Jesaja 5
1 Wohlan, ich will singen von meinem Geliebten, ein Lied meines Lieben von seinem Weinberge: Mein Geliebter hatte einen Weinberg auf einem fetten Hügel. [Eig. Horne, d. h. einem freistehenden Hügel]
Now I will sing to [my] beloved a song of my beloved concerning my vineyard. [My] beloved had a vineyard on a high hill in a fertile place.
2 Und er grub ihn um und säuberte ihn von Steinen und bepflanzte ihn mit Edelreben; und er baute einen Turm in seine Mitte und hieb auch eine Kelter [Eig. einen Keltertrog] darin aus; und er erwartete, daß er Trauben brächte, aber er brachte Herlinge.
And I made a hedge round it, and dug a trench, and planted a choice vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and dug a place for the wine-vat in it: and I waited [for it] to bring forth grapes, and it brought forth thorns.
3 Nun denn, Bewohner von Jerusalem und Männer von Juda, richtet doch zwischen mir und meinem Weinberge!
And now, ye dwellers in Jerusalem, and [every] man of Juda, judge between me and my vineyard.
4 Was war noch an meinem Weinberge zu tun, das ich nicht an ihm getan hätte? Warum habe ich erwartet, daß er Trauben brächte, und er brachte Herlinge?
What shall I do any more to my vineyard, that I have not done to it? Whereas I expected [it] to bring forth grapes, but it has brought forth thorns.
5 Nun, so will ich euch denn kundmachen, was ich meinem Weinberge tun will: seinen Zaun wegnehmen, daß er abgeweidet werde, seine Mauer niederreißen, daß er zertreten werde.
And now I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away its hedge, and it shall be for a spoil; and I will pull down its walls, and it shall be [left] to be trodden down.
6 Und ich werde ihn zu Grunde richten; er soll nicht beschnitten noch behackt werden, und Dornen und Disteln sollen in ihm aufschießen; [Eig. und er soll in Dornen und Disteln aufgehen] und ich will den Wolken gebieten, daß sie keinen Regen auf ihn fallen lassen.
And I will forsake my vineyard; and it shall not be pruned, nor dug, and thorns shall come up upon it as on barren land; and I will command the clouds to rain no rain upon it.
7 Denn der Weinberg Jehovas der Heerscharen ist das Haus Israel, und die Männer von Juda sind die Pflanzung seines Ergötzens; und er wartete auf Recht, und siehe da: Blutvergießen, [O. gewaltsames Wegraffen] auf Gerechtigkeit, und siehe da: Wehgeschrei.
For the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Juda [his] beloved plant: I expected [it] to bring forth judgment, and it brought forth iniquity; and not righteousness, but a cry.
8 Wehe denen, die Haus an Haus reihen, Feld an Feld rücken, bis gar kein Raum mehr ist, und ihr allein seßhaft seid inmitten des Landes!
Woe [to them] that join house to house, and add field to field, that they may take away something of their neighbor's: will ye dwell alone upon the land?
9 Vor meinen [Eig. In meine] Ohren hat Jehova der Heerscharen gesprochen: Wenn nicht die vielen Häuser zur Wüste werden, die großen und schönen ohne Bewohner!
For these things have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts: for though many houses should be built, many and fair houses shall be desolate, and there shall be no inhabitants in them.
10 Denn zehn Juchart Weinberge werden ein Bath bringen, und ein Homer Samen wird ein Epha [ein Homer= 12 Epha] bringen. -
For where ten yoke of oxen plough [the land] shall yield one jar-full, and he that sows six homers shall produce three measures.
11 Wehe denen, die des Morgens früh sich aufmachen, um starkem Getränk nachzulaufen, bis spät am Abend bleiben, der Wein erhitzt sie!
Woe [to them] that rise up in the morning, and follow strong drink; who wait [at it till] evening: for the wine shall inflame them.
12 Und Laute und Harfe, Tamburin und Flöte und Wein sind bei ihrem Gelage; aber auf das Tun Jehovas schauen sie nicht, und das Werk seiner Hände sehen sie nicht.
For they drink wine with harp, and psaltery, and drums, and pipes: but they regard not the works of the Lord, and consider not the works of his hands.
13 Darum wird mein Volk weggeführt aus Mangel an Erkenntnis, und seine Edlen verhungern, [W. sind Männer des Hungers. Viell. ist zu l.: sind ausgezehrt durch Hunger] und seine Menge lechzt vor Durst.
Therefore my people have been taken captive, because they know not the Lord: and there has been a multitude of dead [bodies], because of hunger and of thirst for water.
14 Darum sperrt der Scheol weit auf seinen Schlund und reißt seinen Rachen auf ohne Maß; und hinab fährt seine [d. i. Jerusalems] Pracht und sein Getümmel und sein Getöse und wer darin frohlockt. (Sheol h7585)
Therefore hell has enlarged its desire and opened its mouth without ceasing: and her glorious and great, and her rich and her pestilent men shall go down [into it]. (Sheol h7585)
15 Und der Mensch wird gebeugt und der Mann erniedrigt, und die Augen der Hoffärtigen werden erniedrigt.
And the mean man shall be brought low, and the great man shall be disgraced, and the lofty eyes shall be brought low.
