Luc 17
1 Il dit à ses disciples: «Il est impossible qu'il n'y ait pas de scandales; mais malheur à celui par qui ils arrivent!
Then said he to his disciples, It can not be auoided, but that offences will come, but wo be to him by whome they come.
2 Il vaudrait mieux pour lui, qu'on lui mît au cou une pierre de moulin, et qu'on le jetât dans la mer, que d'être une occasion de chute pour un seul de ces petits.
It is better for him that a great milstone were hanged about his necke, and that he were cast into ye sea, then that he should offende one of these litle ones.
3 Prenez donc garde à vous-mêmes. Si ton frère t'a offensé, reprends-le; et, s'il se repent pardonne-lui;
Take heede to your selues: if thy brother trespasse against thee, rebuke him: and if hee repent, forgiue him.
4 et quand il t'offenserait sept fois en un jour, s'il revient sept fois te dire «je me repens, » tu lui pardonneras.»
And though he sinne against thee seuen times in a day, and seuen times in a day turne againe to thee, saying, It repenteth mee, thou shalt forgiue him.
5 Les apôtres dirent au Seigneur: «Augmente-nous la foi.»
And the Apostles saide vnto the Lord, Increase our faith.
6 Mais le Seigneur leur dit: «Si vous aviez de la foi gros comme un grain de moutarde, vous diriez à ce sycomore: «Déracine-toi, et va te planter dans la mer; » et il vous obéirait.
And the Lord said, If ye had faith, as much as is a graine of mustard seede, and should say vnto this mulberie tree, Plucke thy selfe vp by the rootes, and plant thy selfe in the sea, it should euen obey you.
7 «Qui de vous, ayant un serviteur occupé à labourer ou à paître ses troupeaux, lui dira, à son retour des champs: «Viens vite te mettre à table?»
Who is it also of you, that hauing a seruant plowing or feeding cattell, woulde say vnto him by and by, when hee were come from the fielde, Goe, and sit downe at table?
8 Ne lui dira-t-il pas au contraire: «Prépare-moi à souper, et ceins-toi pour me servir, jusqu’à ce que j'aie mangé et bu; après quoi, tu mangeras et boiras?»
And woulde not rather say to him, Dresse wherewith I may suppe, and girde thy selfe, and serue mee, till I haue eaten and drunken, and afterward eate thou, and drinke thou?
9 A-t-il de l'obligation à son serviteur, parce qu'il a fait ce qui lui était commandé?
Doeth he thanke that seruant, because hee did that which was commanded vnto him? I trowe not.
10 Je ne le pense pas. Vous de même, quand vous aurez fait tout ce qui vous est commandé, dites: «Nous sommes des serviteurs inutiles; nous n'avons fait que ce que nous devions faire.»
So likewise yee, when yee haue done all those things, which are commanded you, say, We are vnprofitable seruants: wee haue done that which was our duetie to doe.
11 En se rendant à Jérusalem, il lui arriva de passer sur les confins de la Samarie et de la Galilée;
And so it was when he went to Hierusalem, that he passed through the middes of Samaria, and Galile.
12 et, comme il entrait dans un village, il rencontra dix lépreux qui se tenaient à distance,
And as hee entred into a certaine towne, there met him tenne men that were lepers, which stoode a farre off.
13 et qui lui crièrent: «Jésus, Maître, aie pitié de nous.»
And they lift vp their voyces and saide, Iesus, Master, haue mercie on vs.
14 Jésus les ayant vus, leur dit: «Allez vous montrer aux sacrificateurs; » et, en y allant, ils furent nettoyés de leur lèpre.
And when he saw them, he said vnto them, Goe, shewe your selues vnto the Priestes. And it came to passe, that as they went, they were clensed.
15 L'un d'eux, se voyant guéri, revint sur ses pas, glorifiant Dieu à haute voix;
Then one of them, when hee sawe that hee, was healed, turned backe, and with a loude voyce praised God,
16 il se jeta aux pieds de Jésus, la face contre terre, et lui rendit grâces: c'était un Samaritain.
And fell downe on his face at his feete, and gaue him thankes: and he was a Samaritan.
17 Alors Jésus dit: «Les dix n'ont-ils pas tous été rendus nets? où sont les neuf autres?
And Iesus answered, and said, Are there not tenne clensed? but where are the nine?
