Psaumes 34
1 Psaume de David, sur ce qu'il changea son extérieur en la présence d'Abimélec, qui le chassa, et il s'en alla. [Aleph.] Je bénirai l'Eternel en tout temps, sa louange sera continuellement en ma bouche.
A Psalm of David; when he changed his demeanour before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed. I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 [Beth.] Mon âme se glorifiera en l'Eternel; les débonnaires l'entendront, et s'en réjouiront.
My soul shall glory in the LORD; the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
3 [Guimel.] Magnifiez l'Eternel avec moi, et exaltons son Nom tous ensemble.
O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together.
4 [Daleth.] J'ai cherché l'Eternel, et il m'a répondu, et m'a délivré de toutes mes frayeurs.
I sought the LORD, and He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.
5 [He. Vau.] L'a-t-on regardé? on en est illuminé, et leurs faces ne sont point confuses.
They looked unto Him, and were radiant; and their faces shall never be abashed.
6 [Zain.] Cet affligé a crié, et l'Eternel l'a exaucé, et l'a délivré de toutes ses détresses.
This poor man cried, and the LORD heard, and saved him out of all his troubles.
7 [Heth.] L'Ange de l'Eternel se campe tout autour de ceux qui le craignent, et les garantit.
The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear Him, and delivereth them.
8 [Teth.] Savourez, et voyez que l'Eternel est bon; ô que bienheureux est l'homme qui se confie en lui!
O consider and see that the LORD is good; happy is the man that taketh refuge in Him.
9 [Jod.] Craignez l'Eternel vous ses Saints; car rien ne manque à ceux qui le craignent.
O fear the LORD, ye His holy ones; for there is no want to them that fear Him.
10 [Caph.] Les lionceaux ont disette, ils ont faim; mais ceux qui cherchent l'Eternel n'auront besoin d'aucun bien.
The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger; but they that seek the LORD want not any good thing.
11 [Lamed.] Venez, enfants, écoutez-moi; je vous enseignerai la crainte de l'Eternel.
Come, ye children, hearken unto me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
12 [Mem.] Qui est l'homme qui prenne plaisir à vivre, [et] qui aime la longue vie pour voir du bien?
Who is the man that desireth life, and loveth days, that he may see good therein?
13 [Nun.] Garde ta langue de mal, et tes lèvres de parler avec tromperie.
Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
14 [Samech.] Détourne-toi du mal, et fais le bien; cherche la paix et la poursuis.
Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
15 [Hajin.] Les yeux de l'Eternel sont sur les justes, et ses oreilles sont attentives à leur cri.
The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous, and His ears are open unto their cry.
16 [Pe.] La face de l'Eternel est contre ceux qui font le mal, pour exterminer de la terre leur mémoire.
The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
17 [Tsade.] Quand les justes crient, l'Eternel les exauce, et il les délivre de toutes leurs détresses.
They cried, and the LORD heard, and delivered them out of all their troubles.
18 [Koph.] L'Eternel [est] près de ceux qui ont le cœur déchiré [par la douleur], et il délivre ceux qui ont l'esprit abattu.
The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart, and saveth such as are of a contrite spirit.
19 [Res.] Le juste a des maux en grand nombre, mais l'Eternel le délivre de tous.
Many are the ills of the righteous, but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
20 [Scin.] Il garde tous ses os, [et] pas un n'en est cassé.
He keepeth all his bones; not one of them is broken.
21 [Thau.] La malice fera mourir le méchant; et ceux qui haïssent le juste seront détruits.
Evil shall kill the wicked; and they that hate the righteous shall be held guilty.
22 [Pe.] L'Eternel rachète l'âme de ses serviteurs; et aucun de ceux qui se confient en lui, ne sera détruit.
The LORD redeemeth the soul of His servants; and none of them that take refuge in Him shall be desolate.
