Lévitique 18
1 Et l'Éternel parla à Moïse en ces termes:
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Parle aux fils d'Israël et leur dis: Je suis l'Éternel, votre Dieu.
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I am the LORD your God.
3 Vous n'imiterez ni ce qui se pratique dans le pays d'Egypte où vous avez habité, ni ce qui se pratique dans le pays de Canaan où je vais vous introduire, et vous ne suivrez point leurs usages.
After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances.
4 Vous pratiquerez mes lois et garderez mes statuts pour les suivre. Je suis l'Éternel, votre Dieu.
Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I [am] the LORD your God.
5 Et vous garderez mes statuts et mes lois; l'homme qui les pratique y trouve la vie. Je suis l'Éternel.
Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I [am] the LORD.
6 Nul ne s'approchera d'une personne de même sang que lui pour découvrir sa nudité. Je suis l'Éternel.
None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him, to uncover [their] nakedness: I [am] the LORD.
7 Tu ne découvriras point la nudité de ton père, ni la nudité de ta mère; c'est ta mère, tu ne découvriras point sa nudité.
The nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover: she [is] thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.
8 Tu ne découvriras point la nudité de la femme de ton père; c'est la nudité de ton père.
The nakedness of thy father’s wife shalt thou not uncover: it [is] thy father’s nakedness.
9 Tu ne découvriras point la nudité de ta sœur, fille de ton père, ou fille de ta mère, née dans la maison ou née hors de la maison.
The nakedness of thy sister, the daughter of thy father, or daughter of thy mother, [whether she be] born at home, or born abroad, [even] their nakedness thou shalt not uncover.
10 Tu ne découvriras point la nudité de la fille de ton fils ou de la fille de ta fille; car c'est ta nudité.
The nakedness of thy son’s daughter, or of thy daughter’s daughter, [even] their nakedness thou shalt not uncover: for theirs [is] thine own nakedness.
11 Tu ne découvriras point la nudité de la fille de la femme de ton père, engendrée par ton père; car c'est ta sœur, tu ne découvriras point sa nudité.
The nakedness of thy father’s wife’s daughter, begotten of thy father, she [is] thy sister, thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.
12 Tu ne découvriras point la nudité de la sœur de ton père, car c'est le sang de ton père.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father’s sister: she [is] thy father’s near kinswoman.
13 Tu ne découvriras point la nudité de la sœur de ta mère, car c'est le sang de ta mère.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother’s sister: for she [is] thy mother’s near kinswoman.
14 Tu ne découvriras point la nudité du frère de ton père; tu ne t'approcheras point de sa femme: c'est ta tante.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father’s brother, thou shalt not approach to his wife: she [is] thine aunt.
15 Tu ne découvriras point la nudité de ta bru; c'est la femme de ton fils, tu ne découvriras point sa nudité.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy daughter in law: she [is] thy son’s wife; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.
16 Tu ne découvriras point la nudité de la femme de ton frère: c'est la nudité de ton frère.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy brother’s wife: it [is] thy brother’s nakedness.
17 Tu ne découvriras point la nudité d'une femme et de sa fille; tu ne prendras ni la fille de son fils, ni la fille de sa fille pour découvrir sa nudité: elles sont du même sang; c'est un attentat.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter, neither shalt thou take her son’s daughter, or her daughter’s daughter, to uncover her nakedness; [for] they [are] her near kinswomen: it [is] wickedness.
18 Ne prends pas une sœur avec sa sœur, pour exciter la rivalité et découvrir sa nudité à côté d'elle de son vivant.
Neither shalt thou take a wife to her sister, to vex [her], to uncover her nakedness, beside the other in her life [time].
19 Tu ne t'approcheras point d'une femme pendant son impureté menstruelle pour découvrir sa nudité.
Also thou shalt not approach unto a woman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is put apart for her uncleanness.
20 Tu n'auras point commerce avec la femme de ton prochain, pour te souiller avec elle.
Moreover thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbour’s wife, to defile thyself with her.
21 Tu ne consentiras point à faire passer aucun de tes enfants à Moloch, afin de ne pas profaner le nom de ton Dieu. Je suis l'Éternel.
And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through [the fire] to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I [am] the LORD.
22 Et tu n'auras point commerce avec un homme comme on a commerce avec une femme; c'est une abomination.
Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it [is] abomination.
23 Tu n'auras commerce avec aucun animal pour te souiller par là, et une femme ne se livrera point à un animal pour s'accoupler avec lui; c'est une horreur.
Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it [is] confusion.
24 Ne vous souillez par aucune de ces choses, car c'est par tout cela que se sont souillées les nations que je vais expulser devant vous.
Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:
25 C'est par là que le pays s'est souillé, aussi je lui fais porter la peine de son crime, et il vomit ses habitants.
And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.
26 Gardez donc mes statuts et mes lois, et ne commettez aucune de ces abominations, ni l'indigène, ni l'étranger en séjour chez vous.
Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit [any] of these abominations; [neither] any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you:
27 Car toutes ces abominations ont été commises par les hommes du pays qui vous y ont précédés, et le pays a été souillé;
(For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which [were] before you, and the land is defiled; )
28 et que le pays ne vous vomisse pas parce que vous le souillez, comme il vomit les nations qui vous ont précédés.
That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that [were] before you.
29 Car tous ceux qui commettront quelqu'une de ces abominations, les personnes qui s'y adonneront, seront éliminées du sein de leurs tribus.
For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit [them] shall be cut off from among their people.
30 Observez donc ce que vous avez à observer envers moi, afin de ne pratiquer aucun de ces abominables usages pratiqués avant vous, et de ne point vous souiller par là. Je suis l'Éternel, votre Dieu.
Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that [ye] commit not [any one] of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I [am] the LORD your God.
