Esra 5

1 Und Haggai, der Prophet, und Sacharja, der Sohn Iddos, die Propheten, weissagten den Juden, die in Juda und in Jerusalem waren; im Namen des Gottes Israels weissagten sie ihnen.

Forsothe Aggei, the prophete, and Zacharie, the prophete, the sone of Ado, prophesieden, prophesiynge in the name of God of Israel, to the Jewis that weren in Juda and Jerusalem.

2 Da machten sich Serubbabel, der Sohn Schealtiels, und Jeschua, der Sohn Jozadaks, auf und fingen an, das Haus Gottes in Jerusalem zu bauen, und mit ihnen die Propheten Gottes, welche sie unterstützten.

Thanne Zorobabel, the sone of Salatiel, and Josue, the sone of Josedech, risiden, and bigunnen to bilde the temple of God in Jerusalem; and with hem rysyden the prophetis of God, helpynge hem.

3 In jener Zeit kamen Tatnai, der Landpfleger diesseit des Stromes, und Schethar-Bosnai und ihre Genossen zu ihnen und sprachen zu ihnen also: Wer hat euch Befehl gegeben, dieses Haus zu bauen und diese Mauer zu vollenden?

Forsothe in that tyme Tatannai, that was duyk biyende the flood, and Starbusannay, and the counselouris of hem, camen to hem, and seiden thus to hem, Who yaf counsel to you to bilde this hows, and to restore these wallis?

4 Darauf sagten wir ihnen, welches die Namen der Männer wären, die diesen Bau ausführten.

To which thing we answeriden to hem, whiche weren the names of men, autours of that bildyng.

5 Aber das Auge ihres Gottes war über den Ältesten der Juden, daß sie ihnen nicht wehrten, bis die Sache an Darius gelangte und man dann einen Brief darüber zurückschickte.

Forsothe the iye of God of hem was maad on the elde men of Jewis, and thei myyten not forbede the Jewis; and it pleside that the thing schulde be teld to Darius, and thanne thei schulden make satisfaccioun ayens that accusyng.

6 Abschrift des Briefes, den Tatnai, der Landpfleger jenseit des Stromes, und Schethar-Bosnai und seine Genossen, die Apharsakiter, die jenseit des Stromes wohnten, an den König Darius sandten.

7 Sie sandten einen Bericht an ihn, und also war darin geschrieben: Darius, dem König, allen Frieden!

The word which thei senten to hym was writun thus; Al pees be to the kyng Darius.

8 Es sei dem König kundgetan, daß wir in die Landschaft Juda zu dem Hause des großen Gottes gegangen sind; und es wird mit Quadersteinen erbaut, und Balken werden in die Wände gelegt, und diese Arbeit wird eifrig betrieben, und sie gedeiht unter ihrer Hand.

Be it knowun to the kyng, that we yeden to the prouince of Judee, to the hows of greet God, which is bildid with stoon vnpolischid, and trees ben set in the wallis, and thilke werk is bildid diligently, and encreessith in the hondis of hem.

9 Da haben wir jene Ältesten gefragt und also zu ihnen gesprochen: Wer hat euch Befehl gegeben, dieses Haus zu bauen und diese Mauer zu vollenden?

Therfor we axiden tho elde men, and thus we seiden to hem, Who yaf to you power to bilde this hows, and to restore these wallis?

10 Und auch nach ihren Namen haben wir sie gefragt, um sie dir kundzutun, damit wir die Namen der Männer aufschrieben, die ihre Häupter sind.

But also we axiden of hem the names `of hem, that we schulden telle to thee; and we han write the names of men, whiche thei ben, that ben princes among hem.

11 Und also gaben sie uns Antwort und sprachen: Wir sind die Knechte des Gottes des Himmels und der Erde, und wir bauen das Haus wieder auf, das viele Jahre zuvor gebaut wurde; und ein großer König von Israel hatte es gebaut und vollendet.

Sotheli thei answeriden bi sich word, and seiden, We ben the seruauntis of God of heuene and of erthe; and we bilden the temple that was bildid bifor these many yeeris, and `which temple the greet kyng of Israel `hadde bildid, and maad.

12 Aber seitdem unsere Väter den Gott des Himmels gereizt haben, hat er sie in die Hand Nebukadnezars, des Königs von Babel, des Chaldäers, gegeben, und er hat dieses Haus zerstört und das Volk nach Babel weggeführt.

But aftir that oure fadris stiryden God of heuene and of erthe to wrathfulnesse, bothe he bitook hem in the hond of Nabugodonosor, Caldey, kyng of Babiloyne; and he distriede this hows, and translatide the puple therof in to Babiloyne.

13 Doch im ersten Jahre Kores', des Königs von Babel, hat der König Kores Befehl gegeben, dieses Haus Gottes wieder aufzubauen.

Forsothe in the firste yeer of Cirus, king of Babiloyne, Cirus, the king of Babiloyne, settide forth `a comaundement, that the hows of God schulde be bildid.

14 Und auch die goldenen und silbernen Geräte des Hauses Gottes, welche Nebukadnezar aus dem Tempel, der zu Jerusalem war, herausgenommen und in den Tempel zu Babel gebracht hatte, die hat der König Kores aus dem Tempel zu Babel herausgenommen und sie einem gegeben, dessen Name Sesbazar war, den er zum Landpfleger einsetzte.

For whi kyng Cirus brouyte forth `fro the temple of Babiloyne also the goldun and siluerne vessels of Goddis temple, whiche Nabugodonosor hadde take fro the temple, that was in Jerusalem, and hadde bore tho awei in to the temple of Babiloyne; and tho vessels weren youun to Sasabazar bi name, whom `he made also prince. And Cirus seide to hym, Take these vessels,

15 Und er sprach zu ihm: Nimm diese Geräte, ziehe hin, lege sie nieder in dem Tempel, der zu Jerusalem ist; und das Haus Gottes werde wieder aufgebaut an seiner früheren Stätte.

and go, and sette tho in the temple, which is in Jerusalem; and the hows of God be bildid in `his place.

16 Da kam dieser Sesbazar und legte den Grund des Hauses Gottes, das in Jerusalem ist; und von da an bis jetzt wird daran gebaut, es ist aber noch nicht vollendet.

Therfor thanne thilke Sasabazar cam, and settide the foundementis of Goddis temple in Jerusalem; and fro that tyme `til to now it is bildid, and is not yit fillid.

17 Und nun, wenn es den König gutdünkt, so werde nachgesucht in dem Schatzhause des Königs, welches dort zu Babel ist, ob es so sei, daß vom König Kores Befehl gegeben worden ist, dieses Haus Gottes in Jerusalem zu bauen; und der König sende uns seinen Willen hierüber zu.

Now therfor if it `semeth good to the king, rikene he in the biblet of the kyng, which is in Babiloyne, whether it be comaundid of kyng Cyrus, that Goddis hows schulde be bildid in Jerusalem; and sende he to vs the wille of the kyng `on this thing.
