Luc 22
1 La fête des pains sans levain, appelée la Pâque, approchait.
Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover.
2 Et les principaux sacrificateurs et les scribes cherchaient comment ils pourraient faire mourir Jésus; car ils craignaient le peuple.
And the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might put him to death; for they feared the people.
3 Or, Satan entra dans Judas, nommé Iscariote, qui était du nombre des Douze.
And Satan entered into Judas who was called Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.
4 Judas alla trouver les principaux sacrificateurs et les chefs des gardes, pour s'entendre avec eux sur les moyens de le leur livrer.
And he went away, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might deliver him unto them.
5 Ceux-ci, remplis de joie, lui promirent de lui donner de l'argent.
And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.
6 Il se mit d'accord avec eux, et il cherchait une occasion favorable pour livrer Jésus à l'insu de la foule.
And he consented, and sought opportunity to deliver him unto them in the absence of the multitude.
7 Le jour des pains sans levain, où l'on devait immoler la Pâque, étant arrivé,
And the day of unleavened bread came, on which the passover must be sacrificed.
8 Jésus envoya Pierre et Jean, et il leur dit: Allez nous préparer la Pâque, afin que nous la mangions.
And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and make ready for us the passover, that we may eat.
9 Ils lui dirent: Où veux-tu que nous la préparions?
And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we make ready?
10 Il leur répondit: Lorsque vous entrerez dans la ville, vous rencontrerez un homme portant une cruche d'eau; suivez-le dans la maison où il entrera,
And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house whereinto he goeth.
11 et dites au maître de la maison: Le Maître te fait dire: Où se trouve la salle dans laquelle je dois manger la Pâque avec mes disciples?
And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guest-chamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
12 Et il vous montrera une grande chambre haute, toute meublée; préparez-y ce qu'il faut.
And he will shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.
13 Ils s'en allèrent et trouvèrent les choses comme Jésus le leur avait dit; et ils préparèrent la Pâque.
And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
14 Quand l'heure fut venue, il se mit à table, et les apôtres avec lui.
And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the apostles with him.
15 Puis il leur dit: J'ai fort désiré de manger cette Pâque avec vous, avant que je souffre.
And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
16 Car, je vous le déclare, je ne la mangerai plus, jusqu'à ce qu'elle soit accomplie dans le royaume de Dieu.
for I say unto you, I will not eat it, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
17 Et, ayant pris une coupe et rendu grâces, il dit: Prenez ceci, et partagez-le entre vous.
And he received a cup, and when he had given thanks, he said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:
18 Car, je vous le déclare, désormais je ne boirai plus du fruit de la vigne, jusqu'à ce que le royaume de Dieu soit venu.
for I say unto you, I will not drink from henceforth of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
19 Puis il prit du pain, et, après avoir rendu grâces, il le rompit et le leur donna, en disant: Ceci est mon corps, qui est donné pour vous; faites ceci en mémoire de moi.
And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and gave to them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
20 De même, après avoir soupé, il leur donna la coupe, en disant: Cette coupe est la nouvelle alliance en mon sang, qui est répandu pour vous.
And the cup in like manner after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood, [even] that which is poured out for you.
21 Au reste, la main de celui qui me trahit est près de moi: il est assis à cette table!
But behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.
22 En ce qui concerne le Fils de l'homme, il s'en va, conformément à ce qui a été arrêté; mais malheur à cet homme, par qui il est trahi!
For the Son of man indeed goeth, as it hath been determined: but woe unto that man through whom he is betrayed!
23 Alors ils se mirent à se demander les uns aux autres, quel était donc celui d'entre eux qui ferait cela.
And they began to question among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.
24 Il s'éleva aussi parmi eux une contestation, pour savoir lequel d'entre eux devait être regardé comme le plus grand.
And there arose also a contention among them, which of them is accounted to be greatest.
25 Mais Jésus leur dit: Les rois des nations leur commandent en maîtres, et ceux qui exercent l'autorité sur elles sont appelés bienfaiteurs.
And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles have lordship over them; and they that have authority over them are called Benefactors.
26 Pour vous, ne faites pas ainsi; mais, que le plus grand parmi vous soit comme le plus petit, et celui qui gouverne, comme celui qui sert.
