1 Chroniques 12
1 Et voici ceux qui joignirent David à Tsiklag lorsqu'il était encore exclu de la présence de Saül, fils de Kis, et ceux-ci étaient du nombre des braves qui le secondaient à la guerre,
Now these [are] they that came to David to Ziklag, while he yet kept himself close because of Saul the son of Kish: and they [were] among the mighty men, helpers of the war.
2 maniant l'arc de la main droite, et de la gauche lançant des pierres, et décochant des flèches avec l'arc, et du nombre des frères de Saül de Benjamin:
[They were] armed with bows, and could use both the right hand and the left in [hurling] stones and [shooting] arrows out of a bow, [even] of Saul’s brethren of Benjamin.
3 le chef Ahiézer et Joas, fils de Semaa de Gibea, et Jéziel et Pélet, fils d'Azmaveth, et Beracha et Jéhu d'Anathoth,
The chief [was] Ahiezer, then Joash, the sons of Shemaah the Gibeathite; and Jeziel, and Pelet, the sons of Azmaveth; and Berachah, and Jehu the Antothite,
4 et Jismaia de Gabaon, héros entre les trente, et commandant les trente, et Jérémie et Jehaziel et Jochanan et Jozabad, de Gedèra,
And Ismaiah the Gibeonite, a mighty man among the thirty, and over the thirty; and Jeremiah, and Jahaziel, and Johanan, and Josabad the Gederathite,
5 Elouzaï et Jerimoth et Bealia et Semaria et Sephatia, de Haroph,
Eluzai, and Jerimoth, and Bealiah, and Shemariah, and Shephatiah the Haruphite,
6 Elcana et Jissia et Azareël et Joëzer et Jasobeam, Coraïtes,
Elkanah, and Jesiah, and Azareel, and Joezer, and Jashobeam, the Korhites,
7 et Joëla et Zebadia, fils de Jeroham, de Gedor.
And Joelah, and Zebadiah, the sons of Jeroham of Gedor.
8 Et parmi les Gadites vinrent comme transfuges joindre David à la forteresse du désert, des chefs de corps, soldats guerriers, armés de boucliers et de lances, ayant l'air de lions et l'agilité de la gazelle sur les montagnes:
And of the Gadites there separated themselves unto David into the hold to the wilderness men of might, [and] men of war [fit] for the battle, that could handle shield and buckler, whose faces [were like] the faces of lions, and [were] as swift as the roes upon the mountains;
9 Ezer, le chef, Obadia, le second, Eliab, le troisième,
Ezer the first, Obadiah the second, Eliab the third,
10 Mismanna, le quatrième, Jérémie, le cinquième,
Mishmannah the fourth, Jeremiah the fifth,
11 Atthaï, le sixième, Eliel, le septième,
Attai the sixth, Eliel the seventh,
12 Jochanan, le huitième, Elzabad, le neuvième,
Johanan the eighth, Elzabad the ninth,
13 Jérémie, le dixième, Machbanaï, le onzième:
Jeremiah the tenth, Machbanai the eleventh.
14 ils faisaient partie des fils de Gad, officiers de l'armée, de cent l'inférieur, de mille le supérieur.
These [were] of the sons of Gad, captains of the host: one of the least [was] over an hundred, and the greatest over a thousand.
15 Ce furent eux qui passèrent le Jourdain, au premier mois, quand il remplit tout son lit, et mirent en fuite tous les habitants des vallées au levant et au couchant.
These [are] they that went over Jordan in the first month, when it had overflown all his banks; and they put to flight all [them] of the valleys, [both] toward the east, and toward the west.
16 Et des fils de Benjamin et de Juda vinrent aussi joindre David à la forteresse.
And there came of the children of Benjamin and Judah to the hold unto David.
17 Et David sortit à leur rencontre, et prenant la parole, il leur dit: Si vous venez à moi en amis pour m'aider, je m'unirai de cœur à vous, mais si c'est pour me surprendre au profit de mes ennemis, sans qu'il y ait injustice en ma main, que le Dieu de nos pères voie et juge!
And David went out to meet them, and answered and said unto them, If ye be come peaceably unto me to help me, mine heart shall be knit unto you: but if [ye be come] to betray me to mine enemies, seeing [there is] no wrong in mine hands, the God of our fathers look [thereon], and rebuke [it].
18 Alors revêtu d'inspiration Amasaï, chef des triaires: Nous sommes à toi, David, [dit-il] et de ton bord, fils d'Isaï! Salut, salut à toi, et salut à tes aides, car ton Dieu est ton aide! Et David les admit et les plaça comme chefs de bataillons.
Then the spirit came upon Amasai, [who was] chief of the captains, [and he said], Thine [are we], David, and on thy side, thou son of Jesse: peace, peace [be] unto thee, and peace [be] to thine helpers; for thy God helpeth thee. Then David received them, and made them captains of the band.
19 Et de Manassé des transfuges passèrent à David, lorsqu'il allait en guerre contre Saül avec les Philistins, dont il ne resta pas l'auxiliaire, car ensuite d'une délibération les princes des Philistins le congédièrent, se disant: Au prix de nos têtes il passera du côté de son Seigneur Saül.
And there fell [some] of Manasseh to David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle: but they helped them not: for the lords of the Philistines upon advisement sent him away, saying, He will fall to his master Saul to [the jeopardy of] our heads.
