1 Korinther 11
1 Folgt meinem Beispiel, wie ich dem Beispiel Christi folge.
Be imitators of me, even as I also am of Christ.
2 Ich finde es lobenswert an euch, daß ihr in allem an mich denkt und an den Vorschriften festhaltet, wie ich sie euch gegeben habe.
Now I praise you, that you remember me in all things, and hold firm the traditions, even as I delivered them to you.
3 Ihr sollt indes wissen, daß Christus das Haupt jeden Mannes ist, des Weibes Haupt der Mann, Gott aber das Haupt Christi.
But I would have you know that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is the man, and the head of Christ is God.
4 Jeder Mann, der betet oder prophezeit und dabei etwas auf dem Haupte trägt, entehrt sein Haupt.
Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonors his head.
5 Jedes Weib, das betet oder prophezeit und dabei unverhüllten Hauptes ist, entehrt sein Haupt; es ist ja dann geradeso wie eine kahl Geschorene.
But every woman praying or prophesying with her head unveiled dishonors her head. For it is one and the same thing as if she were shaved.
6 Wenn ein Weib sich nicht verhüllen will, so lasse sie sich doch die Haare ganz scheren. Ist es aber für das Weib schimpflich, sich die Haare abschneiden oder ganz abscheren zu lassen, dann möge sie sich verhüllen.
For if a woman is not covered, let her also be shorn. But if it is shameful for a woman to be shorn or shaved, let her be covered.
7 Der Mann braucht sein Haupt nicht zu verhüllen, weil er Abbild und Abglanz Gottes ist. Das Weib jedoch ist ein Abglanz des Mannes;
For a man indeed ought not to have his head covered, because he is the image and glory of God, but the woman is the glory of the man.
8 denn der Mann stammt nicht vom Weibe ab, sondern das Weib vom Manne.
For man is not from woman, but woman from man;
9 Auch wurde nicht der Mann dem Weibe zulieb geschaffen, sondern das Weib dem Manne zulieb.
for neither was man created for the woman, but woman for the man.
10 Darum muß das Weib einen Schleier auf dem Haupte tragen, um der Engel willen.
For this cause the woman ought to have authority on her head, because of the angels.
11 Sonst aber ist das Weib im Herrn nichts ohne seinen Mann, noch der Mann etwas ohne Weib;
Nevertheless, neither is the woman independent of the man, nor the man independent of the woman, in the Lord.
12 denn wie das Weib vom Manne stammt, so stammt ja auch der Mann vom Weibe; und schließlich kommt alles von Gott her.
For as woman came from man, so a man also comes through a woman; but all things are from God.
13 Urteilt doch selber: Ist es wirklich passend für ein Weib, unverhüllt zu Gott zu beten?
Judge for yourselves. Is it appropriate that a woman pray to God unveiled?
14 Lehrt euch denn nicht schon die Natur, daß es für den Mann eine Unehre ist, wenn er sein Haar lang trägt,
Doesn't even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him?
15 dagegen für das Weib ein langes Haar als Zierde gilt? Das Haar ward ihr als Schleier verliehen.
But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her, for her hair is given to her for a covering.
16 Will aber einer durchaus recht behalten, so wißt: Wir kennen eine solche Sitte nicht, und die Gemeinden Gottes auch nicht.
But if anyone seems to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither do God's churches.
17 Bei folgender Ermahnung kann ich euch nicht loben; ihr kommt ja nicht zur Besserung, sondern zur Verschlechterung zusammen.
But in giving you this command, I do not praise you, that you come together not for the better but for the worse.
18 Fürs erste muß ich hören, daß, wenn ihr euch als Gemeinde versammelt, Spaltungen bei euch zutage treten. Und zum Teil möchte ich es glauben.
For first of all, when you come together in the church, I hear that divisions exist among you, and I partly believe it.
19 Es muß ja bei euch auch Spaltungen geben, damit die Erprobten unter euch sich offenbaren.
For there also must be factions among you, that those who are approved may be revealed among you.
20 Wenn ihr also zusammenkommt, so heißt das nimmermehr das Herrenmahl feiern.
When therefore you assemble yourselves together, it is not the Lord's supper that you eat.
21 Jeder nimmt beim Essen sein eigenes Mahl vorweg; der eine ist dann hungrig, der andere betrunken.
For in your eating each one takes his own supper first. One is hungry, and another is drunk.
22 Habt ihr denn keine Häuser zum Essen und Trinken? Oder verachtet ihr die Kirche Gottes, macht ihr die Mittellosen schamrot? Was soll ich euch sagen? Soll ich euch gar noch loben? In diesem Punkte kann ich euch nicht loben.
What, do you not have houses to eat and to drink in? Or do you despise God's church, and put them to shame who do not have? What should I tell you? Should I praise you? In this I do not praise you.
23 Vom Herrn nämlich habe ich empfangen, was ich euch auch überliefert habe: In jener Nacht, da er verraten ward, nahm der Herr Jesus Brot,
For I received from the Lord that which also I delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night in which he was betrayed took bread.
24 dankte, brach es und sprach: "Das ist mein Leib, der für euch hingegeben wird; dies tut zu meinem Andenken!"
When he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, "This is my body, which is for you. Do this in memory of me."
25 Desgleichen nahm er nach dem Mahl auch den Kelch und sprach: "Dieser Kelch ist der Neue Bund in meinem Blute; tut dies, sooft ihr trinket, zu meinem Andenken!"
In the same way he also took the cup, after the meal, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink, in memory of me."
26 Sooft ihr dieses Brot esset und aus dem Kelche trinket, verkündet ihr den Tod des Herrn, bis er wiederkommt.
For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.
27 Wer deshalb unwürdig das Brot ißt oder den Kelch des Herrn trinkt, vergeht sich am Leib und Blut des Herrn.
Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks the Lord's cup in a manner unworthy will be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.
28 So prüfe man sich also selbst und esse dann von dem Brot und trinke aus dem Kelch.
But let a person examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread, and drink of the cup.
29 Denn wer nur ißt und trinkt, der ißt und trinkt ein Strafgericht in sich hinein, weil er den Leib nicht richtig einschätzt.
For he who eats and drinks eats and drinks judgment to himself, if he does not discern the body.
30 Darum sind bei euch so viele schwach und krank, und viele sind auch schon entschlafen.
For this cause many among you are weak and sickly, and not a few sleep.
31 Wenn wir uns selber richtig beurteilten, dann würden wir nicht gerichtet werden.
For if we discerned ourselves, we would not be judged.
32 Wenn wir jedoch vom Herrn gerichtet werden, dann werden wir gezüchtigt, damit wir nicht mit der Welt verdammt werden.
But when we are judged, we are punished by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.
33 Wenn ihr also zum Essen zusammenkommt, meine Brüder, so wartet aufeinander.
Therefore, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait one for another.
34 Hat einer Hunger, dann esse er zu Hause, damit eure Zusammenkunft euch kein Strafgericht einbringe. Das andere will ich anordnen, wenn ich komme.
But if anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, lest your coming together be for judgment. The rest I will set in order whenever I come.
