Luc 19
1 Entré dans Jéricho, Jésus traversait la ville.
Now when Iesus entred and passed through Iericho,
2 Il s'y trouvait un personnage du nom de Zacchée: c'était un chef de publicains, un homme riche.
Beholde, there was a man named Zaccheus, which was the chiefe receiuer of the tribute, and he was riche.
3 Il cherchait à voir qui était Jésus; mais, étant de petite taille, cela lui était impossible, à cause de la foule.
And he sought to see Iesus, who hee should be, and coulde not for the preasse, because he was of a lowe stature.
4 Alors il courut en avant et, pour voir Jésus, monta sur un sycomore au pied duquel il devait passer.
Wherefore he ranne before, and climed vp into a wilde figge tree, that he might see him: for he should come that way.
5 Arrivé en cet endroit, Jésus leva les yeux sur lui: «Zacchée, dit-il, hâte-toi de descendre; car aujourd'hui c'est dans ta maison qu'il faut que je m'arrête.»
And when Iesus came to the place, he looked vp, and saw him, and said vnto him, Zaccheus, come downe at once: for to day I must abide at thine house.
6 Cet homme descendit à la hâte et le reçut plein de joie.
Then he came downe hastily, and receiued him ioyfully.
7 Mais tous ceux qui voyaient cela murmuraient. «Il va demeurer chez un pécheur!» disaient-ils.
And when all they sawe it, they murmured, saying, that hee was gone in to lodge with a sinfull man.
8 Quant à Zacchée, il se tenait devant le Seigneur et lui disait: «La moitié de mes biens, Seigneur, je la donne aux pauvres, et si j'ai fait tort à quelqu'un de quoi que ce soit, je lui en restitue quatre fois autant.»
And Zaccheus stood forth, and said vnto the Lord, Beholde, Lord, the halfe of my goods I giue to the poore: and if I haue taken from any man by forged cauillation, I restore him foure folde.
9 Alors Jésus dit, en se tournant vers Zacchée: «Cette maison a reçu aujourd'hui le salut, parce que cet homme est, lui aussi, un fils d'Abraham.
Then Iesus said to him, This day is saluation come vnto this house, forasmuch as hee is also become the sonne of Abraham.
10 Car le Fils de l'homme est venu chercher et sauver ce qui est perdu.»
For the Sonne of man is come to seeke, and to saue that which was lost.
11 On l'écoutait; alors il continua en racontant une parabole; et il comme il était tout près de Jérusalem et qu'on croyait que le Royaume de Dieu allait tout à coup apparaître,
And whiles they heard these thinges, hee continued and spake a parable, because hee was neere to Hierusalem, and because also they thought that the kingdom of God should shortly appeare.
12 voici ce qu'il dit: «Un homme de grande naissance avait à se rendre dans un pays éloigné pour recevoir l'investiture d'un royaume et revenir ensuite.
He saide therefore, A certaine noble man went into a farre countrey, to receiue for himselfe a kingdome, and so to come againe.
13 Il appela dix de ses serviteurs, leur remit dix mines, en leur disant: «Faites valoir ceci jusqu'à mon retour.»
And he called his ten seruants, and deliuered them ten pieces of money, and sayd vnto them, Occupie till I come.
14 «Les concitoyens de cet homme le haïssaient et, après son départ, ils envoyèrent des délégués pour dire en leur nom: «Nous ne voulons pas que cet homme règne sur nous.»
Nowe his citizens hated him, and sent an ambassage after him, saying, We will not haue this man to reigne ouer vs.
15 «Cependant, quand il revint, il avait reçu le pouvoir royal; alors il fit appeler ses serviteurs, ceux à qui il avait donné l'argent, pour savoir comment chacun l'avait fait valoir.
And it came to passe, when hee was come againe, and had receiued his kingdome, that he commanded the seruants to be called to him, to whome he gaue his money, that he might knowe what euery man had gained.
16 Le premier se présenta et dit: «Seigneur, ta mine en a produit dix.» —
Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy piece hath encreased ten pieces.
17 «Bien, bon serviteur, lui répondit son maître, pour avoir, en si peu de choses, été fidèle, tu auras la puissance sur dix villes.»
And he sayd vnto him, Well, good seruant: because thou hast bene faithfull in a very litle thing, take thou authoritie ouer ten cities.
18 «Le second s'approcha et dit: «Ta mine, Seigneur, en a produit cinq.» —
And the second came, saying, Lord, thy piece hath encreased fiue pieces.
19 «Eh bien, toi, répondit le maître à celui-là, tu commanderas à cinq villes.»
And to the same he sayd, Be thou also ruler ouer fiue cities.
20 «Un autre encore s'approcha et dit: «Seigneur, voici ta mine que j'ai tenue enveloppée dans un linge.
So the other came, and sayd, Lord, beholde thy piece, which I haue laide vp in a napkin:
21 Je te craignais, en effet, car tu es un homme terrible; tu t'empares de ce que tu n'as pas, fondé; tu moissonnes ce que tu n'as pas semé.» —
For I feared thee, because thou art a straight man: thou takest vp, that thou layedst not downe, and reapest that thou diddest not sowe.
22 «De ta propre bouche je tire ton jugement, mauvais serviteur, répondit le maître; ah! tu savais que je suis un homme terrible, m'emparant de ce que je n'ai pas fondé, moissonnant ce que je n'ai pas semé!
Then he sayde vnto him, Of thine owne mouth will I iudge thee, O euill seruant. Thou knewest that I am a straight man, taking vp that I layd not downe, and reaping that I did not sowe.
23 et pourquoi n'as-tu pas placé mon argent dans une banque; à mon retour, je l'aurais retiré avec un intérêt.»
