Psaumes 65

1 O Dieu, la louange t'attend dans Sion; là seront rendus les vœux qu'on t'a faits.

For the end, a Psalm [and] Song of David. Praise becomes thee, O God, in Sion; and to thee shall the vow be performed.

2 O toi qui entends la prière, toute créature viendra jusqu'à toi.

Hear my prayer; to thee all flesh shall come.

3 Les iniquités avaient prévalu sur moi; mais toi, tu expieras nos transgressions.

The words of transgressors have overpowered us; but do thou pardon our sins.

4 Heureux celui que tu choisis, et que tu fais habiter dans tes parvis! Nous serons rassasiés des biens de ta maison, de la sainteté de ton palais.

Blessed [is he] whom thou hast chosen and adopted; he shall dwell in thy courts; we shall be filled with the good things of thy house; thy temple is holy.

5 Tu nous répondras par des œuvres redoutables, selon ta justice, ô Dieu de notre salut, l'espoir des extrémités lointaines de la terre et de la mer!

[Thou art] wonderful in righteousness. Hearken to us, O God our Saviour; the hope of all the ends of the earth, and of them [that are] on the sea afar off:

6 Il tient ferme les montagnes par sa force; il est ceint de puissance.

who dost establish the mountains in thy strength, being girded about with power;

7 Il apaise le bruit des mers, le bruit de leurs flots et la rumeur des peuples.

who troublest the depth of the sea, the sounds of its waves.

8 Et ceux qui habitent aux bouts de la terre, craignent à la vue de tes prodiges; tu fais chanter de joie et le Levant et le Couchant.

The nations shall be troubled, and they that inhabit the ends [of the earth] shall be afraid of thy signs; thou wilt cause the outgoings of morning and evening to rejoice.

9 Tu visites la terre, tu l'arroses, tu l'enrichis abondamment; les ruisseaux de Dieu sont pleins d'eau; tu prépares leur froment, après que tu as ainsi préparé la terre.

Thou hast visited the earth, and saturated it; thou hast abundantly enriched it. The river of God is filled with water; thou hast prepared their food, for thus is the preparation [of it].

10 Tu abreuves ses sillons; tu aplanis ses mottes; tu l'amollis par la pluie menue; tu bénis son germe.

Saturate her furrows, multiply her fruits; [the crop] springing up shall rejoice in its drops.

11 Tu couronnes l'année de tes biens, et les roues de ton char distillent l'abondance.

Thou wilt bless the crown of the year [because] of thy goodness; and thy plains shall be filled with fatness.

12 Elles la répandent sur les pâturages du désert, et les coteaux sont parés de joie.

The mountains of the wilderness shall be enriched; and the hills shall gird themselves with joy.

13 Les campagnes sont revêtues de troupeaux, et les vallées sont couvertes de froment; elles en triomphent, et elles en chantent.

The rams of the flock are clothed [with wool], and the valleys shall abound in corn; they shall cry aloud, yea they shall sing hymns.
