Luc 5
1 Or il advint, pendant que la foule se pressait autour de lui et écoutait la parole de Dieu, et que lui-même se tenait debout auprès du lac de Gennèsareth,
Now it happened, while the people were crowding around Jesus and listening to the word of God, that he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret.
2 qu'il vit deux barques qui stationnaient au bord du lac; mais les pêcheurs en étaient descendus et lavaient leurs filets.
He saw two boats pulled up by the edge of the lake. The fishermen had gotten out of them and were washing their nets.
3 Or étant monté dans l'une des barques, qui appartenait à Simon, il le pria de s'éloigner un peu de la terre, et s'étant assis, il enseignait la foule de dedans la barque.
Jesus got into one of the boats, which was Simon's, and asked him to put it out in the water a short distance from the land. Then he sat down and taught the people out of the boat.
4 Mais, lorsqu'il eut cessé de parler, il dit à Simon: « Pousse au large, et jetez vos filets pour pêcher. »
When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Take the boat out into the deeper water and let down your nets for a catch.”
5 Et Simon lui répliqua: « Maître, nous avons travaillé toute la nuit sans rien prendre; mais sur ta parole je jetterai les filets. »
Simon answered and said, “Master, we worked all night, and caught nothing, but at your word, I will let down the nets.”
6 Et l'ayant fait, ils ramenèrent une grande quantité de poissons; mais leurs filets se déchiraient,
When they had done this, they gathered a very large number of fish, and their nets were breaking.
7 et ils firent signe à leurs camarades dans l'autre barque de venir les aider; et ils vinrent, et les deux barques furent tellement remplies, qu'elles enfonçaient.
So they motioned to their partners in the other boat that they should come and help them. They came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.
8 Ce que Simon Pierre ayant vu, il se jeta aux genoux de Jésus en disant: « Éloigne-toi de moi, car je suis un homme pécheur, seigneur. »
But Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, Lord.”
9 Il était en effet saisi d'épouvante, ainsi que tous ceux qui étaient avec lui, à cause de la capture des poissons qu'ils avaient pris.
For he was amazed, and all who were with him, at the catch of fish which they had taken.
10 Or, il en était aussi de même de Jacques et de Jean fils de Zébédée, qui étaient associés de Simon. Et Jésus dit à Simon: « Ne crains point; désormais tu seras un preneur d'hommes. »
This included James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid, because from now on you will catch men.”
11 Et ayant ramené les barques vers la terre, ils quittèrent tout et ils le suivirent.
When they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed him.
12 Et il advint, pendant qu'il se trouvait dans une des villes, que, voici, un homme couvert de lèpre ayant vu Jésus tomba la face contre terre, et le supplia en disant: « Seigneur, si tu le veux, tu peux me guérir. »
It came about that while he was in one of the cities, a man full of leprosy was there. When he saw Jesus, he fell on his face and begged him, saying, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”
13 Et ayant étendu la main, il le toucha en disant: « Je le veux, sois guéri! » Et aussitôt la lèpre le quitta.
Then Jesus reached out his hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing. Be clean.” Immediately the leprosy left him.
14 Et il lui enjoignit de n'en parler à personne; « mais va, » lui dit-il, « te montrer au sacrificateur, et présente l'offrande pour ta purification conformément à ce qu'a prescrit Moïse pour leur servir d'attestation. »
He instructed him to tell no one, but told him, “Go on your way, and show yourself to the priest and offer a sacrifice for your cleansing, according to what Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.”
15 Or le bruit de sa renommée ne faisait que se répandre de plus en plus, et une foule nombreuse accourait pour l'entendre, et pour être guérie de ses infirmités.
But the report about him spread even farther, and large crowds of people came together to hear him teach and to be healed of their sicknesses.
16 Quant à lui, il se retirait dans les déserts et priait.
But he often withdrew into the deserted places and prayed.
17 Et il advint un jour, pendant que lui-même enseignait et que les pharisiens et les docteurs de la loi, qui étaient venus de tous les villages de Galilée et de Judée et de Jérusalem, se trouvaient présents, et qu'une puissance du Seigneur se montrait dans ses guérisons,
It came about on one of those days that he was teaching, and there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting there who had come from many different villages in the regions of Galilee and Judea, and also from the town of Jerusalem. The power of the Lord was with him to heal.
18 que, voici, des hommes apportent sur un lit un homme qui était paralytique, et ils cherchaient à l'introduire et à le placer devant lui.
Now some men came, carrying on a mat a man that was paralyzed, and they looked for a way to bring him inside in order to lay him down in front of Jesus.
19 Et n'ayant pas trouvé le moyen de l'introduire, à cause de la foule, ils montèrent sur le toit, et ils le descendirent au travers des tuiles avec son petit lit, tout au milieu en présence de tous.
