Romains 1
1 Paul, — esclave de Jésus-Christ, appelé à être apôtre, mis à part pour l'évangile de Dieu
Paul the seruaut of Iesus Christ called to be an Apostle put a parte to preache the Gospell of God
2 que d'avance Il avait promis par Ses prophètes dans les écritures saintes,
which he promysed afore by his Prophetes in the holy scriptures
3 concernant Son Fils, qui est né de la postérité de David, selon la chair,
that make mension of his sonne the which was begotte of the seed of David as pertayninge to the flesshe:
4 qui a été déclaré Fils de Dieu, avec puissance selon l'Esprit de sainteté, par la résurrection des morts, Jésus-Christ notre Seigneur,
and declared to be the sonne of God with power of the holy goost that sanctifieth sence ye tyme that Iesus Christ oure Lorde rose agayne from deeth
5 par lequel nous avons reçu la grâce et l'apostolat, pour prêcher en son nom l'obéissance de la foi parmi tous les Gentils,
by whom we have receaved grace and apostleshyppe to bringe all maner hethe people vnto obedience of the fayth that is in his name:
6 parmi lesquels vous êtes aussi, vous qu'a appelés Jésus-Christ, —
of the which hethen are ye a part also which are Iesus christes by vocacio.
7 à tous les bien-aimés de Dieu, appelés à être saints, qui sont à Rome: que la grâce et la paix vous soient données par Dieu notre Père et par le Seigneur Jésus-Christ!
To all you of Rome beloved of God and saynctes by callinge. Grace be with you and peace from God oure father and from the Lorde Iesus Christ.
8 Je rends d'abord grâces à mon Dieu par Jésus-Christ, au sujet de vous tous, parce que votre foi est proclamée dans le monde entier.
Fyrst verely I thanke my God thorow Iesus Christ for you all because youre fayth is publisshed through out all the worlde.
9 Car Dieu, auquel je rends un culte dans mon esprit en prêchant l'évangile de Son Fils, m'est témoin que je fais incessamment mention de vous,
For God is my witnes whom I serve with my sprete in the Gospell of his sonne that with out ceasinge I make mencion of you alwayes in my prayers
10 demandant constamment dans mes prières si je n'aurai point enfin le bonheur, par la volonté de Dieu, de venir jusques à vous.
besechinge that at one tyme or another a prosperous iorney (by ye will of god) myght fortune me to come vnto you.
11 Car je désire ardemment vous voir, afin de vous communiquer quelque don spirituel pour vous affermir,
For I longe to see you that I myght bestowe amoge you some spirituall gyfte to strength you with all:
12 ou plutôt pour trouver de l'encouragement au milieu de vous par la foi qui nous est commune à vous et à moi.
that is that I myght have consolacion together with you through the commen fayth which bothe ye and I have.
13 Je ne veux pas toutefois que vous ignoriez, frères, que j'ai souvent formé le projet d'aller jusques à vous (et j'en ai été empêché jusques à présent), afin de recueillir quelque fruit parmi vous, aussi bien que parmi les autres Gentils:
I wolde that ye shuld knowe brethre how that I have often tymes purposed to come vnto you (but have bene let hitherto) to have some frute amonge you as I have amonge other of ye Gentyls.
14 je me dois aux Grecs et aux Barbares, aux sages et aux ignorants.
For I am detter both to the Grekes and to them which are no Grekes vnto the learned and also vnto the vnlearned.
15 Ainsi, pour ce qui me concerne, je suis impatient de vous porter aussi la bonne nouvelle, à vous qui êtes à Rome.
Lykewyse as moche as in me is I am redy to preache the Gospell to you of Rome also.
16 Je n'ai point honte, en effet, de l'évangile, car c'est une puissance de Dieu qui produit le salut pour tout croyant, Juif et Grec;
For I am not ashamed of the Gospell of Christ because it is ye power of God vnto salvacio to all yt beleve namely to the Iewe and also to ye getyle.
17 parce que la justice de Dieu y est révélée par la foi pour la foi, selon qu'il est écrit: « Or celui qui est juste par la foi vivra. »
For by it ye rightewesnes which cometh of god is opened fro fayth to fayth. As it is written: The iust shall live by fayth.
