2 Samuel 11
1 Und [1. Chron. 20,1] es geschah bei der Rückkehr des Jahres, zur Zeit, wann die Könige ausziehen, da sandte David Joab und seine Knechte mit ihm und ganz Israel; und sie richteten die Kinder Ammon zu Grunde und belagerten Rabba. David aber blieb in Jerusalem.
And it was to [the] return of the year to [the] time of - [the] going out of (messengers *LBH(a+C)*) and he sent David Joab and servants his with him and all Israel and they destroyed [the] people of Ammon and they laid siege on Rabbah and David [was] remaining in Jerusalem.
2 Und es geschah zur Abendzeit, als David von seinem Lager aufstand und auf dem Dache des Hauses des Königs wandelte, daß er von dem Dache herab ein Weib sich baden sah; und das Weib war sehr schön von Ansehen.
And it was - to [the] time of the evening and he arose David from on bed his and he walked about on [the] roof of [the] house of the king and he saw a woman bathing from on the roof and the woman [was] good of appearance very.
3 Und David sandte hin und erkundigte sich nach dem Weibe; und man sprach: Ist das nicht Bathseba, die Tochter Eliams, das Weib Urijas, des Hethiters?
And he sent David and he enquired of the woman and he said ¿ not [is] this Bath-sheba [the] daughter of Eliam [the] wife of Uriah the Hittite.
4 Und David sandte Boten hin und ließ sie holen; und sie kam zu ihm, und er lag bei ihr [sie hatte sich aber gereinigt von ihrer Unreinigkeit]; und sie kehrte in ihr Haus zurück.
And he sent David messengers and he took her and she came to him and he lay with her and she [was] purifying herself from uncleanness her and she returned to house her.
5 Und das Weib wurde schwanger; und sie sandte hin und berichtete es David und sprach: Ich bin schwanger.
And she conceived the woman and she sent and she told to David and she said [am] pregnant I.
6 Da entbot David dem Joab: Sende mir Urija, den Hethiter. Und Joab sandte Urija zu David.
And he sent David to Joab send to me Uriah the Hittite and he sent Joab Uriah to David.
7 Und Urija kam zu ihm; und David fragte nach dem Wohlergehen Joabs und nach dem Wohlergehen des Volkes und nach dem Stande [Eig. Wohlergehen] des Streites.
And he came Uriah to him and he asked David to [the] welfare of Joab and to [the] welfare of the people and to [the] welfare of the battle.
8 Und David sprach zu Urija: Gehe in dein Haus hinab und wasche deine Füße. Und als Urija aus dem Hause des Königs ging, kam ein Geschenk [O. ein Ehrengericht] des Königs hinter ihm her.
And he said David to Uriah go down to house your and wash feet your and he went out Uriah from [the] house of the king and it went out after him [the] gift of the king.
9 Und Urija legte sich am Eingang des Hauses des Königs nieder bei allen Knechten seines Herrn, und ging nicht in sein Haus hinab.
And he lay down Uriah [the] entrance of [the] house of the king with all [the] servants of lord his and not he went down to house his.
10 Und man berichtete es David und sprach: Urija ist nicht in sein Haus hinabgegangen. Da sprach David zu Urija: Bist du nicht von der Reise gekommen? Warum bist du nicht in dein Haus hinabgegangen?
And people told to David saying not he has gone down Uriah to house his and he said David to Uriah ¿ not from a journey [are] you coming why? not have you gone down to house your.
11 Und Urija sprach zu David: Die Lade und Israel und Juda weilen in Hütten, und mein Herr Joab und die Knechte meines Herrn lagern auf freiem Felde, und ich sollte in mein Haus gehen, um zu essen und zu trinken und bei meinem Weibe zu liegen? So wahr du lebst und deine Seele lebt, wenn ich dieses tue!
And he said Uriah to David the ark and Israel and Judah [are] dwelling in booths and lord my Joab and [the] servants of lord my on [the] face of the open country [are] encamping and I will I go? to house my to eat and to drink and to lie with wife my [by] [the] life of you and [by] [the] life of self your if I will do the thing this.
12 Da sprach David zu Urija: Bleibe auch heute noch hier, und morgen werde ich dich entlassen. So blieb Urija an jenem Tage und am folgenden in Jerusalem.
And he said David to Uriah remain in this [place] also this day and tomorrow I will let go you and he remained Uriah in Jerusalem on the day that and from [the] next day.
13 Und David lud ihn, und er aß und trank vor ihm, und er machte ihn trunken. Und am Abend ging er hinaus, um sich auf sein Lager niederzulegen bei den Knechten seines Herrn; aber in sein Haus ging er nicht hinab.