16 Und Jehova der Heerscharen wird im Gericht erhaben sein, und Gott, der Heilige, sich heilig erweisen in Gerechtigkeit. -
But the Lord of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and the holy God shall be glorified in righteousness.
17 Und Schafe werden dort weiden wie auf ihrer Trift, und Fremdlinge [Wahrsch. Wanderhirten] in den verwüsteten Fluren der Fetten sich nähren.
And they that were spoiled shall be fed as bulls, and lambs shall feed on the waste places of them that are taken away.
18 Wehe denen, welche die Ungerechtigkeit einherziehen mit Stricken der Falschheit, und die Sünde wie mit Wagenseilen!
Woe [to them] that draw sins to them as with a long rope, and iniquities as with a thong of the heifer's yoke:
19 die da sprechen: Er beeile, er beschleunige sein Werk, damit wir es sehen; und der Ratschluß des Heiligen Israels möge herannahen und kommen, damit wir ihn erfahren! -
who say, Let him speedily hasten what he will do, that we may see [it]: and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel come, that we may know [it].
20 Wehe denen, die das Böse gut heißen, und das Gute böse; welche Finsternis zu Licht machen, und Licht zu Finsternis; welche Bitteres zu Süßem machen, und Süßes zu Bitterem! -
Woe [to them] that call evil good, and good evil; who make darkness light, and light darkness; who make bitter sweet, and sweet bitter.
21 Wehe denen, die in ihren Augen weise und bei sich selbst verständig sind! -
Woe [to them] that are wise in their own conceit, and knowing in their own sight.
22 Wehe denen, die Helden sind, um Wein zu trinken, und tapfere Männer, um starkes Getränk zu mischen;
Woe to the strong [ones] of you that drink wine, and the mighty [ones] that mingle strong drink:
23 welche den Gesetzlosen um eines Geschenkes willen gerecht sprechen, und die Gerechtigkeit [O. das Recht] der Gerechten ihnen entziehen!
who justify the ungodly for rewards, and take away the righteousness of the righteous.
24 Darum, wie des Feuers Zunge die Stoppeln verzehrt, und dürres Gras in der Flamme zusammensinkt, so wird ihre Wurzel wie Moder werden, und ihre Blüte auffliegen wie Staub; denn sie haben das Gesetz Jehovas der Heerscharen verworfen und das Wort des Heiligen Israels verschmäht.
Therefore as stubble shall be burnt by a coal of fire, and shall be consumed by a violent flame, their root shall be as chaff, and their flower shall go up as dust: for they rejected the law of the Lord of hosts, and insulted the word of the Holy One of Israel.
25 Darum ist der Zorn Jehovas wider sein Volk entbrannt, und er hat seine Hand gegen dasselbe ausgestreckt und es geschlagen; und die Berge erbebten, und ihre Leichname wurden wie Kehricht inmitten der Straßen. -Bei dem allen wendet sich sein Zorn nicht ab, und noch ist seine Hand ausgestreckt.
Therefore the Lord of hosts was greatly angered against his people, and he reached forth his hand upon them, and smote them: and the mountains were troubled, and their carcasses were as dung in the midst of the way: yet for all this his anger has not been turned away, but his hand is yet raised.
26 Und er wird ein Panier erheben den fernen Nationen, und eine [Eig. sie; [die nachher beschriebene Nation]] wird er herbeizischen vom Ende der Erde; und siehe, eilends, schnell wird sie kommen.
Therefore shall he lift up a signal to the nations that are afar, and shall hiss for them from the end of the earth; and, behold, they are coming very quickly.
27 Bei ihr ist kein Müder und kein Strauchelnder, keiner schlummert noch schläft; auch ist nicht gelöst der Gürtel ihrer [Eig. seiner, d. h. jedes einzelnen von ihnen] Lenden, noch zerrissen der Riemen ihrer [Eig. seiner, d. h. jedes einzelnen von ihnen] Schuhe.
They shall not hunger nor be weary, neither shall they slumber nor sleep; neither shall they loose their girdles from their loins, neither shall their shoe-latchets be broken.
28 Ihre Pfeile sind geschärft, und alle ihre Bogen gespannt; die Hufe ihrer Rosse sind Kieseln gleich zu achten, und ihre Räder dem Wirbelwinde.
Whose arrows are sharp, and their bows bent; their horses' hoofs are counted as solid rock: their chariot-wheels are as a storm.
29 Ihr Gebrüll ist wie das einer Löwin, sie brüllt wie die jungen Löwen; und sie knurrt und packt die Beute und bringt sie in Sicherheit, und kein Erretter ist da.
They rage as lions, and draw nigh as a lion's whelps: and he shall seize, and roar as a wild beast, and he shall cast [them] forth, and there shall be none to deliver them.
30 Und sie knurrt über ihr an jenem Tage gleich dem Rauschen des Meeres. Und man blickt zur Erde, und siehe, Finsternis, Drangsal; und das Licht ist verfinstert durch ihr Gewölk. [der Erde]
And he shall roar on account of them in that day, as the sound of the swelling sea; and they shall look to the land, and, behold, [there shall be] thick darkness in their perplexity.
