Lévitique 22
1 Et l'Éternel parla à Moïse en ces termes:
Yahweh also said to Moses/me,
2 Dis à Aaron et à ses fils, qu'afin de ne pas profaner mon saint nom, il y aura des cas où ils s'abstiendront des choses saintes que me consacrent les enfants d'Israël. Je suis l'Éternel.
“Tell Aaron and his sons to greatly respect the sacred offerings that the Israeli people bring to me; by doing that you will respect me [MTY], Yahweh.
3 Dis-leur: Si dans vos générations futures l'un quelconque de vos descendants s'approche, étant en état d'impureté, des choses saintes que les enfants d'Israël consacrent à l'Éternel, cette personne-là sera éliminée de ma présence. Je suis l'Éternel.
“Tell them that for all future time, if any of their descendants comes near to the sacred offerings that the Israeli people dedicate to me while he is unfit to work for me, that person will no longer be allowed to work for me. I, Yahweh, [am commanding this].
4 Tout descendant d'Aaron ayant la lèpre ou un flux ne mangera des choses consacrées qu'après être redevenu pur; de même si quelqu'un a touché ce qui a été souillé par un cadavre, ou a eu un écoulement séminal,
“If any descendant of Aaron has a contagious skin disease or a discharge from his sexual organs, he is not allowed to eat any of the sacred offerings until he is cured. He will also be unfit for his work if he touches anything which has become unacceptable to me because it has touched a corpse, or if he touches anyone who as an emission of semen,
5 ou si quelqu'un a touché un reptile qui le rende impur
or if he touches anything that crawls on the ground, or if he touches any person who causes him to be unfit for his work.
6 ou un homme entaché d'une souillure quelconque, celui qui aura touché ces objets, sera jusqu'au soir en état d'impureté, et ne mangera pas des choses consacrées, mais il baignera son corps dans l'eau;
Any priest who touches such things must bathe, and he must not touch anyone else until that evening.
7 et après le coucher du soleil il sera en état de pureté et pourra ensuite manger des choses saintes; car c'est sa nourriture.
After the sun sets, he will be permitted to eat some of the sacred offerings that are for him to eat.
8 Il ne mangera pas d'une bête morte ou déchirée afin de ne pas en être souillé. Je suis l'Éternel.
He must not eat anything that is found dead or that has been killed by wild animals, because if he did that, he would be unfit to work for me. I, Yahweh [am commanding those things].
9 Qu'ils observent ainsi ce qu'ils ont à observer envers moi, afin de ne pas se mettre sous le poids d'un péché et de ne pas mourir pour s'être profanés par là. Je suis l'Éternel qui les consacre.
“The priests must obey my commandments in order that they will not become guilty and die as a result of (despising/not obeying) them.
10 Nul étranger ne mangera des choses saintes; celui qui n'est qu'attaché au service d'un prêtre et le mercenaire ne mangeront point des choses saintes.
“Anyone who is not a member of a priest’s family is not permitted to eat any of a sacred offering, and no one who is visiting the priest or whom the priest has hired is permitted to eat it.
11 Mais si un Prêtre a acheté un esclave à prix d'argent, celui-ci en mangera, ainsi que l'esclave né dans la maison; ceux-là pourront manger de son pain.
But if a priest buys a slave, or if a slave is born in his house, that slave is permitted to eat such food.
12 Et si la fille d'un Prêtre se marie à un homme d'une autre tribu, elle ne pourra pas manger des choses saintes offertes par élévation.
If a priest’s daughter marries a man who is not a priest, she no longer is permitted to eat the sacred food.
13 Mais si la fille d'un Prêtre devient veuve ou est répudiée, et qu'elle n'ait point d'enfants, et qu'elle revienne habiter la maison de son père comme dans sa jeunesse, elle pourra manger du pain de son père; mais nul étranger n'en mangera.
But if a priest’s daughter who has no children becomes a widow or becomes divorced, if she returns to her father’s house to live there like she did when she was young, she may eat the same food that her father eats. But no other person is permitted to eat any of it.
14 Et si quelqu'un par mégarde mange des choses saintes, il restituera au Prêtre la chose consacrée en y ajoutant un cinquième.
“If anyone who is not permitted to eat a sacred offering eats it without realizing that it is sacred, he must pay the priest for the offering, and pay him an extra one-fifth of its value.
15 Et ils ne profaneront point les choses saintes des enfants d'Israël, ce qu'ils offrent par élévation à l'Éternel;
When the priests bring offerings to me, the sacred offerings that the Israeli people bring to them, they must not treat those offerings as though they are not sacred
16 par là ils les mettraient sous le poids du délit dont ils se rendraient coupables en mangeant ce qu'ils ont consacré; car je suis l'Éternel qui les consacre.
by allowing those who are not priests to eat any of those offerings. If they did that, they would become guilty and must make a payment. I am Yahweh, the one who causes those offerings to be sacred.”
