1 Und ein Weib von den Weibern der Söhne der Propheten schrie zu Elisa und sprach: Dein Knecht, mein Mann, ist gestorben, und du weißt ja, daß dein Knecht Jehova fürchtete; und der Schuldherr ist gekommen, um sich meine beiden Knaben zu Knechten zu nehmen.
Forsothe sum womman of the wyues of prophetys criede to Elisee, and seide, Thi seruaunt, myn hosebonde, is deed, and thou knowist that thi seruaunt dredde God; and lo! the creaunser, `that is, he to whom the dette is owid, cometh to take my two sones to serue hym.
2 Und Elisa sprach zu ihr: Was soll ich für dich tun? Sage mir, was du im Hause hast. Und sie sprach: Deine Magd hat gar nichts im Hause, als nur einen Krug Öl.
To whom Elisee seide, What wolt thou that Y do to thee? seie thou to me, what hast thou in thin hows? And she answeride, Y thin handmayde haue not ony thing in myn hows, no but a litil of oile, bi which Y schal be anoyntid.
3 Und er sprach: Gehe hin, erbitte dir Gefäße von draußen, von allen deinen Nachbarn, leere Gefäße, nimm nicht wenige;
To whom he seide, Go thou, and axe bi borewyng of alle thi neiyboris voide vessels not fewe.
4 und gehe hinein und schließe die Tür hinter dir und hinter deinen Söhnen zu, und gieße in alle diese Gefäße; und was voll ist, setze beiseite.
And entre, and close thi dore, whanne thou art with ynne, thou and thi sones; and putte ye therof in to alle these vessels; and whanne tho schulen be ful, thou schalt take awei.
5 Und sie ging von ihm weg und schloß die Tür hinter sich und hinter ihren Söhnen zu; diese reichten ihr, und sie goß ein.
Therfor the womman yede, and closide the dore on hir silf and on hir sones, thei brouyten vessels, and sche `heldide in.
6 Und es geschah, als die Gefäße voll waren, da sprach sie zu ihrem Sohne: Reiche mir noch ein Gefäß. Aber er sprach zu ihr: Es ist kein Gefäß mehr da. Und das Öl stand.
And whanne the vessels weren fulle, sche seide to hir sone, Brynge thou yit a vessel to me. And he answeride, Y haue not. And the oyle stood.
7 Und sie kam und berichtete es dem Manne Gottes; und er sprach: Gehe hin, verkaufe das Öl und bezahle deine Schuld; du aber und deine Söhne, lebet von dem Übrigen.
Forsothe sche cam, and schewide to the man of God; and he seide, Go thou, sil thou the oile, and yelde to thi creauncer; forsothe thou and thi children lyue of the residue.
8 Und es geschah eines Tages, da ging Elisa nach Sunem hinüber; und daselbst war ein wohlhabendes Weib, und sie nötigte ihn, bei ihr zu essen. Und es geschah, sooft er durchzog, kehrte er dort ein, um zu essen.
Forsothe sum day was maad, and Elisee passide bi a citee, Sunam; sotheli a greet womman was there, which helde hym, that he schulde ete breed. And whanne he passide ofte therbi, `he turnede to hir, that he schulde ete breed.
9 Und sie sprach zu ihrem Manne: Siehe doch, ich merke, daß dieser ein heiliger Mann Gottes ist, der beständig bei uns durchzieht.
`Which womman seide to hir hosebonde, Y perseyue that this is an hooli man of God, that passith ofte bi vs;
10 Laß uns doch ein kleines gemauertes Obergemach machen, und ihm ein Bett und Tisch und Stuhl und Leuchter darein stellen; und es geschehe, wenn er zu uns kommt, mag er dort einkehren.
therfor make we a litil soler to hym, and putte we therynne a litil bed to hym, and a boord, and a chaier, and a candilstike; that whanne he cometh to vs, he dwelle there.
11 Und es geschah eines Tages, da kam er dahin, und er kehrte in das Obergemach ein und schlief daselbst.
Therfor sum dai was maad, and he cam, and turnede in to the soler, and restide there.
