Josué 19
1 Et le second lot tiré fut pour Siméon, pour la Tribu des fils de Siméon selon leurs familles, et leur lot était enclavé dans le lot des fils de Juda.
The second/next tribe that was allotted land was the tribe of Simeon. Each clan in that tribe was allotted some land that was inside the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Judah.
2 Et dans leur lot entrait Béer-Séba et Séba et Molada
Their land included the towns of Beersheba ([which is also named] Sheba), Moladah,
3 et Hatsar-Sual, et Bala et Atsem
Hazar-Shual, Balah, Ezem,
4 et Eltholad et Bethul et Horma,
Eltolad, Bethul, Hormah,
5 et Tsiklag et Beth-Marecaboth, et Hatsar-Sussa,
Ziklag, Beth-Marcaboth. Hazar-Susah,
6 et Beth-Lebaoth et Saruhen: treize villes et leurs villages;
Beth-Lebaoth, and Sharuhen. Altogether there were 13 towns and the surrounding villages.
7 Aïn, Rimmon et Ether, et Asan, quatre villes et leurs villages;
The land allotted to them also included the four cities of Ain, Rimmon, Ether, and Ashan, and their surrounding villages.
8 et tous les villages aux environs de ces villes jusqu'à Baalath-Beer, Ramath-Négeb. Tel est le lot de la Tribu des fils de Siméon selon leurs familles.
They were also allotted some very small villages in an area that extended south to Baalath-Beer (which is [also named] Ramah, in the southern desert). That was the land allotted to the clans of the tribe of Simeon.
9 Le lot des fils de Siméon fut pris sur le territoire des fils de Juda, car la portion des fils de Juda était trop grande pour ceux-ci, et c'est ainsi que les fils de Siméon reçurent un lot enclavé dans celui de Juda.
The tribe of Judah had been allotted much more land than they needed, so part of their land was given to the tribe of Simeon.
10 Et le troisième lot tiré fut pour les fils de Zabulon selon leurs familles. Et la limite de leur lot allait jusqu'à Sarid.
The third/next tribe that was allotted land was the tribe of Zebulun. Each clan of that tribe was allotted some of the land. The southern border started at Sarid [city].
11 Et leur frontière montait à l'occident et jusqu'à Mareala et touchait à Dabbeseth et touchait à la rivière qui coule devant Jockneam.
It extended west to Maralah [city] and on to Dabbesheth [city], and on to the brook just north of Jokneam [city].
12 Et de Sarid elle tournait à l'orient vers le levant sur la frontière de Ghisloth-Thabor et continuait jusqu'à Dabrath, puis montait à Japhia.
The border extended east from Sarid to the area near Kisloth-Tabor [city] and on to Daberath [town] and on to Japhia [town].
13 Et de là elle passait à l'orient, au levant à Githa-Hépher, Eth-Katsin, puis continuait jusqu'à Rimmon qui se prolonge jusqu'à Nea,
From there it extended east to Gath-Hepher [city] and Eth-Kazin [town], and north to Rimmon [city]. From there the border extended [west] to Neah [town].
14 autour de laquelle tournant au nord du côté de Hannathon elle allait aboutir dans la vallée de Jiphthah-El.
From Neah it extended south to Hannathon [city] and from there to Iphtah-El Valley.
15 Et Kattath et Nahalal et Simron et Jideala et Beth-Lehem: douze villes avec leurs villages.
Their area included the towns of Kattath, Nahalal, Shimron, Idalah, and Bethlehem. Altogether there were twelve towns and the surrounding villages.
16 Tel est le lot des fils de Zabulon, selon leurs familles, ces villes et leurs villages.
That was the land that was allotted to the clans of the tribe of Zebulun.
17 Le quatrième lot fut tiré pour Issaschar, pour les fils d'Issaschar selon leurs familles.
The fourth/next tribe that was allotted land was the tribe of Issachar. Each of the clans of that tribe was allotted some of the land.