17 Et l'Éternel parla à Moïse en ces termes:
Yahweh also said to Moses/me,
18 Parle à Aaron et ses fils et à tous les enfants d'Israël et leur dis: Tout individu de la maison d'Israël ou des étrangers domiciliés en Israël, qui présentera en oblation quelqu'une de leurs victimes votives ou volontaires qu'ils offrent à l'Éternel en holocauste,
“Speak to Aaron and his sons and to all the Israeli people and tell them that I command this: ‘If any of you Israelis or foreigners who live in Israel brings to me an animal that will be completely burned [on the altar], either as a result of a solemn promise that you made to me or to be an offering that is given voluntarily,
19 devra prendre pour la faire agréer une victime sans défaut, un mâle parmi vos bœufs, vos moutons ou vos chèvres;
it must be an animal that has no defects, in order that it will be accepted by me.
20 vous n'en offrirez aucune qui ait un défaut, vous ne la feriez pas agréer.
Do not bring any animals that have defects, because I will not accept them as an offering from you.
21 Et si quelqu'un offre à l'Éternel en sacrifice pacifique pour l'acquit d'un vœu, ou comme don volontaire, une pièce de gros ou de menu bétail, elle doit être sans défaut pour être agréée; il ne doit s'y trouver aucun défaut.
[Similarly], when someone brings from his cattle or sheep or goats an offering to maintain fellowship with me, either to fulfill a promise that he made to me or to be a voluntary offering, in order that I will accept it, it must have no defects [DOU] or blemishes.
22 Celle qui serait aveugle, ou fracturée, ou blessée, ou ulcérée, ou atteinte de la gale ou de la teigne, vous ne la présenterez point à l'Éternel, et n'en ferez point sur l'Autel de sacrifice igné à l'Éternel.
Do not offer to me animals that are blind or injured or maimed/crippled, or any animal that has warts or a festering sore [DOU].
23 Le bœuf ou le mouton ayant une excroissance, ou arrêté dans sa croissance, vous pourrez l'offrir comme sacrifice volontaire, mais comme sacrifice votif il ne serait point agréé.
You may present to me to be a voluntary offering an ox or a sheep that is injured or stunted, but it will not be accepted to fulfill a promise made to me.
24 Tout animal châtré par compression, par contusion, par extraction ou par amputation, vous ne le présenterez point à l'Éternel, et ne le sacrifierez point dans votre pays.
You must not offer to me animals whose testicles are bruised or crushed or torn or cut. You must not injure the testicles of any animal in your land,
25 Et vous ne recevrez de l'enfant de l'étranger aucune victime pareille pour l'offrir comme pain de votre Dieu, car il y a là corruption et il y a là défaut; vous ne pourriez la faire agréer.
and you must not accept such animals that are sold/given to you by a foreigner. You must not offer them to me as a sacrifice for me. Such animals will not be accepted by me, because they are deformed or have defects.’”
26 Et l'Éternel parla à Moïse en ces termes:
Yahweh also said to Moses/me,
27 Le bœuf, le mouton ou la chèvre qui naîtra, restera sept jours sous sa mère, et dès le huitième jour et au delà, il sera agréé comme oblation ignée pour l'Éternel.
“When a calf or lamb or goat is born, it must remain with its mother for seven days. After that, it will be acceptable as an offering to me that will be burned.
28 Mais bœuf ou mouton vous n'égorgerez pas le petit et sa mère le même jour.
Do not slaughter a cow or a sheep and its baby on the same day.
29 Et quand vous offrirez un sacrifice de louange à l'Éternel, offrez-le de manière à être agréé.
“Then you sacrifice an animal to thank [me for what I have done], sacrifice it in a way that is acceptable to me.
30 Il se mangera le jour même, et vous n'en garderez rien jusqu'au matin. Je suis l'Éternel.
The meat must be eaten on that day; do not leave any of it until the next morning. I, Yahweh, [am the one who am commanding this].
31 Observez ainsi mes commandements et pratiquez-les. Je suis l'Éternel.
“Obey all my commands [DOU]. I, Yahweh, [am commanding them];
32 Et ne profanez pas mon saint nom, afin que ma sainteté se montre au milieu des enfants d'Israël.
do not dishonor me [MTY] [by disobeying them]. You Israeli people must acknowledge that I, Yahweh, am holy, and I am the one who causes you to be holy.
33 Je suis l'Éternel qui vous ai consacrés, qui vous ai tirés du pays d'Egypte pour être votre Dieu. Je suis l'Éternel.
And I am the one who brought you out of Egypt in order to show that that I, Yahweh, am [and will always be] your God.”