12 Und er sprach zu Gehasi, seinem Knaben: Rufe diese Sunamitin! Und er rief sie, und sie trat vor ihn hin.
And he seide to Giezi, his child, Clepe thou this Sunamyte. And whanne he hadde clepid hir, and sche hadde stonde
13 Und er sprach zu ihm: Sprich doch zu ihr: Siehe, du hast dir unsertwegen alle diese Sorge gemacht; was ist für dich zu tun? Ist für dich mit dem König zu reden oder mit dem Heerobersten? Und sie sprach: Ich wohne inmitten meines Volkes.
bifor hym, he seide to his child, Speke thou to hir, Lo! thou hast mynystride to vs bisili in alle thingis; what wolt thou that Y do to thee? Whether thou hast a cause, and wolt that Y speke to the kyng, ether to the prince of the chyualrye? And sche answeride, I dwelle in the myddis of my puple.
14 Und er sprach: Was ist denn für sie zu tun? Und Gehasi sprach: Doch! Sie hat keinen Sohn, und ihr Mann ist alt.
And he seide, What therfor wole sche that Y do to hir? Giezi seide to hym, Axe thou not, for she hath no sone, and hir hosebonde is eeld.
15 Und er sprach: Rufe sie! Und er rief sie, und sie trat in die Tür.
Therfor Elisee comaundide, that he schulde clepe hir. And whanne sche was clepid, and stood bifor the dore,
16 Und er sprach: Zu dieser bestimmten Zeit übers Jahr wirst du einen Sohn umarmen. Und sie sprach: Nicht doch mein Herr, du Mann Gottes, belüge deine Magd nicht!
he seide to hir, In this tyme and in this same our, if lijf schal be felow, thou schalt haue a sone in the wombe. And sche answeride, Nyle thou, my lord, the man of God, Y biseche, nyle thou lye to thin hondmaide.
17 Und das Weib wurde schwanger und gebar einen Sohn zu dieser bestimmten Zeit übers Jahr, wie Elisa zu ihr geredet hatte.
And the womman conseyuede, and childide a sone in the tyme, and in the same our, in which Elisee hadde seid.
18 Und das Kind wuchs heran. Und es geschah eines Tages, da ging es hinaus zu seinem Vater, zu den Schnittern.
Sotheli the child encreeside; and whanne sum day was, and the child was goon out, and yede to his fadir,
19 Und es sprach zu seinem Vater: Mein Kopf, mein Kopf! Und er sprach zu dem Knechte: Trage ihn zu seiner Mutter.
and to the repers, he seide to his fadir, Myn heed akith, myn heed akith. And he seide to a child, Take, and lede hym to his modir.
20 Und er nahm ihn auf und brachte ihn zu seiner Mutter; und er saß auf ihren Knien bis zum Mittag, und er starb.
And whanne he hadde take, and hadde brouyt hym to his modir, sche settide hym on hir knees `til to myddai, and he was deed.
21 Da ging sie hinauf und legte ihn auf das Bett des Mannes Gottes, und schloß hinter ihm zu und ging hinaus.
Sotheli she stiede, and leide hym on the litil bed of the man of God, and closide the dore.
22 Und sie rief ihren Mann und sprach: Sende mir doch einen von den Knaben und eine von den Eselinnen, und ich will zu dem Manne Gottes laufen und wiederkommen.
And sche yede out, and clepide hir hosebonde, and seide, Y biseche, sende thou with me oon of the children, and an asse, and Y schal renne out `til to the man of God, and Y schal turne ayen.
23 Und er sprach: Warum willst du heute zu ihm gehen? Es ist weder Neumond noch Sabbath. Und sie sprach: Es ist gut.
And he seide to hir, For what cause goist thou to hym? to dai ben not calendis, nether sabat. And she answeride, Y schal go.
24 Und sie sattelte die Eselin und sprach zu ihrem Knaben: Treibe immerfort; halte mich nicht auf im Reiten, es sei denn, daß ich es dir sage!
