Zacharie 4

1 Et l'ange qui parlait avec moi revint, et me réveilla comme un homme que l'on réveille de son sommeil.

And the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep,

2 Et il me dit: Que vois- tu? Et je dis: Je vois! et voici un chandelier tout d'or, ayant son réservoir à son sommet et portant sept lampes, et sept tuyaux pour chacune des lampes qui sont à son sommet;

And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all [of] gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which [are] upon the top thereof:

3 et auprès, deux oliviers, un à droite du réservoir et un à sa gauche.

And two olive trees by it, one upon the right [side] of the bowl, and the other upon the left [side] thereof.

4 Et je pris la parole et dis à l'ange qui parlait avec moi: Qu'est-ce que cela, mon Seigneur?

So I answered and spake to the angel that talked with me, saying, What [are] these, my lord?

5 Et l'ange qui parlait avec moi, répondit et me dit: Ne sais-tu pas ce que c'est? Et je dis: Non! mon Seigneur.

Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.

6 Et il répondit et me dit: C'est ici la parole de l'Éternel adressée à Zorobabel: Ni par la force, ni par la puissance, mais par mon Esprit, dit l'Éternel des armées.

Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This [is] the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

7 Qui es-tu, grosse montagne? Devant Zorobabel aplanis-toi! Il fait saillir la pierre du faîte aux cris de: La grâce! la grâce pour elle!

Who [art] thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel [thou shalt become] a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone [thereof with] shoutings, [crying], Grace, grace unto it.

8 Et la parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée en ces termes:

Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

9 Les mains de Zorobabel ont fondé cette maison, et ses mains l'achèveront, et tu sauras que l'Éternel des armées m'a envoyé à vous.

The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you.

10 Car qui pourrait mépriser le jour des faibles commencements? Avec joie ils contempleront le plomb dans la main de Zorobabel, ces sept, les yeux de l'Éternel qui parcourent toute la terre.

For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel [with] those seven; they [are] the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth.

11 Et je répondis et lui dis: Que sont ces deux oliviers à la droite du chandelier et à sa gauche?

Then answered I, and said unto him, What [are] these two olive trees upon the right [side] of the candlestick and upon the left [side] thereof?

12 Et reprenant une seconde fois la parole je lui dis: Que sont ces deux rameaux d'olivier qui touchent aux deux conduits d'or d'où découle la liqueur dorée.

And I answered again, and said unto him, What [be these] two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden [oil] out of themselves?

13 Et il me dit: Ne sais-tu pas ce que c'est? Et je dis: Non! mon Seigneur.

And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these [be]? And I said, No, my lord.

14 Et il dit: Ce sont les deux oints qui se tiennent debout auprès du Seigneur de toute la terre.

Then said he, These [are] the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.
