Psaumes 75

1 Psaume d'Asaph, Cantique [donné] au maître chantre, [pour le chanter] sur Altasheth. Ô Dieu! nous t'avons célébré; nous t'avons célébré; et ton Nom était près de nous; on a raconté tes merveilles.

To him that excelleth. Destroy not. A Psalme or song committed toAsaph. We will prayse thee, O God, we will prayse thee, for thy Name is neere: therefore they will declare thy wonderous workes.

2 Quand j'aurai accepté l'assignation, je jugerai droitement.

When I shall take a conuenient time, I will iudge righteously.

3 Le pays s'écoulait avec tous ceux qui y habitent; mais j'ai affermi ses piliers; (Sélah)

The earth and all the inhabitantes thereof are dissolued: but I will establish the pillars of it. (Selah)

4 J'ai dit aux insensés: n'agissez point follement; et aux méchants: ne faites point les superbes.

I saide vnto the foolish, Be not so foolish, and to the wicked, Lift not vp the horne.

5 N'affectez point la domination, et ne parlez point avec fierté.

Lift not vp your horne on high, neither speake with a stiffe necke.

6 Car l'élévation ne vient point d'Orient, ni d'Occident, ni du désert.

For to come to preferment is neither from the East, nor from the West, nor from the South,

7 Car c'est Dieu qui gouverne; il abaisse l'un, et élève l'autre.

But God is the iudge: he maketh lowe and he maketh hie.

8 Même il y a une coupe en la main de l'Eternel, et le vin rougit dedans; il est plein de mixtion, et [Dieu] en verse; certainement tous les méchants de la terre en suceront et boiront les lies.

For in the hand of the Lord is a cup, and the wine is red: it is full mixt, and he powreth out of the same: surely all the wicked of the earth shall wring out and drinke the dregges thereof.

9 Mais moi, j'en ferai le récit à toujours, je psalmodierai au Dieu de Jacob.

But I will declare for euer, and sing prayses vnto the God of Iaakob.

10 J'humilierai tous les méchants; mais les justes seront élevés.

All the hornes of the wicked also will I breake: but the hornes of the righteous shalbe exalted.