18 En effet, la colère de Dieu est révélée du ciel contre toute impiété et toute injustice des hommes qui asservissent injustement la vérité,
For the wrath of God apereth from heven agaynst all vngodlynes and vnrightewesnes of me which withholde ye trueth in vnrightewesnes
19 parce que ce que l'on connaît de Dieu leur est intérieurement manifesté, car Dieu le leur manifeste.
seynge what maye be knowen of God that same is manifest amoge them. For God dyd shewe it vnto them.
20 En effet, ce qui en Lui est invisible, tant Sa puissance éternelle que Sa divinité, se fait voir depuis la création du monde par Ses œuvres, quand on y réfléchit; en sorte qu'ils sont inexcusables, (aïdios g126)
So that his invisible thinges: that is to saye his eternall power and godhed are vnderstonde and sene by the workes from the creacion of the worlde. So that they are without excuse (aïdios g126)
21 parce qu'ayant connu Dieu, ils ne L'ont point glorifié comme Dieu, ni ne Lui ont rendu grâces, mais ils se sont égarés dans leurs pensées, et leur cœur dépourvu d'intelligence s'est obscurci.
in as moche as when they knewe god they glorified him not as God nether were thakfull but wexed full of vanities in their imaginacions and their folisshe hertes were blynded.
22 Se donnant pour sages ils ont été atteints de folie,
When they couted them selves wyse they became foles
23 et ils ont échangé la gloire du Dieu incorruptible contre des simulacres faits à l'image de l'homme corruptible et des oiseaux et des quadrupèdes et des reptiles.
and turned the glory of the immortall god vnto the similitude of the ymage of mortall man and of byrdes and foure foted beastes and of serpentes.
24 C'est pourquoi Dieu les a livrés, dans les convoitises de leurs cœurs, à une impureté telle que leurs corps sont déshonorés parmi eux;
Wherfore god lykewyse gave the vp vnto their hertes lustes vnto vnclennes to defyle their awne boddyes bitwene them selves:
25 eux qui ont changé la vérité de Dieu en mensonge, et rendu des hommages et un culte à la créature à l'exclusion du Créateur, qui est béni pour les siècles! Amen! (aiōn g165)
which tourned his truthe vnto a lye and worshipped and served the creatures more then ye maker which is blessed for ever. Ame. (aiōn g165)
26 C'est pourquoi Dieu les a livrés à des passions infâmes: d'un côté, en effet, leurs femmes ont changé l'usage naturel en celui qui est contre nature,
For this cause god gave them vp vnto shamfull lustes. For even their wemen did chaunge the naturall vse vnto the vnnaturall.
27 et de l'autre, les hommes, ayant aussi abandonné l'usage naturel de la femme, se sont enflammés dans leur passion les uns pour les autres en perpétrant l'infamie d'hommes à hommes et recevant en eux-mêmes la rétribution qui était due à leur égarement.
And lyke wyse also the men lefte the naturall vse of the woma and bret in their lustes one on another. And man with man wrought filthynes and receaved in them selves the rewarde of their erroure as it was accordinge.
28 Et comme ils n'ont pas daigné retenir la connaissance de Dieu, Dieu les a livrés à leur sens réprouvé, de sorte qu'ils font ce qui est indigne,
And as it semed not good vnto them to be aknowen of God even so God delivered them vp vnto a leawde mynd yt they shuld do tho thinges which were not comly
29 étant remplis de toute espèce d'injustice, de méchanceté, de cupidité, de perversité; pleins d'envie, de meurtre, de querelle, de ruse, de malveillance;
beinge full of all vnrighteous doinge of fornicacio wickednes coveteousnes maliciousnes full of envie morther debate disseyte evill codicioned whisperers
30 délateurs, médisants, ennemis de Dieu, insulteurs, superbes, fanfarons, ingénieux au mal, rebelles à leurs parents,
backbyters haters of God doers of wroge proude bosters bringers vp of evyll thinges disobedient to father and mother
31 dépourvus d'intelligence, insensibles, impitoyables,
with out vnderstondinge covenaunte breakers vnlovinge trucebreakers and merciles.
32 lesquels, quoiqu'ils connaissent le décret de Dieu qui déclare dignes de mort ceux qui commettent de telles choses, non seulement les pratiquent, mais encore approuvent ceux qui les commettent.
Which me though they knew the rightewesnes of God how that they which soche thinges commyt are worthy of deeth yet not only do the same but also have pleasure in them that do them.
