Josua 8
1 Und Jehova sprach zu Josua: Fürchte dich nicht und erschrick nicht! Nimm alles Kriegsvolk mit dir und mache dich auf, ziehe hinauf nach Ai. Siehe, ich habe den König von Ai und sein Volk und seine Stadt und sein Land in deine Hand gegeben.
And he said Yahweh to Joshua may not you fear and may not you be dismayed take with you all [the] people of war and arise go up Ai see - I have given in hand your [the] king of Ai and people his and city his and land his.
2 Und du sollst an Ai und an seinem König tun, so wie du an Jericho und an seinem König getan hast; jedoch seine Beute und sein Vieh dürft ihr für euch plündern. Lege dir einen Hinterhalt gegen die Stadt, in ihren Rücken.
And you will do to Ai and to king its just as you did to Jericho and to king its only booty its and livestock its you will plunder for yourselves set for yourself an ambush for the city behind it.
3 Da machte sich Josua mit allem Kriegsvolk auf, um nach Ai hinaufzuziehen. Und Josua wählte 30000 Mann aus, streitbare Männer, und sandte sie ab bei der Nacht.
And he arose Joshua and all [the] people of war to go up Ai and he chose Joshua thirty thousand man [the] mighty [men] of strength and he sent out them night.
4 Und er gebot ihnen und sprach: Sehet, ihr sollt den Hinterhalt bilden gegen die Stadt, im Rücken der Stadt; entfernet euch nicht allzuweit von der Stadt, sondern seid alle bereit.
And he commanded them saying see you [are] lying in wait for the city behind the city may not you go far away from the city very and you will be all of you prepared.
5 Und ich und alles Volk, das bei mir ist, wir wollen uns der Stadt nähern; und es soll geschehen, wenn sie herauskommen, uns entgegen, wie das erste Mal, so wollen wir vor ihnen fliehen.
And I and all the people which [is] with me we will draw near to the city and it will be that they will come out to meet us just as at the first [time] and we will flee before them.
6 Und sie werden herausziehen hinter uns her, bis wir sie von der Stadt abgerissen haben; denn sie werden sagen: Sie fliehen vor uns wie das erste Mal! und wir wollen vor ihnen fliehen.
And they will come out after us until have drawn out we them from the city for they will say [they are] fleeing before us just as at the first [time] and we will flee before them.
7 Dann sollt ihr euch aus dem Hinterhalt aufmachen und die Stadt in Besitz nehmen; und Jehova, euer Gott, wird sie in eure Hand geben.
And you you will arise from the ambush and you will take possession of the city and he will give it Yahweh God your in hand your.
8 Und es soll geschehen, wenn ihr die Stadt eingenommen habt, so sollt ihr die Stadt mit Feuer anzünden; nach dem Worte Jehovas sollt ihr tun. Sehet, ich habe es euch geboten. -
And it will be when have captured you the city you will set on fire the city with fire according to [the] word of Yahweh you will do see I have commanded you.
9 Und Josua sandte sie ab, und sie zogen in den Hinterhalt und hielten zwischen Bethel und Ai, westlich von Ai. Und Josua brachte jene Nacht in der Mitte des Volkes zu.
And he sent out them Joshua and they went to the ambush and they remained between Beth-el and between Ai from [the] west of Ai and he stayed Joshua in the night that in among the people.
10 Und Josua machte sich des Morgens früh auf und musterte das Volk; und er zog hinauf, er und die Ältesten von Israel, vor dem Volke her nach Ai.
And he rose early Joshua in the morning and he mustered the people and he went up he and [the] elders of Israel before the people Ai.
11 Und alles Kriegsvolk, das bei ihm war, zog hinauf und rückte heran, und sie kamen der Stadt gegenüber; und sie lagerten sich nördlich von Ai, und das Tal war zwischen ihm und Ai.
And all the people of war which [was] with him they went up and they approached and they came before the city and they encamped from [the] north of Ai and the valley ([was] between it *Qk) and between Ai.
12 Er hatte aber bei fünftausend Mann genommen und sie als Hinterhalt zwischen Bethel und Ai gelegt, westlich von der Stadt.
And he took about five thousand man and he set them an ambush between Beth-el and between Ai from [the] west of the city.
13 Und so stellten sie das Volk auf, das ganze Lager, das nördlich von der Stadt war, und dessen Hinterhalt westlich von der Stadt; und Josua zog in selbiger Nacht mitten in das Tal.
