Osée 8
1 Embouche la trompette! Comme un aigle, [il fond] sur la maison de l'Éternel, parce qu'ils ont violé mon alliance et déserté ma loi.
[Set] the trumpet to thy mouth. [He shall come] as an eagle against the house of the LORD, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.
2 Ils me crieront: Mon Dieu! nous, Israël, nous te reconnaissons.
Israel shall cry unto me, My God, we know thee.
3 Israël a répudié le bien; l'ennemi le poursuivra.
Israel hath cast off [the thing that is] good: the enemy shall pursue him.
4 Ils ont élu des rois, mais non pas de par moi, et des princes, mais à mon insu. De leur argent et de leur or ils se sont fait des idoles, pour être détruits.
They have set up kings, but not by me: they have made princes, and I knew [it] not: of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.
5 Odieux est ton veau, Samarie! Ma colère s'allume contre eux; combien de temps seront-ils incapables d'innocence?
Thy calf, O Samaria, hath cast [thee] off; mine anger is kindled against them: how long [will it be] ere they attain to innocency?
6 Car c'est d'Israël qu'il vient aussi; un sculpteur l'a fait, et ce n'est pas un Dieu. Car il sera mis en pièces, le veau de Samarie.
For from Israel [was] it also: the workman made it; therefore it [is] not God: but the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.
7 Car ils sèment du vent, et moissonnent la tempête: ils n'ont point de blé, et le grain ne donne point de farine; en donnât-il, des étrangers la consumeraient.
For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk: the bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up.
8 Israël est consumé; maintenant ils sont parmi les peuples comme un vase dont personne ne fait cas.
Israel is swallowed up: now shall they be among the Gentiles as a vessel wherein [is] no pleasure.
9 Car ils vont en Assyrie: l'onagre se suffit seul à lui-même, Éphraïm se fait par des dons gagner des amants.
For they are gone up to Assyria, a wild ass alone by himself: Ephraim hath hired lovers.
10 Puisqu'ils font répandre leurs dons parmi les peuples, je rassemblerai ceux-ci, qui dans peu les délivreront du fardeau d'être roi, d'être princes.
Yea, though they have hired among the nations, now will I gather them, and they shall sorrow a little for the burden of the king of princes.
11 Car Éphraïm a multiplié ses autels pour pécher, et ces autels sont devenus un péché pour lui.
Because Ephraim hath made many altars to sin, altars shall be unto him to sin.
12 J'avais écrit pour lui mes lois par milliers; elles sont estimées comme choses étrangères.
I have written to him the great things of my law, [but] they were counted as a strange thing.
13 Ils font des sacrifices de mes offrandes, ils sacrifient la chair et en mangent; l'Éternel n'y prend point de plaisir. Maintenant Il se rappelle leur crime et punit leurs péchés; ils retourneront en Egypte.
They sacrifice flesh [for] the sacrifices of mine offerings, and eat [it; but] the LORD accepteth them not; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt.
14 Et Israël a oublié son créateur et bâti des palais, et Juda a élevé nombre de villes fortes; mais j'enverrai le feu dans leurs villes, et il dévorera leurs palais.
For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and buildeth temples; and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.
