2 Chronik 36

1 Die eingesessene Bevölkerung nahm nun Josias Sohn Joachaz und machte ihn zu Jerusalem zum König an seiner Statt.

Then the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and made him king in his father's stead in Jerusalem.

2 Joachaz war dreiundzwanzig Jahre alt, als er König wurde, und regierte drei Monate in Jerusalem.

Jehoahaz [was] twenty and three years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem.

3 Der König von Ägypten setzte ihn zu Jerusalem ab und legte dem Land eine Buße von hundert Talenten Silber und einem Talent Gold auf.

And the king of Egypt deposed him at Jerusalem, and condemned the land in a hundred talents of silver, and a talent of gold.

4 Dann machte Ägyptens König seinen Bruder Eljakim zum König über Juda und Jerusalem und änderte seinen Namen in Jojakim. Seinen Bruder Joachaz aber verhaftete Necho; dann führte er ihn nach Ägypten.

And the king of Egypt made Eliakim his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem, and changed his name to Jehoiakim. And Necho took Jehoahaz his brother, and carried him to Egypt.

5 Jojakim war fünfundzwanzig Jahre alt, als er König wurde, und regierte elf Jahre in Jerusalem. Er tat, was dem Herrn, seinem Gott, mißfiel.

Jehoiakim [was] twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and he did [that which was] evil in the sight of the LORD his God.

6 Gegen ihn zog der König von Babel, Nebukadrezar, heran; dann legte er ihn in Ketten, um ihn nach Babel zu bringen.

Against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon.

7 Auch einen Teil der Geräte im Haus des Herrn brachte Nebukadrezar nach Babel und tat sie zu Babel in seinen Palast.

Nebuchadnezzar also carried of the vessels of the house of the LORD to Babylon, and put them in his temple at Babylon.

8 Der Rest der Geschichte Jojakims und der Greuel, die er verübte, und sein Mißgeschick sind im Buche der Könige von Israel und Juda aufgeschrieben. An seiner Statt ward sein Sohn Jojachin König.

Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and his abominations which he did, and that which was found in him, behold, they [are] written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah. And Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.

9 Jojachin war acht Jahre alt, als er König wurde, und er regierte drei Monate und zehn Tage zu Jerusalem. Er tat, was dem Herrn mißfiel.

Jehoiachin [was] eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem: and he did [that which was] evil in the sight of the LORD.

10 Nach Ablauf des Jahres sandte der König Nebukadrezar; dann brachte er ihn nach Babel samt den kostbaren Geräten aus dem Hause des Herrn. Er machte seines Vaters Bruder Sedekia zum König über Juda und Jerusalem.

And when the year had expired, king Nebuchadnezzar sent, and brought him to Babylon, with the goodly vessels of the house of the LORD, and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.

11 Sedekia war einundzwanzig Jahre alt, als er König wurde, und regierte in Jerusalem elf Jahre.

Zedekiah [was] one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned eleven years in Jerusalem.

12 Er tat, was dem Herrn, seinem Gott, mißfiel. Er demütigte sich nicht vor dem Propheten Jeremias und seinem Worte aus des Herrn Munde.

And he did [that which was] evil in the sight of the LORD his God, [and] humbled not himself before Jeremiah the prophet [speaking] from the mouth of the LORD.

13 Auch gegen den König Nebukadrezar empörte er sich, der ihn bei Gott hatte schwören lassen. Er war halsstarrig und verstockt und kehrte sich nicht zum Herrn, Israels Gott.

And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning to the LORD God of Israel.

14 Auch alle Obersten der Priester samt dem Volk begingen viel Untreue, entsprechend all den heidnischen Greueln. Sie verunreinigten das Haus des Herrn, das er in Jerusalem hatte weihen lassen.

Moreover, all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of the LORD which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.

15 Der Herr, ihrer Väter Gott, sandte zwar durch seine Boten unermüdlich Mahnungen an sie. Denn sein Volk und sein Wohnsitz taten ihm leid.

And the LORD God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling-place:

16 Aber sie verhöhnten Gottes Boten, verachteten ihre Worte und verlachten seine Propheten, bis des Herrn Grimm gegen sein Volk so hoch stieg, daß keine Rettung möglich war.

But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till [there was] no remedy.

17 So führte er gegen sie den Chaldäerkönig, und er schlug ihre Jungmannschaft mit dem Schwerte im Hause ihres Heiligtums. Er verschonte weder Jüngling noch Jungfrau, weder Greis noch Hochbetagten. Alles gab er in seine Hand.

Therefore he brought upon them the king of the Chaldees, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or maiden, old man, or him that stooped for age: he gave [them] all into his hand.

18 Alle Geräte des Gotteshauses, groß und klein, samt den Schätzen im Haus des Herrn und denen des Königs und seiner Obersten, alles brachte er nach Babel.

And all the vessels of the house of God, great and small, and the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king, and of his princes; all [these] he brought to Babylon.

19 Dann verbrannten sie das Gotteshaus und rissen Jerusalems Mauern ein; auch alle seine Paläste äscherten sie ein, und alle ihre kostbaren Geräte gingen zugrunde.

And they burnt the house of God, and broke down the wall of Jerusalem, and burnt all its palaces with fire, and destroyed all its goodly vessels.

20 Und was dem Schwerte entrann, führte er nach Babel in die Gefangenschaft. Sie wurden ihm und seinen Söhnen untertan, bis das Perserreich zur Herrschaft kam.

And them that had escaped from the sword he carried away to Babylon; where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia.

21 So wurde erfüllt des Herrn Wort durch des Jeremias Mund: "Bis seine Sabbate das Land gezählt, genießt es Ruhe in den Tagen der Verwüstung insgesamt, um siebzig Jahre zu erfüllen."

To fulfill the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: [for] as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfill seventy years.

22 Im ersten Jahre des Perserkönigs Cyrus, von da ab gerechnet, wo sich des Herrn Wort durch des Jeremias Mund erfüllte, erweckte der Herr den Geist des Perserkönigs Cyrus, und er ließ in seinem ganzen Reiche folgendes ausrufen und schriftlich bekanntmachen:

Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD [spoken] by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and [put it] also in writing, saying,

23 "So spricht Cyrus, der König von Persien: Alle Reiche der Erde hat mir der Herr, der Gott des Himmels, gegeben. Er selbst hat mir geboten, ihm ein Haus zu bauen zu Jerusalem, das in Juda liegt. Wer unter euch zu seinem Volk gehört, mit diesem sei sein Gott! Er ziehe hinauf!"

Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the LORD God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him a house in Jerusalem, which [is] in Judah. Who [is there] among you of all his people? The LORD his God [be] with him, and let him go up.