And they set the people all the camp which [was] from [the] north of the city and rearguard its from [the] west of the city and he went Joshua in the night that in [the] middle of the valley.
14 Und es geschah, als der König von Ai es sah, da eilten die Männer der Stadt und machten sich früh auf und zogen hinaus, Israel entgegen zum Streit, er und all sein Volk, an den bestimmten Ort, vor [d. h. östlich von] der Ebene. [H. Araba, wie Kap. 3,16; so auch Kap. 11,2. 16;12,1. 3. 8;18,18] Er wußte aber nicht, daß ihm im Rücken der Stadt ein Hinterhalt gelegt war.
And it was when saw [the] king of Ai and they hurried and they rose early and they went out [the] men of the city to meet Israel for battle he and all people his to the appointed place before the Arabah and he not he knew that an ambush for him [was] behind the city.
15 Und Josua und ganz Israel ließen sich vor ihnen schlagen und flohen des Weges zur Wüste.
And they were struck Joshua and all Israel before them and they fled [the] direction of the wilderness.
16 Da wurde das ganze Volk, das in der Stadt war, zusammengerufen, um ihnen nachzujagen; und sie jagten Josua nach und wurden von der Stadt abgerissen.
And they were called together all the people which ([was] in Ai *QK) to pursue after them and they pursued after Joshua and they were drawn out from the city.
17 Und es blieb kein Mann in Ai und Bethel übrig, der nicht hinter Israel her ausgezogen wäre; und sie ließen die Stadt offen und jagten Israel nach.
And not he remained anyone in Ai and Beth-el who not they went out after Israel and they left the city open and they pursued after Israel.
18 Da sprach Jehova zu Josua: Strecke den Spieß, der in deiner Hand ist, gegen Ai aus; denn ich will es in deine Hand geben. Und Josua streckte den Spieß, der in seiner Hand war, gegen die Stadt aus.
And he said Yahweh to Joshua stretch out with the javelin which [is] in hand your to Ai for in hand your I will give it and he stretched out Joshua with the javelin which [was] in hand his to the city.
19 Und der Hinterhalt machte sich eilends von seinem Orte auf und lief, als er seine Hand ausstreckte, und sie kamen in die Stadt und nahmen sie ein; und sie eilten und zündeten die Stadt mit Feuer an.
And the ambush it arose quickly from place its and they ran when stretched out hand his and they went the city and they captured it and they hurried and they set on fire the city with fire.
20 Und die Männer von Ai wandten sich um und sahen, und siehe, der Rauch der Stadt stieg gen Himmel empor; und sie hatten keine Kraft, dahin noch dorthin zu fliehen. Denn das Volk, das nach der Wüste hin geflohen war, wandte sich um gegen die Nachjagenden.
And they turned [the] men of Ai behind them and they saw and there! it went up [the] smoke of the city the heavens towards and not it was in them hands to flee hither and hither and the people which was fleeing the wilderness it turned back against the pursuer.
21 Denn als Josua und ganz Israel sahen, daß der Hinterhalt die Stadt eingenommen hatte, und daß der Rauch der Stadt emporstieg, da kehrten sie um und schlugen die Männer von Ai.
And Joshua and all Israel they saw that it had captured the ambush the city and that it went up [the] smoke of the city and they turned back and they attacked [the] men of Ai.
22 Jene aber zogen aus der Stadt ihnen entgegen, so daß sie mitten zwischen Israel waren, die einen von hierher und die anderen von dorther. Und sie schlugen sie, bis ihnen kein Entronnener oder Entkommener übrigblieb.
And these [men] they came out from the city to meet them and they were to Israel in the middle these from this and these from this and they struck down them until not he had left to him a survivor and a fugitive.
23 Und den König von Ai griffen sie lebendig und brachten ihn zu Josua.
And [the] king of Ai they captured alive and they brought near him to Joshua.
24 Und es geschah, als Israel das Würgen aller Bewohner von Ai auf dem Felde, in der Wüste, wo sie ihnen nachgejagt waren, beendigt hatte, und sie alle durch die Schärfe des Schwertes gefallen, bis sie aufgerieben waren, da kehrte ganz Israel um nach Ai, und sie schlugen es mit der Schärfe des Schwertes.
And it was when had finished Israel to kill all [the] inhabitants of Ai in the open country in the wilderness which they had pursued them in it and they had fallen all of them to [the] mouth of [the] sword until were finished they and they returned all Israel Ai and they attacked it to [the] mouth of [the] sword.