18 Et leur frontière allait jusqu'à Jizréel et Chesulloth et Sunem
Their land included the cities of Jezreel, Kesulloth, Shunem,
19 et Hapharaïm et Sîon et Anaharath
Hapharaim, Shion, Anaharath,
20 et Rabbith et Kisèon et Abets,
Rabbith, Kishion, Ebez,
21 et Remeth et Ein-Gannim et Ein-Hadda et Beth-Patsets.
Remeth, En-Gannim, En-Haddah, and Beth-Pazzez.
22 Et la frontière touchait au Thabor et à Sahatsima et Beth-Semés, et elle aboutissait au Jourdain: seize villes avec leurs villages.
The border of the area that was allotted to the tribe of Issachar was close to Tabor, Shahazumah, and Beth-Shemesh [cities], and ended [in the east] at the Jordan [River]. Altogether there were 16 cities and the surrounding villages.
23 Tel est le lot de la Tribu des fils d'Issaschar, selon leurs familles, leurs villes et leurs villages.
Those cities and villages were in the land allotted to the clans of the tribe of Issachar.
24 Et le cinquième lot tiré fut pour la Tribu des fils d'Asser, selon leurs familles.
The fifth/next tribe that was allotted land was the tribe of Asher. Each of the clans in that tribe was allotted some of the land.
25 Et leur frontière était: Helkath et Hali et Beten et Acsaph
Their land included the towns of Helkath, Hali, Beten, Acshaph,
26 et Allammélech et Amead et Miseal, et elle touchait au Carmel à l'occident et au Sihor-Libnath,
Allammelech, Amad, and Mishal. The western border started at Carmel [Mountain] and Shihor-Libnath.
27 puis elle tournait au levant vers Beth-Dagon et touchait à Zabulon et à la vallée de Jiphthah-El au nord de Beth-Aëmek et de Neïel et se prolongeait vers Chabul à gauche,
From there it extended [southeast] to Beth-Dagon [town], and then to [the area that was allotted to the tribe of] Zebulun and Iphtah-El Valley. From there the border extended east and then north to Beth-Emek [town] and Neiel and Cabul [towns].
28 et vers Ebron et Rehob et Hammon et Kana jusqu'à Sidon, la grande;
From there it extended west to Abdon, Rehob, Hammon, and Kanah [cities], and continued to Sidon, which is a big city.
29 puis la frontière tournait vers Rama, jusqu'à la ville forte de Tyr, ensuite tournait vers Hosa et aboutissait à la mer à partir du district vers Achsib.
From there the border extended south toward Ramah and to the big city of Tyre that had strong walls around it. From there the border extended [west] to Hosah [town] and ended at the [Mediterranean] Sea. Within their area were the towns of Aczib,
30 Et Umma et Aphek et Rehob: vingt-deux villes avec leurs villages.
Ummah, Aphek, and Rehob. Altogether there were 22 towns and their surrounding villages.
31 Tel est le lot de la Tribu des fils d'Asser, selon leurs familles, ces villes-là et leurs villages.
Those cities and villages were within the land that was allotted to the clans of the tribe of Asher.
32 Pour les fils de Nephthali fut tiré le sixième lot, pour les fils de Nephthali selon leurs familles.
The sixth/next tribe that was allotted land was the tribe of Naphtali. Each of the clans in that tribe was allotted some of the land.
33 Et leur frontière s'étendait depuis Heleph, depuis le chêne près de Tsaenannim et Adami-Nekeb et Jabnéel jusqu'à Laccum pour aboutir au Jourdain.
The border of their land started [in the west] at the [huge] oak tree at Zaanannim, near Heleph [town]. It extended [east] through Adami-Nekeb [city] and Jabneel, and then to Lakkum, and ended at the Jordan [River].
34 Et la frontière tournait à l'occident vers Aznoth-Thabor et de là courait à Huccoc et touchait à Zabulon au midi, et à Asser à l'occident et à Juda sur le Jourdain du côté du levant.
The western boundary extended through Aznoth-Tabor as far as Hukkok [city]. It extended to the borders of [the tribe of] Zebulun at the south, to [the border of the tribe of] Asher on the west, and the Jordan [River] at the east.
