Josué 18

1 Et toute l'Assemblée des enfants d'Israël fut convoquée à Silo, et ils y dressèrent la Tente du Rendez-vous, le pays se trouvant soumis devant eux.

And the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at Shiloh, and set up the tabernacle of the congregation there. And the land was subdued before them.

2 Et parmi les enfants d'Israël il restait sept Tribus auxquelles on n'avait pas distribué leurs lots.

And there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes, which had not yet received their inheritance.

3 Alors Josué dit aux enfants d'Israël: Jusques à quand montrerez-vous cette nonchalance à venir occuper le pays que l'Éternel, Dieu de vos pères, vous a donné?

And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long [are] ye slack to go to possess the land, which the LORD God of your fathers hath given you?

4 Faites votre choix de trois hommes par Tribu afin que je les délègue et qu'ils se mettent en route et parcourent le pays pour en dresser par écrit l'état en raison de leur lot et ensuite me rejoindre.

Give out from among you three men for [each] tribe: and I will send them, and they shall rise, and go through the land, and describe it according to the inheritance of them; and they shall come [again] to me.

5 Et partagez-vous-le en sept portions. Juda est maintenu dans son territoire au midi et la maison de Joseph dans son territoire au nord.

And they shall divide it into seven parts: Judah shall abide in their coast on the south, and the house of Joseph shall abide in their coasts on the north.

6 Or vous dresserez par écrit cet état du pays en sept parties, puis vous me l'apporterez ici, et je tirerai au sort pour vous ici devant l'Éternel, notre Dieu.

Ye shall therefore describe the land [into] seven parts, and bring [the description] hither to me, that I may cast lots for you here before the LORD our God.

7 Car les Lévites n'ont aucune portion parmi vous, parce que le sacerdoce de l'Éternel est leur lot; et Gad et Ruben et la demi-Tribu de Manassé ont reçu leur lot au delà du Jourdain, au levant, lorsque Moïse, serviteur de l'Éternel, le leur a donné.

But the Levites have no part among you; for the priesthood of the LORD [is] their inheritance: and Gad, and Reuben, and half the tribe of Manasseh, have received their inheritance beyond Jordan on the east, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave them.

8 Alors ces hommes se mirent en devoir et partirent. Et Josué donna à ceux qui allaient dresser par écrit l'état du pays ses ordres en ces termes: Allez et parcourez le pays et dressez-en l'état par écrit; puis venez me rejoindre, et ici je tirerai au sort pour vous devant l'Éternel à Silo.

And the men arose, and went away: and Joshua charged them that went to describe the land, saying, Go and walk through the land, and describe it, and come again to me, that I may here cast lots for you before the LORD in Shiloh.

9 Ces hommes partirent donc, et ils firent leurs courses dans le pays et en transcrivirent l'état, divisé d'après les villes en sept parties, dans un registre; puis ils rejoignirent Josué dans le camp à Silo.

And the men went and passed through the land, and described it by cities into seven parts in a book, and came [again] to Joshua to the host at Shiloh.

10 Alors Josué tira pour eux au sort à Silo devant l'Éternel. Ainsi Josué y répartit le pays aux enfants d'Israël selon leurs divisions.

And Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before the LORD: and there Joshua divided the land unto the children of Israel according to their divisions.

11 Et un lot fut tiré pour la Tribu des fils de Benjamin selon leurs familles. Et les limites de leur lot étaient comprises entre les fils de Juda et les fils de Joseph.

And the lot of the tribe of the children of Benjamin came up according to their families: and the coast of their lot came forth between the children of Judah and the children of Joseph.

12 Et au côté nord leur frontière partait du Jourdain, puis s'élevant sur le versant septentrional de Jéricho elle atteignait la montagne vers l'occident pour aboutir au désert de Beth-Aven.

And their border on the north side was from Jordan; and the border went up to the side of Jericho on the north side, and went up through the mountains westward; and the goings out thereof were at the wilderness of Beth-aven.

13 De là elle continuait jusqu'à Luz, au versant méridional de Luz, c'est-à-dire, de Béthel, puis descendait à Ataroth-Addar sur la montagne située au midi de Beth-Horon la basse.