25 Und alle an selbigem Tage Gefallenen, sowohl Männer als Weiber, waren zwölftausend, alle Leute von Ai.
And it was all those [who] fell on the day that from man and unto woman two plus ten thousand all [the] people of Ai.
26 Und Josua zog seine Hand, die er mit dem Spieße ausgestreckt hatte, nicht zurück, bis man alle Bewohner von Ai vertilgt [Eig. verbannt. So auch Kap. 10,1] hatte.
And Joshua not he drew back hand his which he had stretched out with the javelin until that he had totally destroyed all [the] inhabitants of Ai.
27 Nur das Vieh und die Beute jener Stadt plünderte Israel für sich, nach dem Worte Jehovas, das er dem Josua geboten hatte.
Only the livestock and [the] booty of the city that they plundered for themselves Israel according to [the] word of Yahweh which he had commanded Joshua.
28 Und Josua verbrannte Ai und machte es zu einem ewigen Trümmerhaufen, bis auf diesen Tag.
And he burned Joshua Ai and he made it a mound of perpetuity a desolation until the day this.
29 Und den König von Ai ließ er an einen Baum [W. an das Holz] hängen bis zur Abendzeit; [Vergl. 5. Mose 21,22. 23] und beim Untergang der Sonne gebot Josua, und sie nahmen seinen Leichnam von dem Baume herab und warfen ihn an den Eingang des Stadttores und errichteten einen großen Steinhaufen über ihm, der bis auf diesen Tag da ist.
And [the] king of Ai he hanged on the tree until [the] time of the evening and just as went the sun he commanded Joshua and they took down corpse his from the tree and they threw it to [the] entrance of [the] gate of the city and they set up over him a heap of stones great until the day this.
30 Damals baute Josua dem Jehova, dem Gott Israels, einen Altar auf dem Berge Ebal,
Then he built Joshua an altar to Yahweh [the] God of Israel on [the] mountain of Ebal.
31 so wie Mose, der Knecht Jehovas, den Kindern Israel geboten hatte, wie im Buche des Gesetzes Moses geschrieben ist, einen Altar von ganzen Steinen, über die man kein Eisen geschwungen hatte. Und sie opferten darauf dem Jehova Brandopfer und schlachteten Friedensopfer.
Just as he had commanded Moses [the] servant of Yahweh [the] people of Israel according to [what] is written in [the] book of [the] law of Moses an altar of stones complete which not anyone has wielded on them iron and they offered up on it burnt offerings to Yahweh and they sacrificed peace offerings.
32 Und er schrieb daselbst auf die Steine eine Abschrift des Gesetzes Moses, welches er vor den Kindern Israel geschrieben hatte.
And he wrote there on the stones copy of [the] law of Moses which he had written before [the] people of Israel.
33 Und ganz Israel und seine Ältesten und Vorsteher und seine Richter standen an dieser und an jener Seite der Lade, den Priestern, den Leviten, gegenüber, welche die Lade des Bundes Jehovas trugen, der Fremdling wie der Eingeborene, die eine Hälfte gegen den Berg Gerisim hin und die andere Hälfte gegen den Berg Ebal hin, wie Mose, der Knecht Jehovas, im Anfang geboten hatte, das Volk Israel zu segnen. [O. geboten hatte, das Volk Israel im Anfang zu segnen]
And all Israel and elders its and officials - and judges its [were] standing from this - and from this - of the ark before the priests the Levites [the] bearers of - [the] ark of [the] covenant of Yahweh as the sojourner as the native half of it to [the] front of [the] mountain of Gerizim and half of it to [the] front of [the] mountain of Ebal just as he had commanded Moses [the] servant of Yahweh to bless the people Israel at the former [time].
34 Und danach las er alle Worte des Gesetzes, den Segen und den Fluch, nach allem, was im Buche des Gesetzes geschrieben ist.
And after thus he read aloud all [the] words of the law the blessing and the curse according to every [thing] written in [the] book of the law.
35 Es war kein Wort von allem, was Mose geboten hatte, das Josua nicht der ganzen Versammlung Israels vorlas, samt den Weibern und den Kindern und dem Fremdling, der in ihrer Mitte wandelte.
Not it was anything from all that he had commanded Moses which not he read aloud Joshua before all [the] assembly of Israel and the women and the little one[s] and the sojourner[s] who went in midst their.