35 Villes fortes: Tsiddim, Tser et Hammath, Raccath et Chinnereth
[Within their land were] several cities with strong walls around them. They were Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath, Kinnereth,
36 et Adama et Rama et Hatsor
Adamah, Ramah, Hazor,
37 et Kédès, Edreï et Ein-Hatsor
Kedesh, Edrei, En-Hazor,
38 et Jiréon et Migdal-El, Horem et Beth-Anath et Beth-Semès: dix-neuf villes avec leurs villages.
Iron, Migdal-El, Horem, Beth-Anath, and Beth-Shemesh. Altogether there were 19 cities and the surrounding villages.
39 Tel est le lot de la Tribu des fils de Nephthali selon leurs familles, les villes et leurs villages.
Those cities and surrounding villages were in the land that was allotted to the clans of the tribe of Naphtali.
40 Le septième lot fut tiré pour la Tribu des fils de Dan selon leurs familles.
The seventh/last tribe that was allotted land was the tribe of Dan. Each of the clans in that tribe was allotted some of the land.
41 Et la frontière de leur lot était Tsorea et Esthaol et Ir-Semes,
Their land included the towns of Zorah, Eshtaol, Ir-Shemesh,
42 et Sahélabbim et Ajalon et Jithla
Shaalabbin, Aijalon, Ithlah,
43 et Elon et Thimnata et Ecron
Elon, Timnah, Ekron,
44 et Elthékè et Gibethon et Baalath
Eltekeh, Gibbethon, Baalath,
45 et Jehud et Bnei-Berak et Gath-Rimmon
Jehud, Bene-Berak, Gath-Rimmon,
46 et Mei-Jarcon et Rakkon avec le territoire vis-à-vis de Japho.
Me-Jarkon, Rakkon, and the area near Joppa.
47 Et le territoire des fils de Dan s'étendit au delà de leurs limites, et les fils de Dan se mirent en campagne, et ils attaquèrent Lesem et la prirent, et ils la frappèrent avec le tranchant de l'épée, et en prirent possession et s'y établirent et l'appelèrent Lesem-Dan, du nom de Dan, leur père.
But the people of the tribe of Dan were unable to take control of the land that had been allotted to them. So they went [northeast] and fought against the people in Leshem [city]. They defeated and killed all the people who lived there. Then they began to live in Leshem, and changed the name of the city to Dan, the man from whom their tribe descended.
48 Tel est le lot de la Tribu des fils de Dan, selon leurs familles, ces villes-là et leurs villages.
All of those towns and surrounding villages were in the land that was allotted to the clans in the tribe of Dan.
49 Et lorsqu'ils eurent achevé de répartir le pays selon ses limites, les enfants d'Israël donnèrent à Josué, fils de Nun, une propriété au milieu d'eux.
After the Israeli leaders divided the land among the tribes, they allotted some land to Joshua.
50 Sur l'ordre de l'Éternel, ils lui donnèrent la ville qu'il demandait, Thimnath-Sera, dans la montagne d'Ephraïm. Et il rebâtit la ville et s'y établit.
They allotted to him Timnath-Serah. Yahweh had said that he could have whatever city he wanted, and that was the city that he chose. It was in the hilly region which was allotted to the tribe of Ephraim. Joshua rebuilt the city and lived there.
51 Tels sont les lots que distribuèrent le Prêtre Eléazar et Josué, fils de Nun, et les Chefs de famille des Tribus des enfants d'Israël par le sort à Silo devant l'Éternel à l'entrée de la Tente du Rendez-vous, et ainsi fut terminé le partage du pays.
Those were the areas that were allotted to the various tribes of Israel. Eleazar the Supreme Priest and Joshua and the leaders of each tribe divided up the land while they were all at Shiloh, by (casting lots/throwing marked stones) [to decide which area each tribe would receive]. They did that while Yahweh was watching, at the entrance of the Sacred Tent. In that way they completed dividing up the land.
