Proverbes 15
1 La réponse douce apaise la fureur; mais la parole fâcheuse excite la colère.
A soft answer turneth back fury, And a grievous word raiseth up anger.
2 La langue des sages embellit la science; mais la bouche des fous profère la folie.
The tongue of the wise maketh knowledge good, And the mouth of fools uttereth folly.
3 Les yeux de l'Eternel sont en tous lieux, contemplant les méchants et les bons.
In every place are the eyes of Jehovah, Watching the evil and the good.
4 La langue qui corrige [le prochain], est [comme] l'arbre de vie; mais celle où il y a de la perversité, est un rompement d'esprit.
A healed tongue [is] a tree of life, And perverseness in it — a breach in the spirit.
5 Le fou méprise l'instruction de son père; mais celui qui prend garde à la répréhension, deviendra bien-avisé.
A fool despiseth the instruction of his father, And whoso is regarding reproof is prudent.
6 Il y a un grand trésor dans la maison du juste; mais il y a du trouble dans le revenu du méchant.
[In] the house of the righteous [is] abundant strength, And in the increase of the wicked — trouble.
7 Les lèvres des sages répandent partout la science; mais le cœur des fous ne fait pas ainsi.
The lips of the wise scatter knowledge, And the heart of fools [is] not right.
8 Le sacrifice des méchants est en abomination à l'Eternel; mais la requête des hommes droits lui est agréable.
The sacrifice of the wicked [is] an abomination to Jehovah, And the prayer of the upright [is] His delight.
9 La voie du méchant est en abomination à l'Eternel; mais il aime celui qui s'adonne soigneusement à la justice.
An abomination to Jehovah [is] the way of the wicked, And whoso is pursuing righteousness He loveth.
10 Le châtiment est fâcheux à celui qui quitte le [droit] chemin; [mais] celui qui hait d'être repris, mourra.
Chastisement [is] grievous to him who is forsaking the path, Whoso is hating reproof dieth.
11 Le sépulcre et le gouffre sont devant l'Eternel; combien plus les cœurs des enfants des hommes? (Sheol h7585)
Sheol and destruction [are] before Jehovah, Surely also the hearts of the sons of men. (Sheol h7585)
12 Le moqueur n'aime point qu'on le reprenne, et il n'ira [jamais] vers les sages.
A scorner loveth not his reprover, Unto the wise he goeth not.
13 Le cœur joyeux rend la face belle, mais l'esprit est abattu par l'ennui du cœur.
A joyful heart maketh glad the face, And by grief of heart is the spirit smitten.
14 Le cœur de l'homme prudent cherche la science; mais la bouche des fous se repaît de folie.
The heart of the intelligent seeketh knowledge, And the mouth of fools enjoyeth folly.
15 Tous les jours de l'affligé sont mauvais; mais quand on a le cœur gai, c'est un banquet perpétuel.
All the days of the afflicted [are] evil, And gladness of heart [is] a perpetual banquet.
16 Un peu de bien vaut mieux avec la crainte de l'Eternel, qu'un grand trésor avec lequel il y a du trouble.
Better [is] a little with the fear of Jehovah, Than much treasure, and tumult with it.
17 Mieux vaut un repas d'herbes, où il y a de l'amitié, qu'un repas de bœuf bien gras, où il y a de la haine.
Better [is] an allowance of green herbs and love there, Than a fatted ox, and hatred with it.
18 L'homme furieux excite la querelle; mais l'homme tardif à colère apaise la dispute.
A man of fury stirreth up contention, And the slow to anger appeaseth strife.
19 La voie du paresseux est comme une haie de ronces; mais le chemin des hommes droits est relevé.
The way of the slothful [is] as a hedge of briers, And the path of the upright is raised up.
20 L'enfant sage réjouit le père; mais l'homme insensé méprise sa mère.
A wise son rejoiceth a father. And a foolish man is despising his mother.
21 La folie est la joie de celui qui est dépourvu de sens; mais l'homme prudent dresse ses pas pour marcher.
Folly is joy to one lacking heart, And a man of intelligence directeth [his] going.
22 Les résolutions deviennent inutiles où il n'y a point de conseil; mais il y a de la fermeté dans la multitude des conseillers.
Without counsel [is] the making void of purposes, And in a multitude of counsellors it is established.
23 L'homme a de la joie dans les réponses de sa bouche; et la parole dite en son temps combien est-elle bonne?
Joy [is] to a man in the answer of his mouth, And a word in its season — how good!
24 Le chemin de la vie tend en haut pour l'homme prudent, afin qu'il se retire du sépulcre qui est en bas. (Sheol h7585)
A path of life [is] on high for the wise, To turn aside from Sheol beneath. (Sheol h7585)
25 L'Eternel démolit la maison des orgueilleux, mais il établit la borne de la veuve.
The house of the proud Jehovah pulleth down, And He setteth up the border of the widow.
26 Les pensées du malin sont en abomination à l'Eternel; mais celles de ceux qui sont purs, sont des paroles agréables.
An abomination to Jehovah [are] thoughts of wickedness, And pure [are] sayings of pleasantness.
27 Celui qui est entièrement adonné au gain déshonnête, trouble sa maison; mais celui qui hait les dons, vivra.
A dishonest gainer is troubling his house, And whoso is hating gifts liveth.
28 Le cœur du juste médite ce qu'il doit répondre; mais la bouche des méchants profère des choses mauvaises.
The heart of the righteous meditateth to answer, And the mouth of the wicked uttereth evil things.
29 L'Eternel est loin des méchants; mais il exauce la requête des justes.
Far [is] Jehovah from the wicked, And the prayer of the righteous He heareth.
30 La clarté des yeux réjouit le cœur; et la bonne renommée engraisse les os.
The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart, A good report maketh fat the bone.
31 L'oreille qui écoute la répréhension de vie, logera parmi les sages.
An ear that is hearing the reproof of life Doth lodge among the wise.
32 Celui qui rejette l'instruction a en dédain son âme; mais celui qui écoute la répréhension, s'acquiert du sens.
Whoso is refusing instruction is despising his soul, And whoso is hearing reproof Is getting understanding.
33 La crainte de l'Eternel est une instruction de sagesse, et l'humilité va devant la gloire.
The fear of Jehovah [is] the instruction of wisdom, And before honour [is] humility!