18 N'y a-t-il que cet étranger qu'on ait vu revenir donner gloire à Dieu?»
There is none founde that returned to giue God praise, saue this stranger.
19 Et il lui dit: » Lève-toi, va; ta foi t'a guéri.»
And he saide vnto him, Arise, goe thy way, thy faith hath saued thee.
20 Les pharisiens lui ayant demandé quand le royaume de Dieu devait venir, il leur répondit: «Le royaume de Dieu ne vient pas d'une manière qui frappe les regards,
And when hee was demaunded of the Pharises, when the kingdome of God shoulde come, he answered them, and said, The kingdome of God commeth not with obseruation.
21 et l'on ne dira pas: «il est ici, » ou «il est là; » car voici, le royaume de Dieu est au dedans de vous.»
Neither shall men say, Loe here, or lo there: for behold, the kingdome of God is within you.
22 Il dit à ses disciples: «Le temps viendra où vous souhaiterez de voir un jour, un seul des jours du Fils de l'homme, et vous ne le verrez pas.
And he saide vnto the disciples, The dayes will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the dayes of the Sonne of man, and ye shall not see it.
23 On vous dira: «Il est là; il est ici; » n'y allez pas, n'y courez pas;
Then they shall say to you, Behold here, or beholde there: but goe not thither, neither follow them.
24 car comme l'éclair qui luit, brille d'un bout du ciel à l'autre, ainsi en sera-t-il du Fils de l'homme en son jour.
For as the lightening that lighteneth out of the one part vnder heauen, shineth vnto the other part vnder heauen, so shall the Sonne of man be in his day.
25 Mais il faut auparavant qu'il souffre beaucoup, et qu'il soit rejeté par cette génération.
But first must he suffer many things, and be reprooued of this generation.
26 «Et ce qui se passa au temps de Noé, se passera de même au temps du Fils de l'homme:
And as it was in the dayes of Noe, so shall it be in the dayes of the Sonne of man.
27 on mangeait, on buvait, on prenait et l'on donnait en mariage, jusqu'au jour où Noé entra dans l'arche; et le déluge vint qui les fit tous périr.
They ate, they dranke, they married wiues, and gaue in marriage vnto the day that Noe went into the Arke: and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
28 Et comme au temps de Loth, on mangeait, on buvait, on achetait, on vendait, on plantait, on bâtissait,
Likewise also, as it was in the dayes of Lot: they ate, they dranke, they bought, they solde, they planted, they built.
29 mais le jour où Loth quitta Sodome, il tomba du ciel une pluie de feu et de soufre qui les fit tous périr,
But in the day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heauen, and destroyed them all.
30 de même en sera-t-il le jour où le Fils de l'homme paraîtra.
After these ensamples shall it be in the day when the Sonne of man is reueiled.
31 «En ce jour-là, que celui qui sera sur le toit ne descende pas prendre ses effets qui sont dans la maison; de même, que celui qui est aux champs, ne revienne pas en arrière:
At that day hee that is vpon the house, and his stuffe in ye house, let him not come downe to take it out: and he that is in the fielde likewise, let him not turne backe to that he left behinde.
32 souvenez- vous de la femme de Loth.
Remember Lots wife.
33 Celui qui cherchera à conserver sa vie, la perdra; et celui qui l'aura perdue, la retrouvera.
Whosoeuer will seeke to saue his soule, shall loose it: and whosoeuer shall loose it, shall get it life.
34 Je vous le dis, en cette nuit-là, de deux personnes qui seront dans un même lit, l’une sera prise, l'autre, laissée;
I tell you, in that night there shall be two in one bed: the one shalbe receiued, and the other shalbe left.
35 de deux femmes qui moudront ensemble, l'une sera prise, l'autre, laissée.»
Two women shalbe grinding together: the one shalbe taken, and the other shalbe left.
36 [de deux hommes qui seront aux champs; l’un sera pris, l’autre laissé].
Two shalbe in the fielde: one shalbe receiued, and another shalbe left.
37 Alors ses disciples prenant la parole, lui dirent: «où sera-ce, Seigneur?» Il leur répondit: «Là où sera le cadavre, là aussi s'assembleront les vautours.»
And they answered, and saide to him, Where, Lord? And he said vnto them, Wheresoeuer the body is, thither shall also the eagles bee gathered together.
