Jesaja 14
1 Denn Jehova wird sich Jakobs erbarmen und Israel noch erwählen, und wird sie in ihr Land einsetzen. Und der Fremdling wird sich ihnen anschließen, und sie werden sich dem Hause Jakob zugesellen.
And the Lord will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and they shall rest on their land: and the stranger shall be added to them, yea, shall be added to the house of Jacob.
2 Und die Völker werden sie nehmen und sie an ihren Ort bringen; und das Haus Israel wird sich dieselben zu Knechten und zu Mägden zueignen im Lande Jehovas. Und sie werden gefangen wegführen, die sie gefangen wegführten, und werden herrschen über ihre Bedrücker.
And the Gentiles shall take them, and bring them into their place: and they shall inherit them, and they shall be multiplied upon the land for servants and handmaidens: and they that took them captives shall become captives [to them]; and they that had lordship over them shall be under [their] rule.
3 Und es wird geschehen an dem Tage, an welchem Jehova dir Ruhe schafft von deiner Mühsal und von deiner Unruhe und von dem harten Dienst, welchen man dir auferlegt hat,
And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] the Lord shall give thee rest from thy sorrow and vexation, [and from] thy hard servitude wherein thou didst serve them.
4 da wirst du diesen Spruch anheben über den König von Babel und sprechen: Wie hat aufgehört der Bedrücker, aufgehört die Erpressung! [And.: der Ort des Verschmachtens; der hebr. Ausdruck kommt nur hier vor]
And thou shalt take up this lamentation against the king of Babylon, How has the extortioner ceased, and the taskmaster ceased!
5 Zerbrochen hat Jehova den Stab der Gesetzlosen, den Herrscherstab,
The Lord has broken the yoke of sinners, the yoke of princes.
6 welcher Völker schlug im Grimme mit Schlägen ohne Unterlaß, Nationen unterjochte im Zorn mit Verfolgung ohne Einhalt.
Having smitten a nation in wrath, with an incurable plague, smiting a nation with a wrathful plague, which spared [them] not, he rested in quiet.
7 Es ruht, es rastet die ganze Erde; man bricht in Jubel aus.
All the earth cries aloud with joy:
8 Auch die Cypressen freuen sich über dich, die Cedern des Libanon: "Seit du daliegst, kommt niemand mehr herauf, uns abzuhauen." [Eig. kommt der Holzhauer nicht mehr gegen uns herauf]
the trees also of Libanus rejoice against thee, and the cedar of Libanus, [saying], From the time that thou hast been laid low, no one has come up to cut us down.
9 Der Scheol drunten ist in Bewegung um deinetwillen, deiner Ankunft entgegen; er stört deinetwegen die Schatten [Eig. die Hingestreckten, Schlaffen; daher die Verstorbenen] auf, alle Mächtigen [Eig. Leitböcke] der Erde, er läßt von ihren Thronen aufstehen alle Könige der Nationen. (Sheol h7585)
Hell from beneath is provoked to meet thee: all the great ones that have ruled over the earth have risen up together against thee, they that have raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations. (Sheol h7585)
10 Sie alle heben an und sagen zu dir: "Auch du bist kraftlos geworden wie wir, bist uns gleich geworden!"
All shall answer and say to thee, Thou also hast been taken, even as we; and thou art numbered amongst us.
11 In den Scheol hinabgestürzt ist deine Pracht, das Rauschen deiner Harfen. Maden sind unter dir gebettet, und Würmer sind deine Decke. (Sheol h7585)
Thy glory has come down to Hades, and thy great mirth: under thee they shall spread corruption, and the worm shall be thy covering. (Sheol h7585)
12 Wie bist du vom Himmel gefallen, du Glanzstern, Sohn der Morgenröte! zur Erde gefällt, Überwältiger der Nationen!
How has Lucifer, that rose in the morning, fallen from heaven! He that sent [orders] to all the nations is crushed to the earth.
13 Und du, du sprachst in deinem Herzen: "Zum Himmel will ich hinaufsteigen, hoch über die Sterne Gottes [El] meinen Thron erheben, und mich niedersetzen auf den Versammlungsberg im äußersten Norden. [Dort dachten sich die Assyrer den Sitz ihrer Götterversammlung]
But thou saidst in thine heart, I will go up to heaven, I will set my throne above the stars of heaven: I will sit on a lofty mount, on the lofty mountains toward the north:
14 Ich will hinauffahren auf Wolkenhöhen, mich gleichmachen dem Höchsten." -
I will go up above the clouds: I will be like the Most High.
But now thou shalt go down to hell, even to the foundations of the earth. (Sheol h7585)
16 Die dich sehen, betrachten dich, schauen dich an: "Ist das der Mann, der die Erde beben machte, Königreiche erschütterte;
They that see thee shall wonder at thee, and say, This is the man that troubled the earth, that made kings to shake;
17 der den Erdkreis der Wüste gleich machte und dessen Städte niederriß, dessen Gefangene nicht in die Heimat entließ?"
that made the whole world desolate, and destroyed its cities; he loosed not those who were in captivity.