And sche sadlide the asse, and comaundide to the child, Dryue thou, and haaste; make thou not tariyng to me in goyng, and do thou this thing which Y comaunde to thee.
25 So zog sie hin und kam zu dem Manne Gottes auf den Berg Karmel. Und es geschah, als der Mann Gottes sie von ferne sah, da sprach er zu Gehasi, seinem Knaben: Siehe da, die Sunamitin!
Therfor sche yede forth, and cam to the man of God, in to the hil of Carmele. And whanne the man of God hadde seyn hir euene ayen, he seide to Giezi, his child, Lo! thilke Sunamyte; go thou therfor in to the metyng of hir,
26 Nun laufe ihr doch entgegen und sprich zu ihr: Geht es dir wohl? Geht es deinem Manne wohl? Geht es dem Kinde wohl?
and seie thou to hir, Whether it is doon riytfuli aboute thee, and aboute thin hosebonde, and aboute thi sone? And sche answeride, Riytfuli.
27 Und sie sprach: Wohl. Und sie kam zu dem Manne Gottes auf den Berg und umfaßte seine Füße. Da trat Gehasi herzu, um sie wegzustoßen. Aber der Mann Gottes sprach: Laß sie! Denn ihre Seele ist betrübt; und Jehova hat es mir verborgen und mir nicht kundgetan.
And whanne sche hadde come to the man of God, in to the hil, sche took his feet; and Giezi neiyede, that he schulde remoue hir. And the man of God seide, Suffre thou hir; for hir soule is in bitternesse, and the Lord helde priuy fro me, and schewide not to me.
28 Und sie sprach: Habe ich einen Sohn von meinem Herrn erbeten? Habe ich nicht gesagt: Täusche mich nicht?
And sche seide to hym, Whether I axide my sone of my lord? Whether Y seide not to thee, Scorne thou not me?
29 Da sprach er zu Gehasi: Gürte deine Lenden, und nimm meinen Stab in deine Hand und gehe hin; wenn du jemand triffst, grüße ihn nicht, und wenn jemand dich grüßt, antworte ihm nicht; und lege meinen Stab auf das Angesicht des Knaben.
And he seide to Giezi, Girde thi leendis, and take my staf in thin hond, and go; if a man metith thee, grete thou not hym; and if ony man gretith thee, answere thou not hym; and putte thou my staf on the face of the child.
30 Und die Mutter des Knaben sprach: So wahr Jehova lebt und deine Seele lebt, wenn ich von dir lasse! Da machte er sich auf und ging ihr nach.
Forsothe the `modir of the child seide, The Lord lyueth and thi soule lyueth, Y schal not leeue, `ether forsake, thee. Therfor he roos, and suede hir.
31 Gehasi aber war ihnen vorausgegangen und hatte den Stab auf das Angesicht des Knaben gelegt; aber da war keine Stimme und kein Aufmerken. Und er kehrte zurück, ihm entgegen, und berichtete ihm und sprach: Der Knabe ist nicht erwacht.
Sotheli Giezi yede bifor hem, and puttide the staaf on the face of the child; and `vois was not, nether wit. And Giezi turnede ayen to the meetyng of hym; and telde to him, and seyde, The child `roos not.
32 Und als Elisa in das Haus kam, siehe, da war der Knabe tot, hingelegt auf sein Bett.
Therfor Elisee entride in to the hows, and, lo! the deed child lai in his bed.
33 Und er ging hinein und schloß die Tür hinter ihnen beiden zu und betete zu Jehova.
And he entride, and closide the dore on hym silf, and on the child; and preiede to the Lord.
34 Und er stieg hinauf und legte sich auf das Kind, und er legte seinen Mund auf dessen Mund, und seine Augen auf dessen Augen, und seine Hände auf dessen Hände und beugte sich über dasselbe; und das Fleisch des Kindes wurde warm.
And he stiede, and lay on the child; and he puttide his mouth on the mouth of the child, and hise iyen on the iyen of the child, and hise hondis on the hondis of the child. And he bouwide hym silf on the child; and the fleisch of the child was maad hoot.
