because thou canst not carry it, because the place is too far for thee which Yahweh thy God shall choose to put his name there, —because Yahweh thy God blesseth thee,
25 dann mach es zu Geld und nimm das Geld mit! Zieh nach der vom Herrn, deinem Gott, erwählten Stätte!
then shalt thou turn it into silver, —and shalt bind up the silver in thy hand, and shalt journey unto the place, which Yahweh thy God shall choose;
26 Kaufe für das Geld das, was du begehrst, Rinder und Schafe, Wein und Bier, alles, wozu dich dein Herz auffordert! Und genieße dort vor dem Herrn, deinem Gott, und sei fröhlich mit deinem Hause!
and shalt turn the silver into whatsoever thy soul desireth—of the herd or of the flock, or of wine or of strong drink, or of whatsoever thy soul shall ask thee for, —and shalt eat it there, before Yahweh thy God, and shalt rejoice, thou and thy household,
27 Den Leviten in deiner Siedlung solltest du nicht verlassen! Denn er hat bei dir kein Erbteil.
and, the Levite who is within thy gates, thou shalt not forsake him, —for he hath neither portion nor inheritance with thee.
28 Jedes dritte Jahr sollst du den gesamten Zehnten aus deinem Ertrag ausscheiden! Dann leg ihn in deiner Siedlung nieder!
At the end of three years, shalt thou bring forth all the tithe of thine increase in that year, —and shalt lay it up within thy gates;
29 Dann kommen die Leviten, die weder Teil noch Erbe bei dir haben, die Fremdlinge, Waisen und Witwen in deine Siedlung und essen sich satt. Und dann segnet dich der Herr, dein Gott, in all deiner Händearbeit, die du tust."
and the Levite shall come in—because he hath neither portion nor inheritance with thee—and the sojourner and the fatherless and the widow who are within thy gates, and they shall eat and be satisfied, —that Yahweh thy God may bless thee, in all the work of thy hand which thou shalt do.
