Lukas 4
1 Jesus aber, voll Heiligen Geistes, kehrte vom Jordan zurück und wurde durch [W. in [in der Kraft des]] den Geist in der Wüste vierzig Tage umhergeführt,
Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness
2 indem er von dem Teufel versucht wurde. Und er aß in jenen Tagen nichts; und als sie vollendet waren, hungerte ihn.
for forty days, being tempted by the devil. He ate nothing in those days. When they were completed, he was hungry.
3 Und der Teufel sprach zu ihm: Wenn du Gottes Sohn bist, so sprich zu diesem Steine, daß er Brot werde.
The devil said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread."
4 Und Jesus antwortete ihm und sprach: Es steht geschrieben: "Nicht von Brot allein soll der Mensch leben, sondern von jedem Worte Gottes". [5. Mose 8,3]
Jesus answered him, saying, "It is written, 'Humankind cannot live by bread alone.'"
5 Und der Teufel führte ihn auf einen hohen Berg und zeigte ihm in einem Augenblick alle Reiche des Erdkreises.
And leading him up to a high mountain, the devil showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
6 Und der Teufel sprach zu ihm: Ich will dir alle diese Gewalt und ihre Herrlichkeit geben; denn mir ist sie übergeben, und wem irgend ich will, gebe ich sie.
The devil said to him, "I will give you all this authority, and their glory, for it has been delivered to me; and I give it to whomever I want.
7 Wenn du nun vor mir anbeten [O. huldigen; so auch v 8] willst, soll sie alle dein sein.
If you therefore will worship before me, it will all be yours."
8 Und Jesus antwortete ihm und sprach: Es steht geschrieben: "Du sollst den Herrn, deinen Gott, anbeten und ihm allein dienen". [5. Mose 6,13]
Jesus answered and said to him, "It is written, 'You are to worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'"
9 Und er führte ihn nach Jerusalem und stellte ihn auf die Zinne des Tempels [die Gebäude] und sprach zu ihm: Wenn du Gottes Sohn bist, so wirf dich von hier hinab;
He led him to Jerusalem, and set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, cast yourself down from here,
10 denn es steht geschrieben: "Er wird seinen Engeln über dir befehlen, daß sie dich bewahren;
for it is written, 'He will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you;'
11 und sie werden dich auf den Händen tragen, damit du nicht etwa deinen Fuß an einen Stein stoßest". [Ps. 91,11-12]
and, 'On their hands they will bear you up, lest perhaps you dash your foot against a stone.'"
12 Und Jesus antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Es ist gesagt: "Du sollst den Herrn, deinen Gott, nicht versuchen". [5. Mose 6,16]
And Jesus, answering, said to him, "It is said, 'Do not test the Lord, your God.'"
13 Und als der Teufel jede Versuchung vollendet hatte, wich er für eine Zeit [O. bis zu einer anderen Zeit] von ihm.
When the devil had completed every temptation, he departed from him until another time.
14 Und Jesus kehrte in der Kraft des Geistes nach Galiläa zurück, und das Gerücht über ihn ging aus durch die ganze Umgegend.
Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee, and news about him spread through all the surrounding area.
15 Und er lehrte in ihren Synagogen, geehrt von allen.
He taught in their synagogues, being praised by all.
16 Und er kam nach Nazareth, wo er erzogen war; und er ging nach seiner Gewohnheit am Sabbathtage in die Synagoge und stand auf, um vorzulesen.
He came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. He entered, as was his custom, into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.
17 Und es wurde ihm das Buch des Propheten Jesaias gereicht; und als er das Buch aufgerollt hatte, fand er die Stelle, wo geschrieben war:
The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him, and unrolling the scroll, he found the place where it was written,
18 "Der Geist des Herrn ist auf mir, weil er mich gesalbt hat, Armen gute Botschaft zu verkündigen; er hat mich gesandt, Gefangenen Befreiung auszurufen und Blinden das Gesicht, Zerschlagene in Freiheit hinzusenden,
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed,
19 auszurufen das angenehme [O. wohlgefällige] Jahr des Herrn". [Jes. 61,1-2]
and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord."
20 Und als er das Buch zugerollt hatte, gab er es dem Diener zurück und setzte sich; und aller Augen in der Synagoge waren auf ihn gerichtet.
He closed the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of all in the synagogue were fastened on him.
21 Er fing aber an, zu ihnen zu sagen: Heute ist diese Schrift vor euren Ohren erfüllt.
He began to tell them, "Today, this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing."
22 Und alle gaben ihm Zeugnis und verwunderten sich über die Worte der Gnade, die aus seinem Munde hervorgingen; und sie sprachen: Ist dieser nicht der Sohn Josephs?
All testified about him, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth, and they said, "Is not this Joseph's son?"
23 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Ihr werdet allerdings dieses Sprichwort [Eig. Gleichnis] zu mir sagen: Arzt, heile dich selbst; alles, was wir gehört haben, daß es in Kapernaum geschehen sei, tue auch hier in deiner Vaterstadt.