35 Und er kam zurück und ging im Hause einmal dahin und einmal dorthin, und er stieg wieder hinauf und beugte sich über ihn. Da nieste der Knabe siebenmal, und der Knabe schlug seine Augen auf.
And he turnede ayen, and walkide in the hows onys hidur and thidur; and Elisee stiede, and lai on the child, and the child yoxide seuene sithis, and openyde the iyen.
36 Und er rief Gehasi und sprach: Rufe diese Sunamitin. Und er rief sie, und sie kam zu ihm herein. Und er sprach: Nimm deinen Sohn.
And he clepide Giezi, and seide to hym, Clepe thou this Sunamyte. And sche was clepid, and entride to hym. And he seide, Take thi sone.
37 Da kam sie und fiel ihm zu Füßen und beugte sich zur Erde nieder; und sie nahm ihren Sohn und ging hinaus.
She cam, and felde doun to his feet, and worschipide on erthe; and sche took hir sone, and yede out.
38 Elisa aber kehrte nach Gilgal zurück. Und es war Hungersnot im Lande. Und die Söhne der Propheten saßen vor ihm. Und er sprach zu seinem Knaben: Setze den großen Topf auf und koche ein Gericht für die Söhne der Propheten.
And Elisee turnede ayen in to Galgala. Forsothe hungur was in the lond, and the sones of prophetis dwelliden bifor hym. And Elisee seide to oon of his children, Set thou a greet pot, and sethe thou potage to the sones of prophetis.
39 Da ging einer auf das Feld hinaus, um Kräuter zu lesen, und er fand eine wilde Rebe und las davon wilde Koloquinthen, sein Kleid voll, und er kam und zerschnitt sie in den Kochtopf, denn sie kannten sie nicht.
And oon yede out in to the feeld to gadere eerbis of the feeld; and he foond as a wilde vyne, and he gaderide therof gourdis of the feeld. And he fillide his mentil, and he turnede ayen, and schredde in to the pot of potage; for he wiste not what it was.
40 Und sie schütteten es aus zum Essen für die Männer. Aber es geschah, als sie von dem Gericht aßen, da schrieen sie und sprachen: Der Tod ist im Topfe, Mann Gottes! Und sie konnten es nicht essen.
Therfor thei helden yn to felowis to ete; and whanne thei hadden taastid of the sething, thei crieden out, and seiden, Deth in the pot! deeth in the pot! thou man of God. And thei miyten not ete. And he seide, Brynge ye meele.
41 Da sprach er: So holet Mehl her! Und er warf es in den Topf und sprach: Schütte es aus für die Leute, daß sie essen. Und es war nichts Schlimmes mehr im Topfe.
And whanne thei hadden brouyt, he puttide in to the pot, and seide, Helde ye to the cumpany, that thei ete; and ony thing of bitternesse was nomore in the pot.
42 Und ein Mann kam von Baal-Schalischa und brachte dem Manne Gottes Brot der Erstlinge, zwanzig Gerstenbrote, und Gartenkorn in seinem Sacke. Und er sprach: Gib es den Leuten, daß sie essen!
Forsothe sum man cam fro the pleyn of Salisa, and bar to the man of God looues of the firste fruytis, ten looues of barli, and newe wheete, in his scrippe. And the man of God seide, Yyue thou to the puple, that it ete.
43 Und sein Diener sprach: Wie soll ich dieses hundert Männern vorsetzen? Und er sprach: Gib es den Leuten, daß sie essen! Denn so spricht Jehova: Man wird essen und übriglassen.
And his mynystre answeride to hym, `Hou myche is this, that Y sette bifor an hundrid men? Eft Elisee seide, Yyue thou to the puple, that it ete; for the Lord seith these thingis, Thei schulen ete, and it shal leeue.
44 Und er setzte es ihnen vor; und sie aßen und ließen übrig, nach dem Worte Jehovas.
Therfor he puttide bifor hem, whiche eeten; and it lefte, bi the word of the Lord.