And the border went over from thence toward Luz, to the side of Luz, which [is] Beth-el, southward; and the border descended to Ataroth-adar, near the hill that [lieth] on the south side of the nether Beth-horon.

14 Puis elle suivait une ligne tournant du côté de l'occident au midi de la montagne située en face de Beth-Horon au midi pour aboutir à Kiriath-Baal, c'est-à-dire, Kiriath-Jearim, ville des fils de Juda. C'est le côté occidental.

And the border was drawn [thence], and compassed the corner of the sea southward, from the hill that [lieth] before Beth-horon southward; and the goings out thereof were at Kirjath-baal, which [is] Kirjath-jearim, a city of the children of Judah: this [was] the west quarter.

15 Et le côté méridional commençait à l'extrémité de Kiriath-Jearim, et la frontière courait à l'occident pour arriver à la Fontaine des Eaux de Nephthoah, puis elle descendait au bout de la montagne située devant la vallée des fils de Hinnom, dans la vallée de Rephaïm au nord,

And the south quarter [was] from the end of Kirjath-jearim, and the border went out on the west, and went out to the well of waters of Nephtoah:

16 et descendait dans la vallée de Hinnom, au versant méridional des Jébusites, descendant encore jusqu'à la Fontaine de l'Espion,

And the border came down to the end of the mountain that [lieth] before the valley of the son of Hinnom, [and] which [is] in the valley of the giants on the north, and descended to the valley of Hinnom, to the side of Jebusi on the south, and descended to En-rogel,

17 puis elle se dirigeait au nord et courait vers la Fontaine du Soleil, et de là vers Geliloth située vis-à-vis de la hauteur d'Adummim et descendait à la Pierre de Bohan, fils de Ruben,

And was drawn from the north, and went forth to En-shemesh, and went forth toward Geliloth, which [is] over against the going up of Adummim, and descended to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben,

18 et elle continuait au côté septentrional devant Araba et descendait vers Araba,

And passed along toward the side over against Arabah northward, and went down unto Arabah:

19 et passait au côté septentrional de Beth-Hogla pour aboutir à la pointe septentrionale de la Mer Salée à l'extrémité méridionale du Jourdain. C'est la frontière méridionale.

And the border passed along to the side of Beth-hoglah northward: and the outgoings of the border were at the north bay of the salt sea at the south end of Jordan: this [was] the south coast.

20 Et le Jourdain marque la limite orientale. Tel est le lot des fils de Benjamin, selon leurs frontières dans leur pourtour, selon leurs familles.

And Jordan was the border of it on the east side. This [was] the inheritance of the children of Benjamin, by the coasts thereof round about, according to their families.

21 Et les villes de la Tribu des fils de Benjamin selon leurs familles sont: Jéricho, Beth-Hogla, Hémek, Ketsits,

Now the cities of the tribe of the children of Benjamin according to their families were Jericho, and Beth-hoglah, and the valley of Keziz,

22 Beth-Araba, Tsémaraïm, Béthel,

And Beth-arabah, and Zemaraim, and Beth-el,

23 Avvim, Para, Ophra,

And Avim, and Parah, and Ophrah,

24 Kephar, Ammonaï, Ophni et Geba: douze villes et leurs villages;

And Chephar-haammonai, and Ophni, and Gaba; twelve cities with their villages:

25 Gabaon, Rama, Beéroth,

Gibeon, and Ramah, and Beeroth,

26 Mitspeh, Kephîra, Motsa,

And Mizpeh, and Chephirah, and Mozah,

27 Rekem, Jirpéel, Thareala;

And Rekem, and Irpeel, and Taralah,

28 et Tsela, Eleph, Jébus, c'est-à-dire, Jérusalem, Gibeath, Kiriath: quatorze villes et leurs villages. Tel est le lot des fils de Benjamin selon leurs familles.

And Zelah, Eleph, and Jebusi, which [is] Jerusalem, Gibeath, [and] Kirjath; fourteen cities with their villages. This [is] the inheritance of the children of Benjamin according to their families.
