Ézéchiel 10

1 Puis je regardai, et voici, sur le firmament qui était au-dessus de la tête des Chérubins, il y avait comme une pierre de saphir, et au-dessus d'elle on voyait une forme qui avait l'air d'un trône.

Then I looked, and, behold, in the firmament that was above the head of the cherubims there appeared over them as it were a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne.

2 Et [l'Éternel] parla à l'homme vêtu de lin et lui dit: Va dans l'intervalle des roues sous les Chérubins, et remplis tes mains des charbons ardents qui sont entre les Chérubins, et répands-les sur la ville. Et il y alla sous mes yeux.

And he spake unto the man clothed with linen, and said, Go in between the wheels, [even] under the cherub, and fill thine hand with coals of fire from between the cherubims, and scatter [them] over the city. And he went in in my sight.

3 Or les Chérubins se trouvaient à droite de la maison, quand l'homme alla, et la nuée remplit le parvis intérieur.

Now the cherubims stood on the right side of the house, when the man went in; and the cloud filled the inner court.

4 Alors la gloire de l'Éternel s'élevant de dessus les Chérubins, se porta vers le seuil de la maison, et la maison fut remplie de la nuée, et le parvis fut rempli de la splendeur de la gloire de l'Éternel.

Then the glory of the LORD went up from the cherub, [and stood] over the threshold of the house; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the LORD’s glory.

5 Et le bruit des ailes des Chérubins se fit entendre jusqu'au parvis extérieur, tel que la voix du Dieu tout-puissant, quand Il parle.

And the sound of the cherubims’ wings was heard [even] to the outer court, as the voice of the Almighty God when he speaketh.

6 Et quand Il eut donné cet ordre à l'homme vêtu de lin: Prends du feu dans l'intervalle des roues entre les Chérubins! il vint et se plaça près des roues.

And it came to pass, [that] when he had commanded the man clothed with linen, saying, Take fire from between the wheels, from between the cherubims; then he went in, and stood beside the wheels.

7 Alors un Chérubin étendit sa main entre les Chérubins vers le feu qui était entre les Chérubins, et il en prit, et le mit dans les mains de l'homme vêtu de lin, qui le prit, et sortit.

And [one] cherub stretched forth his hand from between the cherubims unto the fire that [was] between the cherubims, and took [thereof], and put [it] into the hands of [him that was] clothed with linen: who took [it], and went out.

8 Et on voyait aux Chérubins une forme de main d'homme sous leurs ailes.

And there appeared in the cherubims the form of a man’s hand under their wings.

9 Puis je regardai, et voici, il y avait quatre roues à côté des Chérubins, une roue à côté de chaque Chérubin, et l'aspect des roues était celui d'une pierre de Tarsis.

And when I looked, behold the four wheels by the cherubims, one wheel by one cherub, and another wheel by another cherub: and the appearance of the wheels [was] as the colour of a beryl stone.

10 Et à les voir, c'était une seule forme pour les quatre, comme si une roue traversait l'autre roue.

And [as for] their appearances, they four had one likeness, as if a wheel had been in the midst of a wheel.

11 Dans leur marche elles suivaient la direction de leurs quatre côtés, elles ne se tournaient point dans leur marche, mais elles allaient du côté où la tête était tournée; elles ne se tournaient pas dans leur marche.

When they went, they went upon their four sides; they turned not as they went, but to the place whither the head looked they followed it; they turned not as they went.

12 Et tout leur corps, et leur dos, et leurs mains, et leurs ailes, et les roues étaient pleins d'yeux tout autour, à chacun des quatre, et leurs roues aussi.

And their whole body, and their backs, and their hands, and their wings, and the wheels, [were] full of eyes round about, [even] the wheels that they four had.

13 Quant aux roues, elles furent appelées tourbillon à mes oreilles.

As for the wheels, it was cried unto them in my hearing, O wheel.

14 Et ils avaient chacun quatre faces; la face du premier était une face de Chérubin, et la face du second une face d'homme, et celle du troisième une face de lion, et celle du quatrième une face d'aigle.

And every one had four faces: the first face [was] the face of a cherub, and the second face [was] the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.

15 Et les Chérubins s'élevèrent. C'étaient les animaux que j'avais vus près du fleuve Chébar.

And the cherubims were lifted up. This [is] the living creature that I saw by the river of Chebar.

16 Et quand les Chérubins allaient, les roues allaient à côté d'eux, et quand les Chérubins soulevaient leurs ailes pour s'élever de terre, les roues aussi ne s'écartaient point d'eux.

And when the cherubims went, the wheels went by them: and when the cherubims lifted up their wings to mount up from the earth, the same wheels also turned not from beside them.

17 Quand ils s'arrêtaient, elles s'arrêtaient, et quand ils s'élevaient, elles s'élevaient avec eux; car l'esprit des animaux était en elles.

When they stood, [these] stood; and when they were lifted up, [these] lifted up themselves [also: ] for the spirit of the living creature [was] in them.

18 Or la gloire de l'Éternel ayant quitté le seuil de la maison, s'arrêta sur les Chérubins.

Then the glory of the LORD departed from off the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubims.

19 Et les Chérubins soulevèrent leurs ailes, et s'élevèrent de terre sous mes yeux; à leur sortie les roues les accompagnaient. Et ils s'arrêtèrent à l'ouverture de la porte de la maison de l'Éternel à l'orient, et la gloire du Dieu d'Israël reposait sur eux d'en haut.

And the cherubims lifted up their wings, and mounted up from the earth in my sight: when they went out, the wheels also [were] beside them, and [every one] stood at the door of the east gate of the LORD’s house; and the glory of the God of Israel [was] over them above.

20 C'étaient les animaux que j'avais vus au-dessous du Dieu d'Israël, près du fleuve Chébar, et je reconnus que c'étaient des Chérubins.

This [is] the living creature that I saw under the God of Israel by the river of Chebar; and I knew that they [were] the cherubims.

21 Chacun d'eux avait quatre faces, et chacun d'eux avait quatre ailes, et une forme de mains d'homme sous leurs ailes.

Every one had four faces apiece, and every one four wings; and the likeness of the hands of a man [was] under their wings.

22 Et la figure de leurs faces était celle des faces que j'avais vues près du fleuve Chébar, c'était leur air et c'était eux-mêmes. Ils marchaient chacun dans la direction de leurs faces.

And the likeness of their faces [was] the same faces which I saw by the river of Chebar, their appearances and themselves: they went every one straight forward.
