Galates 1
1 Paul, apôtre — non de la part des hommes, ni par l'intermédiaire d'aucun homme, mais par Jésus-Christ et par Dieu, le Père, qui l'a ressuscité des morts,
Paul, an apostle (not from men, neither through man, but through Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead),
2 — ainsi que tous les frères qui sont avec moi, — aux Églises de Galatie.
and all the brethren which are with me, unto the churches of Galatia:
3 Que la grâce et la paix vous soient données de la part de Dieu, le Père, et de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ,
Grace to you and peace from God the Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ,
4 qui s'est donné lui-même pour nos péchés, afin de nous arracher à la corruption de ce siècle suivant la volonté de Dieu, notre Père, (aiōn g165)
who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us out of this present evil world, according to the will of our God and Father: (aiōn g165)
to whom [be] the glory for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
6 Je m'étonne que vous abandonniez si vite celui qui vous a appelés par la grâce de Jésus-Christ, pour passer à un autre Évangile.
I marvel that ye are so quickly removing from him that called you in the grace of Christ unto a different gospel;
7 Non pas qu'il y ait un autre Évangile; mais il y a des gens qui vous troublent et qui veulent renverser l'Évangile du Christ.
which is not another [gospel]: only there are some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 Eh bien, si jamais quelqu'un, — fût-ce nous-même ou un ange du ciel! — venait à vous annoncer un autre Évangile que celui que nous vous avons annoncé, qu'il soit anathème!
But though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach unto you any gospel other than that which we preached unto you, let him be anathema.
9 Je l'ai déjà dit, et je le dis encore maintenant: Si quelqu'un vous annonce un autre évangile que celui que vous avez reçu, qu'il soit anathème!
As we have said before, so say I now again, If any man preacheth unto you any gospel other than that which ye received, let him be anathema.
10 Est-ce l'approbation des hommes que je cherche, en ce moment, ou celle de Dieu? Ou bien, est-ce aux hommes que je veux plaire? Si j'en étais encore à plaire aux hommes, je ne serais pas serviteur de Christ!
For am I now persuading men, or God? or am I seeking to please men? if I were still pleasing men, I should not be a servant of Christ.
11 Je vous le déclare, frères, l'Évangile que j'ai annoncé ne vient pas de l'homme;
For I make known to you, brethren, as touching the gospel which was preached by me, that it is not after man.
12 car je ne l'ai reçu ni appris d'aucun homme, mais je l'ai reçu par une révélation de Jésus-Christ.
For neither did I receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but [it came to me] through revelation of Jesus Christ.
13 Vous avez entendu dire, en effet, quelle était autrefois ma conduite dans le judaïsme, et avec quel emportement je persécutais et ravageais l'Église de Dieu.
For ye have heard of my manner of life in time past in the Jews’ religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and made havock of it:
14 J'allais même plus loin dans le judaïsme que beaucoup de ceux de mon âge et de ma nation, étant le zélateur le plus ardent des traditions de mes pères.
and I advanced in the Jews’ religion beyond many of mine own age among my countrymen, being more exceedingly zealous for the traditions of my fathers.
15 Mais quand il plut à Celui qui m'a mis à part dès le sein de ma mère, et qui m'a appelé par sa grâce,
But when it was the good pleasure of God, who separated me, [even] from my mother’s womb, and called me through his grace,
16 de révéler son Fils en moi, en me chargeant de l'annoncer parmi les Païens, — j'obéis aussitôt, sans consulter ni la chair, ni le sang.
to reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the Gentiles; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:
17 Je ne montai pas non plus à Jérusalem auprès de ceux qui avaient été apôtres avant moi, mais je m'en allai en Arabie; puis, je revins encore à Damas.
neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me: but I went away into Arabia; and again I returned unto Damascus.
18 Ensuite, au bout de trois ans, je montai à Jérusalem, pour faire connaissance avec Céphas, et je demeurai auprès de lui quinze jours;
Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Cephas, and tarried with him fifteen days.
19 mais je ne vis aucun des apôtres, sinon Jacques, le frère du Seigneur.
But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord’s brother.
20 Oui, je l'affirme devant Dieu, ce que je vous écris n'est pas un mensonge.
Now touching the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.
21 J'allai ensuite dans les contrées de la Syrie et de la Cilicie,
Then I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia.
22 et j'étais inconnu de visage aux Églises de Judée qui sont en Christ.
And I was still unknown by face unto the churches of Judaea which were in Christ:
23 Seulement, elles avaient entendu dire: Celui qui nous persécutait jadis, annonce maintenant la foi qu'il s'efforçait alors de détruire.
but they only heard say, He that once persecuted us now preacheth the faith of which he once made havock;
24 Et elles glorifiaient Dieu à mon sujet.
and they glorified God in me.
