Ézéchiel 37
1 La main de l'Éternel se fit sentir à moi, et l'Éternel m'emmena en esprit, et me déposa dans le milieu de la vallée. Or elle était remplie d'ossements;
One day Yahweh gave me another vision. In the vision I felt the power [MTY] of God on me, and by his Spirit he took me to the middle of a valley. It was full of bones [of people who had been killed].
2 et Il m'en fit faire le tour, tout le tour, et voici, il y en avait beaucoup sur le sol de la vallée, et voici, ils étaient extrêmement secs.
He led me to walk back and forth among those bones. I saw that there were very many bones there, bones that were very dry.
3 Et Il me dit: Fils de l'homme, ces ossements reprendront-ils vie? Et je dis: Seigneur Éternel, c'est toi qui le sais!
He asked me, “You human, [do you think that] these bones can become living [people again]?” I replied, “Yahweh my Lord, only you know [if that can happen].”
4 Et Il me dit: Prophétise sur ces ossements et dis-leur: Ossements desséchés, entendez la parole de l'Éternel!
Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones. Say to them, ‘You dry bones, listen to what Yahweh says.
5 Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel, à ces ossements: Voici, j'introduirai en vous un esprit, afin que vous repreniez vie;
This is what Yahweh the Lord says to you bones: I will put my breath into each of you, and you will become alive again.
6 et je vous donnerai des nerfs, et ferai croître sur vous de la chair, et vous recouvrirai de peau, et je mettrai en vous un esprit, afin que vous repreniez vie, et que vous sachiez que je suis l'Éternel.
I will fasten tendons to your bones, and cause your bones to be covered with flesh. I will cover the flesh with skin. Then I will breathe into you, and you will become alive. When that happens, you will know that I, Yahweh, [have the power to do what I say that I will do].’”
7 Et je prophétisai suivant l'ordre qui m'en était donné. Et pendant que je prophétisais, voici, il se fit un bruissement et une rumeur, et les os s'assemblèrent, os avec os.
So I spoke to the bones what Yahweh commanded me to speak. As I was speaking, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bones joining to each other.
8 Et je regardai, et voici, il leur vint des nerfs, la chair crût, et une peau les recouvrit par dessus, mais un esprit ne les pénétrait pas.
While I was looking, I saw tendons fastening to them and flesh covering them, and then skin covered the flesh, but they did not breathe.
9 Et Il me dit: Adresse la prophétie à l'esprit; prophétise, fils de l'homme, et dis à l'esprit: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Esprit, arrive des quatre vents, et pénètre ces morts, afin qu'ils reprennent vie!
Then he said to me, “You human, prophesy to the wind. Say to the wind, ‘Wind [APO], Yahweh says to you, blow from all four directions. Breathe into these people who have been killed, in order that they can become alive again!’”
10 Et je prophétisai selon l'ordre qui m'était donné, et l'esprit les pénétra et ils reprirent vie, et ils se tinrent sur leurs pieds; c'était une grande, très grande multitude.
So I said what he commanded me to say, and then breath entered them. They became alive and stood up, like a huge army.
11 Et Il me dit: Fils de l'homme, ces ossements, c'est toute la maison d'Israël. Voici, ils disent: « Nos ossements sont desséchés, et notre espoir s'est évanoui, nous sommes anéantis! »
Then he said to me, “You human, these bones represent all the Israeli people [MTY]. The people say, ‘[It is as though] our bones are dried up; there are no more good things that we can (hope for/confidently expect to happen to us); our nation is destroyed/finished.’
12 Prophétise donc et dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Voici, j'ouvrirai vos tombeaux et vous ferai sortir de vos tombeaux, ô mon peuple, et je vous ramènerai au pays d'Israël;
So prophesy and say to them, ‘This is what Yahweh the Lord says: My people, [it will be as though] I will open your graves and cause your corpses to become alive again. I will bring you back to Israel.
13 et vous reconnaîtrez que je suis l'Éternel, quand j'ouvrirai vos tombeaux, et que je vous ferai, ô mon peuple, sortir de vos tombeaux;
Then, what that happens, you my people will know that I, Yahweh the Lord, [have the power to do what I say that I will do].
14 et je mettrai mon esprit en vous, afin que vous repreniez vie, et je vous établirai dans votre pays, afin que vous reconnaissiez que c'est moi, l'Éternel, qui l'aurai dit et fait, dit l'Éternel.
I will put my Spirit in you, and [it will be as though] you will become alive again, and I will enable you to live in your own land again. Then you will know that it is I, Yahweh, who said [that it would happen] and who has caused it to happen. That is what I, Yahweh, declare.’”