Wherefore then gauest not thou my money into the banke, that at my coming I might haue required it with vantage?
24 Puis s'adressant à ceux qui étaient là: «Otez-lui la mine et donnez-la à celui qui en a dix.» —
And he sayd to them that stoode by, Take from him that piece, and giue it him that hath ten pieces.
25 (Seigneur, lui dirent-ils, il a dix mines).
(And they sayd vnto him, Lord, hee hath ten pieces.)
26 «Je vous le déclare, à tout homme qui a, il sera donné; mais à celui qui n'a pas, même ce qu'il a lui sera ôté.
For I say vnto you, that vnto all them that haue, it shalbe giuen: and from him that hath not, euen that he hath, shalbe taken from him.
27 Quant à mes ennemis, à ceux qui n'ont pas voulu que je régnasse sur eux, amenez-les ici et égorgez-les devant moi.»
Moreouer, those mine enemies, which would not that I should reigne ouer them, bring hither, and slay them before me.
28 Jésus parla ainsi, puis il partit devant, montant à Jérusalem.
And when he had thus spoken, he went forth before, ascending vp to Hierusalem.
29 Quand ils furent près de Bethphagé et de Béthanie, du côté du mont appelé Bois d'oliviers, Jésus envoya deux des disciples,
And it came to passe, when hee was come neere to Bethphage, and Bethania, besides the mount which is called the mount of Oliues, he sent two of his disciples,
30 en leur disant: «Allez à ce village qui est devant vous; à l'entrée, vous trouverez un ânon attaché, que personne n'a jamais monté. Détachez-le et l'amenez.
Saying, Goe ye to the towne which is before you, wherein, assoone as ye are come, ye shall finde a colte tied, whereon neuer man sate: loose him, and bring him hither.
31 Si l'on vous demande pourquoi vous le détachez, vous ferez cette réponse: «Le Seigneur en a besoin.»
And if any man aske you, why ye loose him, thus shall ye say vnto him, Because the Lord hath neede of him.
32 Les messagers partirent et trouvèrent l'ânon, ainsi qu'il le leur avait dit.
So they that were sent, went their way, and found it as he had sayd vnto them.
33 Tandis qu'ils le détachaient, ses maîtres leur dirent: «Pourquoi détachez-vous cet ânon?» —
And as they were loosing the colte, the owners thereof sayd vnto them, Why loose ye the colte?
34 «Parce que le Seigneur en a besoin», répondirent-ils.
And they sayd, The Lord hath neede of him.
35 Ils conduisirent donc l'ânon, sur lequel ils jetèrent leurs manteaux, à Jésus, qu'ils firent monter sur lui.
So they brought him to Iesus, and they cast their garments on the colte, and set Iesus thereon.
36 Quand il fut en marche, ils étendirent leurs vêtements sur la route,
And as he went, they spred their clothes in the way.
37 et lorsqu'il s'approcha de la descente du mont des Oliviers, la multitude des disciples se mit tout entière à jeter des cris de joie et à louer Dieu au sujet de tous les miracles qu'ils avaient vus.
And when he was nowe come neere to the going downe of the mount of Oliues, the whole multitude of the disciples began to reioyce, and to prayse God with a loude voyce, for all the great workes that they had seene,
38 Ils disaient: «Béni soit le Roi qui vient au nom du Seigneur!» «Paix dans le ciel et gloire au plus haut des cieux!»
Saying, Blessed be the King that commeth in the Name of the Lord: peace in heauen, and glory in the highest places.
39 Quelques Pharisiens qui étaient dans la foule lui dirent: «Maître, réprime tes disciples.»
Then some of the Pharises of the companie sayd vnto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.
40 Il leur répondit par ces paroles: «Je vous déclare que si ceux-ci se taisent, les pierres crieront!»
But he answered, and sayd vnto them, I tell you, that if these should holde their peace, the stones would crie.
41 Il approcha de la ville; quand il la vit, il pleura sur elle, en disant:
And when he was come neere, he behelde the Citie, and wept for it,
42 «Si tu avais reconnu, toi aussi, du moins en ce jour, ce qui te pourrait apporter la paix; mais, à l'heure présente, tout cela est voilé à tes regards.
Saying, O if thou haddest euen knowen at the least in this thy day those things, which belong vnto thy peace! but nowe are they hid from thine eyes.
43 Des jours viendront sur toi où tes ennemis t'entoureront d'une palissade, t'enfermeront comme dans un cercle et te serreront de toutes parts;
For the dayes shall come vpon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compasse thee round, and keepe thee in on euery side,
44 ils te briseront contre le sol, toi et tes enfants qui sont dans ton sein, et ils ne laisseront pas en toi pierre sur pierre, parce que tu n'as pas reconnu le temps de ta visitation.»
And shall make thee euen with ye ground, and thy children which are in thee, and they shall not leaue in thee a stone vpon a stone, because thou knewest not that season of thy visitation.
45 Jésus entra dans le Temple et se mit à en chasser les vendeurs.
He went also into the Temple, and began to cast out them that solde therein, and them that bought,
46 Il est écrit, leur dit-il: «Ma maison est une maison de prières» Et vous en avez fait une caverne de brigands.
Saying vnto them, It is written, Mine house is the house of prayer, but ye haue made it a denne of theeues.
47 Chaque jour, dans le Temple, il enseignait. Les chefs des prêtres et les Scribes cherchaient à le faire périr, ainsi que les principaux personnages de la nation.
And he taught dayly in the Temple. And the hie Priests and the Scribes, and the chiefe of the people sought to destroy him.
48 Mais ils ne trouvaient pas le moyen de le faire, à cause du peuple, qui, tout entier, était suspendu à ses lèvres.
But they could not finde what they might doe to him: for all the people hanged vpon him when they heard him.