And he summoned him David and he ate before him and he drank and he made drunk him and he went out in the evening to lie down on bed his with [the] servants of lord his and to house his not he went down.
14 Und es geschah am Morgen, da schrieb David einen Brief an Joab und sandte ihn durch Urija.
And it was in the morning and he wrote David a letter to Joab and he sent [it] by [the] hand of Uriah.
15 Und er schrieb in dem Briefe also: Stellet Urija voran, wo der Streit am stärksten ist, und ziehet euch hinter ihm zurück, daß er erschlagen werde und sterbe.
And he wrote in the letter saying set Uriah to [the] front of [the] face of the battle severe and you will turn back from after him and he will be struck down and he will die.
16 Und es geschah, als Joab die Stadt einschloß, da stellte er Urija an den Ort, von dem er wußte, daß tapfere Männer daselbst waren.
And it was when watched Joab against the city and he put Uriah to the place where he knew that men of strength [were] there.
17 Und die Männer der Stadt zogen heraus und stritten wider Joab, und es fielen etliche von dem Volke, von den Knechten Davids; und auch Urija, der Hethiter, starb.
And they went out [the] men of the city and they fought with Joab and it fell some of the people some of [the] servants of David and he died also Uriah the Hittite.
18 Da sandte Joab hin und berichtete David alle Begebenheiten des Streites.
And he sent Joab and he told to David all [the] matters of the battle.
19 Und er befahl dem Boten und sprach: Wenn du geendigt hast, alle Begebenheiten des Streites dem König zu melden,
And he commanded the messenger saying when finishing you all [the] matters of the battle to speak to the king.
20 so geschehe es, wenn der Grimm des Königs aufsteigt, und er zu dir spricht: Warum habt ihr euch der Stadt genähert, um zu streiten? wußtet ihr nicht, daß sie von der Mauer herab schießen würden?
And it will be if it will rise [the] anger of the king and he will say to you why? did you draw near to the city to fight ¿ not did you know this: they will shoot from on the wall.
21 Wer hat Abimelech, den Sohn Jerubbeseths, [Anderer Name für Jerub-Baal [vergl. Richter 6,32]; wie Isboseth [Kap. 2,8] für Esch-Baal] erschlagen? Warf nicht ein Weib den oberen Stein einer Handmühle von der Mauer auf ihn herab, daß er starb zu Tebez? [S. Richter 9,50-54] Warum habt ihr euch der Mauer genähert? -so sollst du sagen: Auch dein Knecht Urija, der Hethiter, ist tot.
Who? did he strike down Abimelech [the] son of Jerub-Besheth ¿ not a woman did she throw on him a mill-stone an upper mill-stone from on the wall and he died in Thebez why? did you draw near to the wall and you will say also servant your Uriah the Hittite he has died.
22 Und der Bote ging hin; und er kam und berichtete David alles, wozu Joab ihn gesandt hatte.
And he went the messenger and he came and he told to David all that he had sent him Joab.
23 Und der Bote sprach zu David: Da die Männer die Oberhand über uns hatten und gegen uns aufs Feld herauszogen, so drangen wir auf sie ein bis zum Eingang des Tores.
And he said the messenger to David for they prevailed over us the men and they came out against us the open country and we were on them to [the] entrance of the gate.
24 Da schossen die Schützen von der Mauer herab auf deine Knechte, und es starben etliche von den Knechten des Königs; und auch dein Knecht Urija, der Hethiter, ist tot.
(And they shot arrows *Q(K)*) (the archers *Q(k)*) to servants your from on the wall and they have died some of [the] servants of the king and also servant your Uriah the Hittite he has died.
25 Da sprach David zu dem Boten: So sollst du zu Joab sagen: Laß diese Sache nicht übel sein in deinen Augen, denn das Schwert frißt bald so, bald so; [O. bald diesen, bald jenen] verstärke deinen Streit gegen die Stadt und zerstöre sie! So ermutige ihn.
And he said David to the messenger thus you will say to Joab may not it be displeasing in view your the thing this that like this and like this it devours the sword strengthen battle your against the city and tear down it and encourage him.
26 Und als das Weib Urijas hörte, daß Urija, ihr Mann, tot war, klagte sie um ihren Gatten.
And she heard [the] wife of Uriah that he had died Uriah husband her and she mourned on husband her.
27 Als aber die Trauer vorüber war, sandte David hin und nahm sie in sein Haus; und sie wurde sein Weib und gebar ihm einen Sohn. Aber die Sache, die David getan hatte, war übel in den Augen Jehovas.
And it passed the mourning and he sent David and he gathered her to house his and she became of him a wife and she bore to him a son and it was displeasing the thing which he had done David in [the] eyes of Yahweh.