20 Lorsqu'il se rendit à Tsiklag, de Manassé lui vinrent en transfuges: Adna et Jozabad et Jediael et Michaël et Jozabad et Elihu et Tsilthaï, chef des mille de Manassé.
As he went to Ziklag, there fell to him of Manasseh, Adnah, and Jozabad, and Jediael, and Michael, and Jozabad, and Elihu, and Zilthai, captains of the thousands that [were] of Manasseh.
21 Et ceux-ci aidèrent David contre les bandes, car ils étaient tous des héros belliqueux, et ils furent officiers supérieurs dans l'armée.
And they helped David against the band [of the rovers: ] for they [were] all mighty men of valour, and were captains in the host.
22 Car journellement il arrivait des auxiliaires à David jusqu'à former une grande armée comme une armée de Dieu.
For at [that] time day by day there came to David to help him, until [it was] a great host, like the host of God.
23 Or voici le nombre par têtes des hommes armés en guerre qui joignirent David à Hébron pour lui déférer la royauté de Saül selon l'ordre de l'Éternel.
And these [are] the numbers of the bands [that were] ready armed to the war, [and] came to David to Hebron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of the LORD.
24 Fils de Juda portant bouclier et lance, six mille et huit cents, armés en guerre;
The children of Judah that bare shield and spear [were] six thousand and eight hundred, ready armed to the war.
25 des fils de Siméon, héros belliqueux pour l'armée, sept mille et cent;
Of the children of Simeon, mighty men of valour for the war, seven thousand and one hundred.
26 des fils de Lévi, quatre mille six cents,
Of the children of Levi four thousand and six hundred.
27 et Joiada, le prince d'Aaron, et avec lui trois mille et sept cents hommes,
And Jehoiada [was] the leader of the Aaronites, and with him [were] three thousand and seven hundred;
28 et Tsadoc, jeune héros brave et sa maison patriarcale, vingt-deux chefs:
And Zadok, a young man mighty of valour, and of his father’s house twenty and two captains.
29 et des fils de Benjamin, frères de Saül, trois mille: c'est que jusqu'alors la plus grande partie d'entre eux adhérait encore à la maison de Saül,
And of the children of Benjamin, the kindred of Saul, three thousand: for hitherto the greatest part of them had kept the ward of the house of Saul.
30 et des fils d'Ephraïm vingt-mille huit cents, héros vaillants, hommes de renom, d'après leurs maisons patriarcales;
And of the children of Ephraim twenty thousand and eight hundred, mighty men of valour, famous throughout the house of their fathers.
31 et de la demi-Tribu de Manassé dix-huit mille désignés nommément pour joindre et faire roi David;
And of the half tribe of Manasseh eighteen thousand, which were expressed by name, to come and make David king.
32 et des fils d'Issaschar experts à comprendre les temps, pour savoir ce qu'Israël avait à faire, leurs chefs au nombre de deux cents et dont tous leurs frères à leurs ordres;
And of the children of Issachar, [which were men] that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them [were] two hundred; and all their brethren [were] at their commandment.
33 de Zabulon ceux qui faisaient les campagnes, équipés pour le combat de toutes les armes de guerre, cinquante mille pour se ranger en bataille avec un cœur non partagé;
Of Zebulun, such as went forth to battle, expert in war, with all instruments of war, fifty thousand, which could keep rank: [they were] not of double heart.
34 et de Nephthali mille chefs accompagnés de trente-sept mille portant bouclier et lance;
And of Naphtali a thousand captains, and with them with shield and spear thirty and seven thousand.
35 et des Danites armés en guerre, vingt-huit mille et six cents;
And of the Danites expert in war twenty and eight thousand and six hundred.
36 et d'Asser quarante mille se mettant en campagne pour se ranger en bataille;
And of Asher, such as went forth to battle, expert in war, forty thousand.
37 et d'au delà le Jourdain, des Rubénites et des Gadites et de la demi-Tribu de Manassé, cent vingt mille avec toutes les armes de guerre pour le combat.
And on the other side of Jordan, of the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and of the half tribe of Manasseh, with all manner of instruments of war for the battle, an hundred and twenty thousand.
38 Tous ces hommes, gens de guerre, se formant en bataille avec, un cœur entier arrivèrent à Hébron pour établir David roi sur tout Israël. Et tout le restant d'Israël était unanime aussi pour faire David roi.
All these men of war, that could keep rank, came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the rest also of Israel [were] of one heart to make David king.
39 Et ils furent là auprès de David trois jours, et mangèrent et burent, car leurs frères les pourvoyaient;
And there they were with David three days, eating and drinking: for their brethren had prepared for them.
40 et ceux aussi qui demeuraient près d'eux jusqu'à Issaschar, Zabulon et Nephthali apportaient des vivres à dos d'ânes et de chameaux et de mulets et de bœufs, des mets de farine, des figues, des raisins secs et du vin, et de l'huile, puis des bœufs et des moutons en abondance; car c'était une joie en Israël.
Moreover they that were nigh them, [even] unto Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, brought bread on asses, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen, [and] meat, meal, cakes of figs, and bunches of raisins, and wine, and oil, and oxen, and sheep abundantly: for [there was] joy in Israel.