15 Et la parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée en ces mots:
Yahweh gave me [another] message. He said,
16 Toi, fils de l'homme, prends une pièce de bois, et inscris-y: « Pour Juda et les enfants d'Israël qui lui sont associés. » Prends encore une pièce de bois, et inscris-y: « Pour Joseph, bois d'Éphraïm et de toute la maison d'Israël qui lui est associée. »
“You human, take a piece of wood and write on it, ‘This represents Judah and all the tribes of Judah.’ Then take another piece of wood and write on it, ‘This represents Israel and all the tribes of Israel.’
17 Et rapproche-les l'une de l'autre pour en former une seule pièce, afin qu'elles ne fassent qu'un en ta main.
Then join them together to become [as though they were] one piece of wood in your hand.
18 Et quand les enfants de ton peuple te diront: « Ne nous expliqueras-tu pas ce que cela signifie? »
When your fellow Israelis ask you, ‘What does (this action/what you just did) mean?’,
19 disleur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Voici, je prendrai le bois de Joseph qui est entre les mains d'Éphraïm, et les tribus d'Israël qui lui sont associées, et je l'assemblerai avec lui, avec le bois de Juda, et j'en formerai une seule pièce, afin qu'ils ne fassent qu'un en ma main.
tell them, ‘This is what Yahweh the Lord says: One of the pieces of wood in my hand represents Israel and all the tribes of Israel. I am joining it to the piece of wood that represents Judah, to form one piece of wood in his hand.’
20 Et tu tiendras en ta main sous leurs yeux les pièces de bois où tu auras mis l'inscription,
Then, [you human], hold up the pieces of wood that you have written on, in order that the people can see them.
21 et tu leur diras: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Voici, je retirerai les enfants d'Israël d'entre les peuples au milieu desquels ils vivent, et je les rassemblerai de toutes parts, et les ramènerai dans leur pays;
Say to the people, ‘This is what Yahweh the Lord says: I will take you Israeli people out of the countries to which you have been forced to go. I will gather you from all those nations and bring you back to your own land.
22 et je ferai d'eux un seul peuple dans le pays, sur les montagnes d'Israël; et un seul roi sera le roi d'eux tous; et ils ne formeront plus deux peuples, et ne se diviseront plus en deux royaumes;
And I will cause you to again be one nation in that land, on the mountains in Israel. And there will be one king to rule over all of you. Never again will you be two nations or divided into two kingdoms.
23 et ils ne se souilleront plus par leurs abominations, et leurs infamies, et tous leurs péchés; et je les délivrerai de toutes les demeures où ils ont péché, et je les purifierai; et ils seront mon peuple, et je serai leur Dieu:
No longer will you (defile yourselves/make yourselves unacceptable to me) by [worshiping] idols and disgusting statues [of your gods], because I will enable you to quit your sinful behavior and to stop rejecting me. You will be my people, and I will be your God.
24 et mon serviteur David sera leur roi, et leur seul pasteur pour eux tous; et ils suivront mes lois et garderont mes commandements, et les pratiqueront;
[Someone who will be like] [MET] [King] David who served [me well] will be the king [of your descendants], and [it will be as though] [MET] he will be their shepherd. They will carefully obey all my laws [DOU].
25 et ils habiteront le pays que j'ai donné à mon serviteur Jacob, où vos pères ont habité, et où ils habiteront, eux et leurs enfants, et les enfants de leurs enfants, éternellement; et David mon serviteur sera leur prince éternellement;
They will live in the land that I gave to Jacob, who also served [me well]; they will live in the land where your ancestors lived. They and their children and their grandchildren will live there forever, and [the one who will be like] [MET] [King] David will be their king forever.
26 et je leur donnerai une alliance de paix; c'est une alliance éternelle qu'ils auront; et je les établirai, et les ferai se multiplier, et fixerai mon sanctuaire au milieu d'eux pour l'éternité;
I will make a peace agreement with them; it will be an agreement that will endure forever. I will again give them that land and cause their population to increase. And I will put my temple among them forever.
27 et je demeurerai avec eux, et je serai leur Dieu, et ils seront mon peuple.
The place where I will live will be among them; I will be their God and they will be my people.
28 Et les nations reconnaîtront que je suis l'Éternel qui sanctifie Israël, quand mon sanctuaire sera au milieu d'eux pour l'éternité.
Then, when my temple is forever there among them, the people of other nations will know that I, Yahweh, have caused the Israeli people to be set apart [to belong to me].’”
