2 Samuel 21
1 In Davids Tagen war drei Jahre lang, Jahr für Jahr, eine Hungersnot. Da suchte David das Antlitz des Herrn. Der Herr aber sprach: "Auf Saul und seinem Haus ruht eine Blutschuld, weil er die Gibeoniten getötet hat."
And it was a famine in [the] days of David three years year after year and he sought David [the] face of Yahweh. And he said Yahweh because of Saul and because of [the] house of blood on that he put to death the Gibeonites.
2 Da berief der König die Gibeoniten und sprach zu ihnen. (Die Gibeoniten aber gehörten nicht zu den Söhnen Israels, sondern zu dem Reste der Amoriter. Doch die Söhne Israels hatten sich ihnen eidlich verpflichtet. Saul aber suchte in seinem Eifer für die Söhne Israels und Juda sie auszurotten.)
And he summoned the king the Gibeonites and he said to them and the Gibeonites not [were] from [the] people of Israel they that except from [the] remnant of the Amorite[s] and [the] people of Israel they had sworn an oath to them and he had sought Saul to strike down them because was zealous he for [the] people of Israel and Judah.
3 Da sprach David zu den Gibeoniten: "Was soll ich für euch tun? Womit Sühne schaffen? Segnet doch des Herrn Eigentum!"
And he said David to the Gibeonites what? will I do for you and how? will I make amends and bless [the] inheritance of Yahweh.
4 Da sprachen die Gibeoniten zu ihm: "Wir wollen kein Silber und Gold von Saul und seinem Hause. Auch im übrigen Israel gibt es keinen Mann, dessen Tod wir fordern." Da sprach er: "Was ihr sagt, tue ich für euch."
And they said to him the Gibeonites not (to us *QK) silver and gold with Saul and with house his and not to us a man to put to death in Israel and he said what? [are] you saying I will do for you.
5 Da sprachen sie zum König: "Der Mann, der uns aufgerieben und auf unsere Vernichtung gesonnen, daß wir im ganzen Bereich Israels nicht mehr bestünden:
And they said to the king the man who he made an end of us and who he planned to us we were destroyed from standing in all [the] territory of Israel.
6 aus seinen Söhnen soll man uns sieben Männer geben, daß wir sie dem Herrn aussetzen zu Gibea Sauls, des vom Herrn Erwählten!" Da sprach der König: "Ich gebe Sie."
(Let it be given *Qk) to us seven men from descendants his and we will impale them to Yahweh at Gibeah of Saul [the] chosen one of Yahweh. And he said the king I I will give [them].
7 Der König aber verschonte Mephiboset, den Sohn des Saulssohnes Jonatan, wegen des Herrnschwures, der zwischen David und Sauls Sohn Jonatan bestand.
And he had compassion the king on Mephi-bosheth [the] son of Jonathan [the] son of Saul on [the] oath of Yahweh which [was] between them between David and between Jonathan [the] son of Saul.
8 So nahm der König der Rispa, Ajas Tochter, beide Söhne, die sie Saul geboren hatte, Armoni und Mephiboset, sowie der Merab, Sauls Tochter, fünf Söhne, die sie dem Mecholatiter Adriel, Barzillais Sohn, geboren hatte.
And he took the king [the] two [the] sons of Rizpah [the] daughter of Aiah whom she had borne to Saul Armoni and Mephibosheth and [the] five [the] sons of Michal [the] daughter of Saul whom she had borne to Adriel [the] son of Barzillai the Meholathite.
9 Diese gab er den Gibeoniten. Und sie setzten sie auf dem Berge vor dem Herrn aus. So kamen die Sieben zusammen um. Und zwar starben sie in den Tagen der Gerstenernte, in den ersten Tagen, zu Beginn der Gerstenernte.
And he gave them in [the] hand of the Gibeonites and they impaled them on the mountain before Yahweh and they fell ([the] seven of them *QK) together (and they *Qk) they were put to death in [the] days of harvest in the first (at [the] beginning of *QK) [the] harvest of barley.
10 Da nahm Ajas Tochter Rispa das Trauergewand und breitete es sich auf den Felsen, vom Beginn der Gerstenernte, bis Wasser vom Himmel auf sie floß. So hatte sie es verhütet, daß des Himmels Vögel bei Tag und des Feldes Tiere bei Nacht über sie herfielen.
And she took Rizpah [the] daughter of Aiah sackcloth and she spread out it for herself to the rock from [the] beginning of harvest until it was poured out water on them from the heavens and not she permitted [the] bird[s] of the heavens to rest on them by day and [the] animal[s] of the field night.
