5 Fils de Japheth: Gomer et Magog et Madaï et Javan et Thubal et Mésech et Thiras.

The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.

6 Et les fils de Gomer: Askenaz et Riphath et Thogarma.

And the sons of Gomer; Ashchenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.

7 Et les fils de Javan: Elisa et Tharsisa; les Kitthim et les Dodanim.

And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.

8 Fils de Cham: Cus et Mitsraïm, Put et Canaan;

The sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.

9 et les fils de Cus: Seba et Havilah et Sabtha et Raëma et Sabthecha. Et les fils de Raëma: Schebah et Dedan.

And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabta, and Raamah, and Sabtecha. And the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan.

10 Et Cus engendra Nimrod: celui-ci commença à être un héros sur la terre.

And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be mighty upon the earth.

11 Et Mitsraïm engendra les Ludim et les Anamim et les Lehabim et les Naphtuhim

And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,

13 Et Canaan engendra Sidon, son premier-né, et Heth

The Jebusite also, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite,

15 et le Hévite et l'Arkite et le Sinite

And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,

And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite.

17 Fils de: Sem: Eilam et Assur et Arphachsad et Lud et Aram et Uts et Hul et Géther et Mésech.

The sons of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram, and Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Meshech.

18 Et Arphachsad engendra Sélach, et Sélach engendra Héber.

And Arphaxad begat Shelah, and Shelah begat Eber.

19 Et à Héber naquirent deux fils, le nom de l'un fut Péleg, parce que de son temps la terre fut partagée, le nom de son frère était Joctan.

And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of the one [was] Peleg; because in his days the earth was divided: and his brother’s name [was] Joktan.

20 Et Joctan engendra Almonad et Séleph et Hatsarmaveth et Jara

And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,

21 et Adoram et Uzal et Dicla

Hadoram also, and Uzal, and Diklah,

22 et Ebal et Abimaël et Schébah et Ophir et Havila et Jobab.

And Ebal, and Abimael, and Sheba,

23 Tout autant de fils de Joctan.

And Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab. All these [were] the sons of Joktan.

24 Sem, Arphachsad, Salach,

Shem, Arphaxad, Shelah,

25 Eber, Péleg, Rehu,

Eber, Peleg, Reu,

26 Serug, Nachor, Tharach,

Serug, Nahor, Terah,

27 Abram, c'est-à-dire Abraham.

Abram; the same [is] Abraham.

28 Fils d'Abraham: Isaac et Ismaël.

The sons of Abraham; Isaac, and Ishmael.

29 Suit leur généalogie. Le premier-né d'Ismaël Nébaïoth et Kédar et Adbeël et Mibsam,

These [are] their generations: The firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth; then Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,

30 Misma et Duma, Massa, Hadad et Theima,

Mishma, and Dumah, Massa, Hadad, and Tema,

31 Jethur, Naphis et Kedma. Ce sont les fils d'Ismaël.

Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. These are the sons of Ishmael.

32 Et les fils de Ketura, concubine d'Abraham: elle enfante Zimran et Jocschan et Medan et Midian et Jisbak et Suach. Et les fils de Jocschan: Seba et Dedan.

Now the sons of Keturah, Abraham’s concubine: she bare Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. And the sons of Jokshan; Sheba, and Dedan.

33 Et les fils de Midian: Epha et Epher et Hénoch et Abida et Eldaa. Tout autant de fils de Ketura.

And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Henoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these [are] the sons of Keturah.

34 Et Abraham engendra Isaac. Fils d'Isaac: Esaü et Israël.

And Abraham begat Isaac. The sons of Isaac; Esau and Israel.

35 Fils d'Esaü: Eliphaz, Rehuël et Jeüs et Jaëlam et Coré.

The sons of Esau; Eliphaz, Reuel, and Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah.

36 Fils d'Eliphaz: Theiman et Omar, Tsephi et Gaëtham, Kenaz et Thimnah et Amalek.

The sons of Eliphaz; Teman, and Omar, Zephi, and Gatam, Kenaz, and Timna, and Amalek.

37 Fils de Rehuël: Nachath, Zérach, Samma et Mizza.

The sons of Reuel; Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.

38 Et les fils de Séir: Lotan et Sobal et Tsibeon et Ana et Dison et Etser et Disan.

And the sons of Seir; Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah, and Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan.

39 Et les fils de Lotan: Hori et Homam, et la sœur de Lotan, Thimna.

And the sons of Lotan; Hori, and Homam: and Timna [was] Lotan’s sister.

40 Fils de Sobal: Alian et Manachath et Eibal, Sephi et Onam. Et les fils de Tsibeon: Aia et Ana.

The sons of Shobal; Alian, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shephi, and Onam. And the sons of Zibeon; Aiah, and Anah.

41 Fils d'Ana: Dison. Et les fils de Dison: Hamran et Esban et Jithran et Kéran.

The sons of Anah; Dishon. And the sons of Dishon; Amram, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran.

42 Fils de Etser: Bilhan et Zaëvan, Jaëcan; fils de Disan: Uts et Aran.

The sons of Ezer; Bilhan, and Zavan, [and] Jakan. The sons of Dishan; Uz, and Aran.

43 Et suivent les rois qui régnèrent au pays d'Edom avant que des rois régnassent sur les enfants d'Israël. Béla, fils de Beor, et le nom de sa ville était Dinhaba.

Now these [are] the kings that reigned in the land of Edom before [any] king reigned over the children of Israel; Bela the son of Beor: and the name of his city [was] Dinhabah.

44 Et Béla mourut et en sa place régna Jobab, fils de Zérach, de Botsra.

And when Bela was dead, Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead.

45 Et Jobab mourut et en sa place régna Husam, du pays des Theimanites.

And when Jobab was dead, Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his stead.

46 Et Husam mourut et en sa place régna Hadad, fils de Bedad, qui battit les Madianites dans les campagnes de Moab; et le nom de sa ville était Avvith.

And when Husham was dead, Hadad the son of Bedad, which smote Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his stead: and the name of his city [was] Avith.

47 Et Hadad mourut et en sa place régna Samla de Masréca.

And when Hadad was dead, Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead.

48 Et Samla mourut et Saül, de Rechoboth sur le Fleuve, régna en sa place.

And when Samlah was dead, Shaul of Rehoboth by the river reigned in his stead.

49 Et Saül mourut et en sa place régna Baal-Chanan, fils d'Achbor.

And when Shaul was dead, Baal-hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his stead.

50 Et Baal-Chanan mourut, et en sa place régna Hadad, et le nom de sa ville était Pahi et le nom de sa femme Mehètabeël, fille de Matred, fille de Meizahab.

And when Baal-hanan was dead, Hadad reigned in his stead: and the name of his city [was] Pai; and his wife’s name [was] Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.

51 Et Hadad mourut. Et il y eut des princes en Edom: le prince de Thimna, le prince d'Alia, le prince de Jetheth,

Hadad died also. And the dukes of Edom were; duke Timnah, duke Aliah, duke Jetheth,

52 le prince d'Oolibama, le prince d'Ela, le prince de Pinon,

Duke Aholibamah, duke Elah, duke Pinon,

53 le prince de Kenaz, le prince de Theiman, le prince de Mibtsar,

Duke Kenaz, duke Teman, duke Mibzar,

54 le prince de Magdiel, le prince d'Iram. Tels sont les princes d'Edom.

Duke Magdiel, duke Iram. These [are] the dukes of Edom.