18 Alle Könige der Nationen insgesamt liegen mit Ehren, ein jeder in seinem Hause;
All the kings of the nations lie in honour, [every] man in his house.
19 du aber bist hingeworfen fern von deiner Grabstätte, wie ein verabscheuter Schößling, bedeckt mit Erschlagenen, vom Schwerte Durchbohrten, die zu den Steinen der Grube hinabgefahren sind, [d. h. die in eine Grube geworfen und mit Steinen bedeckt wurden] wie ein zertretenes Aas.
But thou shalt be cast forth on the mountains, as a loathed carcase, with many dead who have been pierced with swords, going down to the grave.
20 Nicht wirst du mit ihnen vereint werden im Begräbnis; denn du hast dein Land zu Grunde gerichtet, dein Volk hingemordet. Der Same der Übeltäter wird nicht genannt werden in Ewigkeit.
As a garment defiled with blood shall not be pure, so neither shalt thou be pure; because thou hast destroyed my land, and hast slain my people: thou shalt not endure for ever, —[thou] an evil seed.
21 Bereitet seinen Söhnen die Schlachtung, um der Missetat ihrer Väter willen! Nicht sollen sie aufstehen und die Erde in Besitz nehmen, und mit Städten füllen die Fläche des Erdkreises.
Prepare thy children to be slain for the sins of their father; that they arise not, and inherit the earth, nor fill the earth with wars.
22 Und ich werde wider sie aufstehen, spricht Jehova der Heerscharen, und werde von Babel ausrotten Namen und Überrest, und Sohn und Nachkommen, [Eig. Sproß und Schoß] spricht Jehova.
And I will rise up against them, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will destroy their name, and remnant, and seed: thus saith the Lord.
23 Und ich werde es zum Besitztum der Igel machen und zu Wassersümpfen; und ich werde es ausfegen mit dem Besen der Vertilgung, spricht Jehova der Heerscharen.
And I will make the region of Babylon desert, so that hedgehogs shall dwell [there], and it shall come to nothing: and I will make it a pit of clay for destruction.
24 Jehova der Heerscharen hat geschworen und gesprochen: Wahrlich! Wie ich es vorbedacht, also geschieht es; und wie ich es beschlossen habe, also wird es zustande kommen:
Thus saith the Lord of hosts, As I have said, so it shall be: and as I have purposed, so [the matter] shall remain:
25 daß ich Assyrien in meinem Lande zerschmettern und es auf meinen Bergen zertreten werde. Und so wird sein Joch von ihnen weichen, und seine Last wird weichen von ihrer Schulter.
[even] to destroy the Assyrians upon my land, and upon my mountains: and they shall be for trampling; and their yoke shall be taken away from them, and their glory shall be taken away from their shoulders.
26 Das ist der Ratschluß, der beschlossen ist über die ganze Erde; und das ist die Hand, die ausgestreckt ist über alle Nationen.
This is the purpose which the Lord has purposed upon the whole earth: and this the hand that is uplifted against all the nations.
27 Denn Jehova der Heerscharen hat es beschlossen, und wer wird es vereiteln? und seine ausgestreckte Hand-wer [Eig. wer denn] könnte sie abwenden?
For what the Holy God has purposed, who shall frustrate? and who shall turn back his uplifted hand?
28 Im Todesjahre des Königs Ahas geschah dieser Ausspruch:
In the year in which king Achaz died this word came.
29 Freue dich nicht gänzlich Philistäa, daß zerbrochen ist der Stock, der dich schlug! Denn aus der Wurzel der Schlange wird ein Basilisk hervorkommen, und seine Frucht wird sein eine fliegende, feurige Schlange.
Rejoice not, all ye Philistines, because the yoke of him that smote you is broken: for out of the seed of the serpent shall come forth the young asps, and their young shall come forth flying serpents,
30 Und die Erstgeborenen der Armen [d. h. die Ärmsten unter den Armen] werden weiden, und die Dürftigen sich in Sicherheit lagern; aber deine Wurzel werde ich durch Hunger töten, und deinen Überrest wird er umbringen.
And the poor shall be fed by him, and poor men shall rest in peace: but he shall destroy thy seed with hunger, and shall destroy thy remnant.
31 Heule, Tor! schreie Stadt! gänzlich hinschmelzen sollst du, Philistäa; denn von Norden her kommt Rauch und kein Vereinzelter ist unter seinen Scharen.
Howl, ye gates of cities; let the cities be troubled and cry, [even] all the Philistines: for smoke is coming from the north, and there is no [possibility] of living.
32 Und was antwortet man den Boten [O. Und was für Antwort bringen die Boten] der Nationen? Daß Jehova Zion gegründet hat, und daß die Elenden seines Volkes darin Zuflucht finden.
And what shall the kings of the nations answer? That the Lord has founded Sion, and by him the poor of the people shall be saved.