He said to them, "Doubtless you will tell me this parable, 'Physician, heal yourself. Whatever we have heard done at Capernaum, do also here in your hometown.'"
24 Er sprach aber: Wahrlich, ich sage euch, daß kein Prophet in seiner Vaterstadt angenehm [O. wohlgefällig] ist.
He said, "Truly I tell you, no prophet is acceptable in his hometown.
25 In Wahrheit aber sage ich euch: Viele Witwen waren in den Tagen Elias in Israel, als der Himmel drei Jahre und sechs Monate verschlossen war, so daß eine große Hungersnot über das ganze Land kam;
But truly I tell you, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut up three years and six months, when a great famine came over all the land.
26 und zu keiner von ihnen wurde Elias gesandt, als nur nach Sarepta in Sidonia, zu einem Weibe, einer Witwe.
Elijah was sent to none of them, except to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow.
27 Und viele Aussätzige waren zur Zeit des Propheten Elisa in Israel, und keiner von ihnen wurde gereinigt, als nur Naaman, der Syrer.
There were many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed, except Naaman, the Syrian."
28 Und alle wurden von Wut erfüllt in der Synagoge, als sie dies hörten.
They were all filled with wrath in the synagogue, as they heard these things.
29 Und sie standen auf und stießen ihn zur Stadt hinaus und führten ihn bis an den Rand des Berges, auf welchem ihre Stadt erbaut war, um ihn so hinabzustürzen.
They rose up, threw him out of the city, and led him to the brow of the hill that their city was built on, that they might throw him off the cliff.
30 Er aber, durch ihre Mitte hindurchgehend, ging hinweg.
But he, passing through the midst of them, went his way.
31 Und er kam nach Kapernaum hinab, einer Stadt in Galiläa, und lehrte sie an den Sabbathen.
He came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee. He was teaching them on the Sabbath day,
32 Und sie erstaunten sehr über seine Lehre, denn sein Wort war mit Gewalt.
and they were astonished at his teaching, for his word was with authority.
33 Und es war in der Synagoge ein Mensch, der einen Geist eines unreinen Dämons hatte, und er schrie auf mit lauter Stimme
In the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon, and he shouted with a loud voice,
34 und sprach: Laß ab! [O. Ha!] was haben wir mit dir zu schaffen, Jesu, Nazarener? Bist du gekommen, uns zu verderben? Ich kenne dich, wer du bist: der Heilige Gottes.
saying, "Ah. What have we to do with you, Jesus, Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are — the Holy One of God."
35 Und Jesus bedrohte ihn und sprach: Verstumme und fahre aus von ihm! Und als der Dämon ihn mitten unter sie geworfen hatte, fuhr er von ihm aus, ohne ihn zu beschädigen.
Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be silent, and come out of him." When the demon had thrown him down in their midst, he came out of him, having done him no harm.
36 Und Entsetzen kam über alle, und sie redeten untereinander und sprachen: Was ist dies für ein Wort? denn mit Gewalt und Kraft gebietet er den unreinen Geistern, und sie fahren aus.
Amazement came on all, and they spoke together, one with another, saying, "What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out."
37 Und das Gerücht über ihn ging aus in jeden Ort der Umgegend.
News about him went out into every place of the surrounding region.
38 Er machte sich aber auf von der Synagoge und kam in das Haus Simons. Die Schwiegermutter des Simon aber war von einem starken Fieber befallen; und sie baten ihn für sie.
He rose up from the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. Now Simon's mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they appealed to him about her.
39 Und über ihr stehend, bedrohte er das Fieber, und es verließ sie; sie aber stand alsbald auf und diente ihnen.
He stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her. Immediately she rose up and served them.
40 Als aber die Sonne unterging, brachten alle, welche an mancherlei Krankheiten Leidende hatten, dieselben zu ihm; er aber legte einem jeden von ihnen die Hände auf und heilte sie.
When the sun was setting, all those who had any sick with various diseases brought them to him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.
41 Und auch Dämonen fuhren von vielen aus, indem sie schrieen und sprachen: Du bist der Sohn Gottes. Und er bedrohte sie und ließ sie nicht reden, weil sie wußten, daß er der Christus war.
Demons also came out from many, crying out, and saying, "You are the Son of God." But he rebuked them and did not allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ.
42 Als es aber Tag geworden war, ging er aus und begab sich an einen öden Ort; und die Volksmenge suchte ihn auf und kam bis zu ihm, und sie hielten ihn auf, daß er nicht von ihnen ginge.
When it was day, he departed and went into an uninhabited place, and the crowds looked for him, and came to him, and held on to him, so that he would not go away from them.
43 Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Ich muß auch den anderen Städten das Evangelium vom Reiche Gottes verkündigen, denn dazu bin ich gesandt worden.
But he said to them, "I must proclaim the good news of the Kingdom of God to the other cities also. For this reason I have been sent."
44 Und er predigte in den Synagogen von Galiläa.
And he was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.