They could not find a way to bring him in because of the crowd, so they went up to the housetop and let the man down through the tiles, on his mat, into the midst of the people, right in front of Jesus.
20 Et ayant vu leur foi, il dit: « O homme, tes péchés t'ont été pardonnés! »
Seeing their faith, Jesus said, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.”
21 Et les scribes et les pharisiens se mirent à se demander: « Qui est celui-ci, qui profère des blasphèmes? Qui est-ce qui peut pardonner les péchés, si ce n'est Dieu seul? »
The scribes and the Pharisees began to question this, saying, “Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
22 Mais Jésus connaissant leurs pensées, leur répliqua: « A quoi pensez-vous dans vos cœurs?
But Jesus, perceiving what they were thinking, answered and said to them, “Why are you questioning this in your hearts?
23 Quel est le plus facile, de dire: Tes péchés t'ont été pardonnés, ou de dire: Lève-toi et marche.
Which is easier to say, 'Your sins are forgiven you' or to say 'Get up and walk?'
24 Or, pour que vous sachiez que le fils de l'homme a sur la terre l'autorité de pardonner les péchés… » il dit au paralytique: « Je te le dis, lève-toi, prends ton petit lit, et va-t-en dans ta maison. »
But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins,”—he said to the paralysed man—”I tell you, get up, pick up your mat and go to your house.”
25 Et aussitôt s'étant levé devant eux, il prit sa couche, et s'en alla dans sa maison en glorifiant Dieu.
Immediately he got up in front of them and picked up the mat on which he was lying. Then he went away to his house, glorifying God.
26 Et tous furent saisis de surprise, et ils glorifiaient Dieu, et ils furent remplis de crainte, « car, » disaient-ils, « nous avons vu aujourd'hui des choses étranges. »
Everyone was amazed and they glorified God. They were filled with fear, saying, “We have seen extraordinary things today.”
27 Et après cela il sortit, et vit un publicain, nommé Lévis, assis au bureau des péages, et il lui dit: « Suis-moi! »
After these things happened, Jesus went out from there and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the tax collector's tent. He said to him, “Follow me.”
28 Et ayant tout quitté, il se leva, et il le suivait.
So Levi got up and followed him, leaving everything behind.
29 Et Lévis lui donna un grand festin dans sa maison; et il y avait une grande foule de publicains et d'autres personnes qui étaient attablés avec eux.
Then Levi gave a big banquet in his house for Jesus. There were many tax collectors there and other people who were reclining at the table and eating with them.
30 Et les pharisiens et leurs scribes s'en plaignaient à ses disciples, en disant: « Pourquoi mangez-vous et buvez-vous avec les publicains et les pécheurs? »
But the Pharisees and their scribes were complaining to his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and other sinful people?”
31 Et Jésus leur répliqua: « Ce ne sont pas ceux qui sont en bonne santé qui ont besoin du médecin, mais les mal portants;
Jesus answered them, “People who are well do not need a physician; only those who are sick.
32 je ne suis pas venu appeler des justes mais des pécheurs à la repentance. »
I did not come to call righteous people to repentance, but to call sinners to repentance.”
33 Mais ils lui dirent: « Les disciples de Jean jeûnent souvent, et ils font des prières; il en est aussi de même de ceux des pharisiens, mais les tiens mangent et boivent. »
They said to him, “The disciples of John often fast and pray, and the disciples of the Pharisees do the same. But your disciples eat and drink.”
34 Mais Jésus leur dit: « Pouvez-vous faire jeûner les fils de la chambre nuptiale pendant que l'époux est avec eux?
Jesus said to them, “Can anyone make the wedding attendants of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is still with them?
35 Mais des jours viendront… et quand l'époux leur sera enlevé, alors ils jeûneront en ces jours-là. »
But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, then in those days they will fast.”
36 Mais il leur adressait encore une parabole: « Personne n'arrache une pièce à un habit neuf pour la mettre à un vieil habit; autrement d'un côté on déchirera le neuf, et de l'autre la pièce du neuf ne s'accordera pas avec le vieux.
Then Jesus also spoke a parable to them. “No one tears a piece of cloth from a new garment and uses it to mend an old garment. If he did that, he would tear the new garment, and the piece of cloth from the new garment would not fit with the cloth of the old garment.
37 Et personne ne met du vin nouveau dans des outres vieilles, autrement le vin nouveau rompra les outres, et lui-même se répandra, et les outres seront perdues;
No one puts new wine into old wineskins. If he does that, the new wine would burst the skins, and the wine would be spilled, and the wineskins would be destroyed.
38 mais on doit mettre du vin nouveau dans des outres neuves.
But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins.
39 Personne en buvant du vieux ne désire du nouveau, car il dit: le vieux est bon. »
No one after drinking old wine wants the new, for he says, 'The old is better.'”
