Luc 17
1 Jésus dit aussi à ses disciples: Il est impossible qu'il n'arrive pas des scandales; mais malheur à celui par qui ils arrivent!
And he said to his disciples: It is impossible that scandals should not come: but woe to him through whom they come.
2 Il vaudrait mieux pour lui qu'on lui mît au cou une meule de moulin et qu'on le jetât dans la mer, que d'être en scandale à un seul de ces petits.
It were better for him, that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should scandalize one of these little ones.
3 Prenez garde à vous-mêmes. Si ton frère a péché, reprends-le; et s'il se repent, pardonne-lui.
Take heed to yourselves. If thy brother sin against thee, reprove him: and if he do penance, forgive him.
4 S'il a péché contre toi sept fois dans un jour, et que sept fois il revienne à toi et te dise: Je me repens. — tu lui pardonneras.
And if he sin against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day be converted unto thee, saying, I repent; forgive him.
5 Les apôtres dirent au Seigneur: Augmente-nous la foi!
And the apostles said to the Lord: Increase our faith.
6 Le Seigneur répondit: Si vous aviez de la foi, gros comme un grain de moutarde, vous diriez à ce mûrier: Déracine-toi, et va te planter dans la mer; et il vous obéirait.
And the Lord said: If you had faith like to a grain of mustard seed, you might say to this mulberry tree, Be thou rooted up, and be thou transplanted into the sea: and it would obey you.
7 Qui devons, ayant un serviteur employé à labourer ou à faire paître les troupeaux, lui dira, à son retour des champs: Viens tout de suite te mettre à table?
But which of you having a servant ploughing, or feeding cattle, will say to him, when he is come from the field: Immediately go, sit down to meat:
8 Ne lui dira-t-il pas au contraire: Prépare-moi à souper, ceins-toi pour me servir, jusqu'à ce que j'aie mangé et bu; et, après cela, tu mangeras et tu boiras.
And will not rather say to him: Make ready my supper, and gird thyself, and serve me, whilst I eat and drink, and afterwards thou shalt eat and drink?
9 Saura-t-il gré à ce serviteur d'avoir fait ce qui lui était commandé?
Doth he thank that servant, for doing the things which he commanded him?
10 Vous aussi de même, quand vous aurez fait tout ce qui vous est commandé, dites: Nous sommes des serviteurs inutiles. Ce que nous avons fait, nous devions le faire.
I think not. So you also, when you shall have done all these things that are commanded you, say: We are unprofitable servants; we have done that which we ought to do.
11 Comme il allait à Jérusalem, il passait sur les confins de la Samarie et de la Galilée.
And it came to pass, as he was going to Jerusalem, he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
12 Au moment où il entrait dans un village, dix lépreux vinrent à sa rencontre, et, se tenant à distance,
And as he entered into a certain town, there met him ten men that were lepers, who stood afar off;
13 ils élevèrent la voix et dirent; Jésus, Maître, aie pitié de nous!
And lifted up their voice, saying: Jesus, master, have mercy on us.
14 Les ayant vus, il leur dit: Allez, montrez-vous aux sacrificateurs. Et il arriva qu'en y allant, ils furent rendus nets.
Whom when he saw, he said: Go, shew yourselves to the priests. And it came to pass, as they went, they were made clean.
15 L'un d'entre eux, voyant qu'il était guéri, revint sur ses pas, glorifiant Dieu à haute voix.
And one of them, when he saw that he was made clean, went back, with a loud voice glorifying God.
16 Et il se jeta aux pieds de Jésus, le visage contre terre, en lui rendant grâces. Or, c'était un Samaritain.
And he fell on his face before his feet, giving thanks: and this was a Samaritan.
17 Alors Jésus prit la parole et dit: Les dix n'ont-ils pas été guéris? Et les neuf autres, où sont-ils?
And Jesus answering, said, Were not ten made clean? and where are the nine?
18 Il ne s'est trouvé que cet étranger qui soit revenu pour donner gloire à Dieu!
There is no one found to return and give glory to God, but this stranger.
19 Et il lui dit: Lève-toi, va, ta foi t'a sauvé.
And he said to him: Arise, go thy way; for thy faith hath made thee whole.
20 Les pharisiens lui ayant demandé quand viendrait le royaume de Dieu, Jésus leur répondit: Le royaume de Dieu ne vient pas de manière à frapper les regards,
And being asked by the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come? he answered them, and said: The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
21 et l'on ne dira pas: Il est ici! ou bien: Il est là! Car voici que le royaume de Dieu est au dedans de vous!
Neither shall they say: Behold here, or behold there. For lo, the kingdom of God is within you.
22 Il dit aussi aux disciples: Le temps viendra où vous désirerez voir un seul des jours du Fils de l'homme, et vous ne le verrez point.
And he said to his disciples: The days will come, when you shall desire to see one day of the Son of man; and you shall not see it.
23 Des gens vous diront: Le voici! ou: Le voilà! N'y allez pas; ne les suivez pas!
And they will say to you: See here, and see there. Go ye not after, nor follow them:
24 Car, de même que l'éclair, quand il brille, resplendit d'une extrémité du ciel jusqu'à l'autre, il en sera ainsi du Fils de l'homme en son jour.
For as the lightening that lighteneth from under heaven, shineth unto the parts that are under heaven, so shall the Son of man be in his day.
25 Mais il faut auparavant qu'il souffre beaucoup, et qu'il soit rejeté par cette génération.
But first he must suffer many things, and be rejected by this generation.
26 Ce qui arriva du temps de Noé, arrivera également aux jours du Fils de l'homme:
And as it came to pass in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27 On mangeait, on buvait, on prenait et on donnait en mariage, jusqu'au jour où Noé entra dans l'arche, et le déluge vint, qui les fit tous périr.
They did eat and drink, they married wives, and were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark: and the flood came and destroyed them all.
28 De même aussi, aux jours de Lot, on mangeait, on buvait, on achetait, on vendait, on plantait, on bâtissait;
Likewise as it came to pass, in the days of Lot: they did eat and drink, they bought and sold, they planted and built.
29 et le jour où Lot sortit de Sodome, il tomba du ciel une pluie de feu et de soufre qui les fit tous périr.
And in the day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Il en sera de même au jour où le Fils de l'homme sera manifesté.
Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man shall be revealed.
31 En ce jour-là, que celui qui sera sur le toit et qui aura ses effets dans la maison, ne descende pas pour les emporter; de même, que celui qui sera aux champs ne revienne point sur ses pas.
In that hour, he that shall be on the housetop, and his goods in the house, let him not go down to take them away: and he that shall be in the field, in like manner, let him not return back.
32 Souvenez-vous de la femme de Lot!
Remember Lot’s wife.
33 Celui qui cherchera à sauver sa vie, la perdra: et celui qui la perdra, la retrouvera.
Whosoever shall seek to save his life, shall lose it: and whosoever shall lose it, shall preserve it.
34 Je vous le déclare, en cette nuit-là, deux hommes seront dans le même lit; l'un sera pris et l'autre laissé.
I say to you: in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
35 Deux femmes moudront ensemble; l'une sera prise et l'autre laissée.
Two women shall be grinding together: the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left: two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be keft.
36 [Deux hommes seront aux champs; l'un sera pris et l'autre laissé].
They answering, say to him: Where, Lord?
37 Alors, prenant la parole, ils lui dirent: Seigneur, où sera-ce? Il leur répondit: Où sera le corps, là s'assembleront les aigles.
Who said to them: Wheresoever the body shall be, thither will the eagles also be gathered together.