11 Da ward David gemeldet, was Rispa, Ajas Tochter und Sauls Nebenweib, getan.
And it was told to David [that] which she had done Rizpah [the] daughter of Aiah [the] concubine of Saul.
12 Da ging David hin und holte die Gebeine Sauls und die seines Sohnes Jonatan von den Bürgern in Jabes Gilead. Sie hatten sie vom Marktplatz in Betsean entführt, wo sie die Philister aufgehängt hatten an jenem Tage, als sie Saul am Gilboa schlugen.
And he went David and he took [the] bones of Saul and [the] bones of Jonathan son his from with [the] citizens of Jabesh Gilead who they had stolen them from [the] open square of Beth Shan where (they had hung up them there [the] Philistines *QK) on [the] day struck down [the] Philistines Saul on Gilboa.
13 So brachte er Sauls und seines Sohnes Jonatan Gebeine von dort weg. Dann sammelte man die Gebeine der Ausgesetzten
And he brought up from there [the] bones of Saul and [the] bones of Jonathan son his and they gathered [the] bones of the impaled [men].
14 und begrub sie mit Sauls und seines Sohnes Jonatan Gebeinen im Lande Benjamin zu Sela im Grabe seines Vaters Kis. So tat man alles, was der König befohlen hatte, und Gott ward danach dem Lande hold gestimmt. -
And they buried [the] bones of Saul and Jonathan son his in [the] land of Benjamin at Zela in [the] tomb of Kish father his and they did all that he commanded the king and he was entreated God for the land after thus.
15 Da war wieder Krieg zwischen den Philistern und Israel. David zog mit seinen Dienern hinab, und sie kämpften mit den Philistern. David aber ward müde.
And it belonged again war to the Philistines with Israel and he went down David and servants his with him and they fought with [the] Philistines and he was weary David.
16 Da nahm ihn Benob gefangen. Dieser gehörte zu den Kindern des Akis, und sein Speer wog 300 Sekel Erz; er hatte erst jüngst den Gurt angelegt. Und schon dachte er daran, David zu erschlagen.
(And Ishbi-*QK) Benob who - [was] among those born of the Raphah and [the] weight of spear his [was] three hundred [the] weight of bronze and he [was] girded a new [weapon] and he said to strike down David.
17 Da kam ihm Serujas Sohn Abisai zu Hilfe. Und er schlug den Philister tot. Damals beschworen Davids Leute ihn: "Du darfst nicht mehr mit uns in den Kampf ziehen, daß du nicht Israels Leuchte verlöschest!"
And he helped him Abishai [the] son of Zeruiah and he struck the Philistine and he killed him then they swore [the] men of David to him saying not you will go out again with us for battle and not you will extinguish [the] lamp of Israel.
18 Hernach war wieder Krieg zu Gob mit den Philistern. Damals schlug der Chusatiter Sibkai den Saph von den Kindern des Akis.
And it was after thus and it was again war at Gob with [the] Philistines then he struck down Sibbecai the Hushathite Saph who [was] among those born of the Raphah.
19 Nochmals war ein Kampf mit den Philistern zu Gob. Da schlug Jairs Sohn Elchanan, ein Weber aus Bethlehem, den Gatiter Goliat, dessen Speerschaft einem Weberbaume glich.
And it was again war at Gob with [the] Philistines and he struck down Elhanan [the] son of Jaare-Oregim [the] Beth-lehemite Goliath the Gittite and [the] wood of spear his [was] like a beam of weavers.
20 Nochmals war ein Kampf bei Gat. Da war ein Kriegsmann, der je sechs Finger an den Händen und je sechs Zehen an den Füßen hatte, zusammen vierundzwanzig, und der ebenfalls von Akis stammte.
And it was again war at Gath and he was - a man of (stature *QK) and [the] fingers of hands his and [the] toes of feet his [were] six and six [was] twenty and four [the] number and also he he was born to the Raphah.
21 Er höhnte Israel. Da schlug ihn Jonatan, der Sohn Simis, des Bruders Davids.
And he taunted Israel and he struck down him Jonathan [the] son of (Shimeah *QK) [the] brother of David.
22 Diese Vier stammten von Akis zu Gat ab, und sie fielen durch Davids und seiner Diener Hand.
Four these they were born to the Raphah in Gath and they fell by [the] hand of David and by [the] hand of servants his.