But ye [shall] not [be] so: but he that is the greater among you, let him become as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
27 Car lequel est le plus grand, celui qui est à table, ou celui qui sert? N'est-ce pas celui qui est à table? Moi pourtant, je suis au milieu de vous comme celui qui sert.
For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am in the midst of you as he that serveth.
28 Quant à vous, vous avez persévéré avec moi dans mes épreuves,
But ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations;
29 et je dispose du royaume en votre faveur, comme mon Père en a disposé pour moi,
and I appoint unto you a kingdom, even as my Father appointed unto me,
30 afin que vous mangiez et que vous buviez à ma table dans mon royaume, et que vous soyez assis sur des trônes, jugeant les douze tribus d'Israël.
that ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom; and ye shall sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
31 Simon, Simon, voici que Satan a demandé à vous passer au crible comme le blé.
Simon, Simon, behold, Satan asked to have you, that he might sift you as wheat:
32 Mais j'ai prié pour toi, afin que ta foi ne défaille point. Toi donc, quand tu seras converti, affermis tes frères.
but I made supplication for thee, that thy faith fail not: and do thou, when once thou hast turned again, stablish thy brethren.
33 Pierre lui dit: Seigneur, je suis prêt à aller avec toi, et en prison et à la mort!
And he said unto him, Lord, with thee I am ready to go both to prison and to death.
34 Jésus répondit: Pierre, je te le déclare, le coq ne chantera pas aujourd'hui, que tu n'aies par trois fois nié de me connaître.
And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, until thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.
35 Puis il ajouta: Lorsque je vous ai envoyés sans bourse, sans sac et sans chaussures, avez-vous manqué de quelque chose? Ils répondirent: De rien.
And he said unto them, When I sent you forth without purse, and wallet, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.
36 Mais maintenant, leur dit-il, que celui qui a une bourse, la prenne, et de même, celui qui a un sac; et que celui qui n'a point d'épée, vende son manteau et en achète une.
And he said unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise a wallet: and he that hath none, let him sell his cloke, and buy a sword.
37 Car, je vous le déclare, il faut que s'accomplisse en ma personne ce qui est écrit: «Il a été mis au rang des malfaiteurs.» En effet, ce qui me concerne touche à sa fin.
For I say unto you, that this which is written must be fulfilled in me, And he was reckoned with transgressors: for that which concerneth me hath fulfillment.
38 Ils dirent: Seigneur, voici deux épées. Il leur répondit: Cela suffit.
And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.
39 Puis, Jésus sortit et alla, selon sa coutume, à la montagne des Oliviers; et les disciples le suivirent.
And he came out, and went, as his custom was, unto the mount of Olives; and the disciples also followed him.
40 Quand il fut arrivé en ce lieu, il leur dit: Priez, afin que vous ne tombiez pas dans la tentation.
And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
41 Alors il s'éloigna d'eux d'un jet de pierre environ, et, s'étant mis à genoux, il priait,
And he was parted from them about a stone’s cast; and he kneeled down and prayed,
42 disant: Père, si tu voulais éloigner de moi cette coupe! Toutefois, que ta volonté soit faite et non la mienne!
saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
43 Et un ange lui apparut du ciel, qui le fortifiait.
And there appeared unto him an angel from heaven, strengthening him.
44 Étant en agonie, il priait plus instamment, et sa sueur devint comme de grosses gouttes de sang qui tombaient à terre.
And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat became as it were great drops of blood falling down upon the ground.
45 Après avoir prié, il se leva et revint vers les disciples, qu'il trouva endormis de tristesse.
And when he rose up from his prayer, he came unto the disciples, and found them sleeping for sorrow,
46 Et il leur dit: Pourquoi dormez-vous? Levez-vous, et priez, afin que vous ne tombiez pas dans la tentation.
and said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, that ye enter not into temptation.
47 Comme il parlait encore, une troupe parut. Celui qu'on nommait Judas, l'un des Douze, marchait devant elle, et il s'approcha de Jésus pour lui donner un baiser.
While he yet spake, behold, a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them; and he drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.
48 Jésus lui dit: Judas, tu trahis le Fils de l'homme par un baiser!
But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?
