Psalm 26
1 [Von David.] Richte mich, [d. h. Urteile über mich] Jehova! denn in meiner Lauterkeit habe ich gewandelt; und auf Jehova habe ich vertraut, ich werde nicht wanken.
[A Psalm] of David. Judge me, O Lord; for I have walked in my innocence: and hoping in the Lord I shall not be moved.
2 Prüfe mich, Jehova, und erprobe mich; läutere meine Nieren und mein Herz!
Prove me, O Lord, and try me; purify as with fire my reins and my heart.
3 Denn deine Güte ist vor meinen Augen, und in deiner Wahrheit wandle ich.
For thy mercy is before mine eyes: and I am well pleased with thy truth.
4 Nicht habe ich gesessen bei falschen Leuten, und mit Hinterlistigen ging ich nicht um.
I have not sat with the council of vanity, and will in nowise enter in with transgressors.
5 Ich habe die Versammlung der Übeltäter gehaßt, und bei Gesetzlosen saß ich nicht.
I have hated the assembly of wicked doers; and will not sit with ungodly [men].
6 Ich wasche in Unschuld meine Hände, und umgehe [O. will [möchte] umgehen] deinen Altar, Jehova,
I will wash my hands in innocency, and compass thine altar, O Lord:
7 Um hören zu lassen die Stimme des Lobes, [O. Dankes] und um zu erzählen alle deine Wundertaten.
to hear the voice of praise, and to declare all thy wonderful works.
8 Jehova, ich habe geliebt die Wohnung deines Hauses und den Wohnort deiner Herrlichkeit.
O Lord, I have loved the beauty of thy house, and the place of the tabernacle of thy glory.
9 Raffe meine Seele nicht weg mit [O. Sammle nicht zu] Sündern, noch mein Leben mit Blutmenschen,
Destroy not my soul together with the ungodly, nor my life with bloody men:
10 In deren Händen böses Vornehmen, [O. Schandtat] und deren Rechte voll Bestechung ist!
in whose hands [are] iniquities, [and] their right hand is filled with bribes.
11 Ich aber wandle [O. werde wandeln] in meiner Lauterkeit. Erlöse mich und sei mir gnädig!
But I have walked in my innocence: redeem me, and have mercy upon me.
12 Mein Fuß steht auf ebenem Boden: Jehova werde ich preisen in den Versammlungen.
My foot stands in an even place: in the congregations will I bless thee, O Lord.