49 Alors ceux qui étaient avec lui, voyant ce qui allait arriver, lui dirent: Seigneur, frapperons-nous de l'épée?
And when they that were about him saw what would follow, they said, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?
50 Et l'un d'eux frappa le serviteur du souverain sacrificateur, et il lui emporta l'oreille droite.
And a certain one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and struck off his right ear.
51 Mais Jésus, prenant la parole, dit: Arrêtez un moment! Et, ayant touché l'oreille de cet homme, il le guérit.
But Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.
52 Puis Jésus dit aux principaux sacrificateurs, aux chefs des gardes du temple et aux anciens, qui étaient venus vers lui: Vous êtes sortis avec des épées et des bâtons, comme après un brigand.
And Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and elders, which were come against him, Are ye come out, as against a robber, with swords and staves?
53 J'étais tous les jours dans le temple avec vous, et vous n'avez pas mis la main sur moi. Mais c'est ici votre heure et la puissance des ténèbres.
When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched not forth your hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.
54 Alors, ils le saisirent et l'emmenèrent; et ils le firent entrer dans la maison du souverain sacrificateur, Pierre suivait de loin.
And they seized him, and led him [away], and brought him into the high priest’s house. But Peter followed afar off.
55 Ils allumèrent du feu au milieu de la cour et s'assirent ensemble; et Pierre s'assit parmi eux.
And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the court, and had sat down together, Peter sat in the midst of them.
56 Une servante, le voyant assis près du feu et le regardant attentivement, dit: Cet homme était aussi avec lui.
And a certain maid seeing him as he sat in the light [of the fire], and looking stedfastly upon him, said, This man also was with him.
57 Mais il renia Jésus, en disant: Femme, je ne le connais point!
But he denied, saying, Woman, I know him not.
58 Un peu après, un autre, l'ayant vu, lui dit: Toi aussi, tu es de ces gens-là! Pierre répondit à cet homme: Je n'en suis pas!
And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou also art [one] of them. But Peter said, Man, I am not.
59 Environ une heure plus tard, un autre assurait la même chose et disait: Certainement, cet homme était aussi avec lui; car il est Galiléen.
And after the space of about one hour another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this man also was with him: for he is a Galilaean.
60 Mais Pierre reprit: homme, je ne sais ce que tu veux dire! Au même instant, comme il parlait encore, le coq chanta;
But Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew.
61 et le Seigneur, s'étant retourné, regarda Pierre. Pierre se ressouvint de la parole que le Seigneur lui avait dite: Avant que le coq chante aujourd'hui, tu me renieras trois fois.
And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how that he said unto him, Before the cock crow this day, thou shalt deny me thrice.
62 Et étant sorti, il pleura amèrement.
And he went out, and wept bitterly.
63 Or, ceux qui gardaient Jésus se moquaient de lui et le frappaient;
And the men that held [Jesus] mocked him, and beat him.
64 et, lui ayant couvert le visage, ils lui disaient: Prophétise, devine qui t'a frappé!
And they blindfolded him, and asked him, saying, Prophesy: who is he that struck thee?
65 Et ils proféraient beaucoup d'autres injures contre lui.
And many other things spake they against him, reviling him.
66 Quand le jour fut venu, les anciens du peuple, les principaux sacrificateurs et les scribes se réunirent, et ils le firent venir dans leur Sanhédrin.
And as soon as it was day, the assembly of the elders of the people was gathered together, both chief priests and scribes; and they led him away into their council, saying,
67 Ils lui dirent: Si tu es le Christ, déclare-le-nous. Il leur répondit: Si je le disais, vous ne le croiriez pas;
If thou art the Christ, tell us. But he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:
68 et si je vous interrogeais, vous ne me répondriez pas.
and if I ask [you], ye will not answer.
69 Mais désormais le Fils de l'homme sera assis à la droite du Dieu tout-puissant.
But from henceforth shall the Son of man be seated at the right hand of the power of God.
70 Ils dirent tous: Tu es donc le Fils de Dieu? Il leur répondit: Vous dites vous-mêmes que je le suis.
And they all said, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am.
71 Alors ils s'écrièrent: Qu'avons-nous encore besoin de témoignage? Nous venons nous-mêmes de l'entendre de sa propre bouche!
And they said, What further need have we of witness? for we ourselves have heard from his own mouth.
